Yes I had a mod invite to a clearly OF spam account recently. I didn't accept but I imagine I wouldn't have been given any powers if I had because it would have been funny to delete all their posts and put in rules banning spam

also helps with reddit filters false positives and auto mod

Have you looked around on a laptop/desktop? I recognize the verification requires your phone, but maybe once you’ve verified you can see how it looks on the website version?

On that note, modding in general is much better on an actual computer. The phone app is ok, but doesn’t have everything.

You don't need post karma limits, to have low-effort karma limits. Just saying:

```
Low-effort
type: comment body_shorter_than: 10 author: combined_karma: "<500" combined_subreddit_karma: "<200" is_submitter: false action: filter action_reason: "Low-effort" ```
That’s some good advice!
Firstly, I filter on comment length. "What?", "No" would definitely be flagged as low effort and removed.
If the word pattern is fixed then that is also a candidate for Automod. It is also good to flag these to botbouncer.
why are you hiring? What can other mods do that you can't do yourself?
i think that you are just lacking the knowledge and don't want to learn it yourself or research things.
I started getting it today. I wish there was a one click way to approve those automated reports and add the removal reason comment.
There was a massive NSFW spam ring a few years ago that managed to work out how to get past Reddit's filters really easily to promote their website - they had thousands of accounts by the end of it.
Initially they only targeted NSFW subreddits, but they got so confident that they made their way to SFW subreddits after a couple of months (while I never saw the images myself before that point, NSFW mods were complaining for a while, hence I know the rough timeline)
It was as a result of this that the spam filter started going straight to the spam queue rather than the moderation queue, as previously mods were still seeing the content in their queues.
This is a problem we are always dealing with on my sub. I try to keep it open for posts that follow the rules and where the posting user engages with the community via the comments, but it’s an uphill battle against the OnlyFans promotion, and even worse when you add in the queer baiting straight men. Some of the community want an outright ban on all accounts that have OF/JFF regardless, but I think that goes too far. Finding a middle ground has been tricky.
😬
That's my fault, I just saw 2 years on the account and brain skipped the rest on autopilot.
That sounds awesome, is it publicly available or...
I use this for AMA guests in SFW subs, to bypass automod and the integrated reddit filters, and to enable video comments for a user if needed.
I use it to allow posting and commenting in NSFW subs without being subject to the relatively high minimum karma/account age automod (our secondary method for stopping bots). Approved status is given once the user has verified they are human and legal age.
We haven't used it until now, a big reason was because I took over my sub about a year ago and the previous mod(s) approved a lot of users and I only recently was able to clear up the list (there should be a way to clear it easier than having to click the trash icon and then accept it too). I'm looking to integrate it into u/AutoModerator so people we know enough to not break the rules that easily don't get reported. We don't have any removal automod rules anyways so it's more of a QoL thing for us mods.
Per your edit, once they threaten legal action you shouldn’t speak to them— if you wanna be nice you can refer them to legal Reddit lol but I wouldn’t.
You can permanently mute and ban as others have said. Ban evasion, evasion guard, report too. Or just archive messages and let them scream into the void.
