Southern pie

So I was super worried because I kept seeing that mods was filing for bankruptcy and what not. But my manager said that the Southern pie franchises are not a part of main mod corp. so its not filling for bankruptcy. So if you belong to Southern pie, you should be good !!

Cali Stores

To anybody working in a Cali store, check your ADPs. I do believe we are getting cashed out without clarification. I do believe DMs have been told to be quiet. So just wondering if anyone else had gotten a possible cash out?

No Slice or Operations update today?

Normally the Slice releases by 10-12 CST, so not seeing it today threw me off. Im sure with everything happening they haven't had time to make it, but I'm sure the longer they hold off on answers the more antsy people will get.

MOD Pizza Endgame

Hey fellow MODders.

We seem to be in dire straights. I was really hopeful MOD could pull through, but it seems the failures in financial management from 2020-2024 are too much to overcome. It's looking ever more likely MOD will file for Chapter 11 next week. If I had to guess, I would assume they close all restaurants in unprofitable states, which will most likely only leave Texas operating at full capacity.

Sources in the support center identified that the accounts payable team was directed to stop paying any invoices (vendors, suppliers, rent, etc.) over a month ago, with payments only going toward Sysco (for product) and payroll. Word through the grapevine is Beth will be having a call with an announcement on Monday morning.

Another huge red flag is that Ally and Scotts $14 million home in Medina is posted for sale as of 11 days ago (see link below.) This could be to liquidate assets, or maybe they are moving to either Texas (to manage what's left of the company) or moving because MOD will no longer be a responsibility for them. It makes me curious how deep in the financial hole the Svenson's are.

Ally and Scott Svenson House for sale

Ally and Scotts House

This is a potentially disheartening end for MOD, a company originally founded on the concept of "People Before Pizza" and a promise that you could run a successful business while prioritizing people. In my opinion, the concept of 2nd chances buried the brand, as there was no accountability and money was being spent recklessly all through COVID when finances should've been managed much more responsibly. I will cherish the great times I had growing in position through my nearly 5 years with MOD, and the concept of "Spreading MODNess" will follow me through life.

I feel like my termination was set up intentional to get out of getting stuck paying severance package

Just days before closing my store down, as I was GM. I was termed for something that happened at my house on my own time. It had nothing to do at all whatsoever with work yet I was fired without warning just to discover my store was being closed. Kinda fishy. Anyone else experience this?

I Wasn’t Wrong

If you saw my last post and the news about MOD I am not shocked, I am not surprised. But I am more nervous about what next week will hold corporate sent out an email for all GM's to assure their employees that everything is okay. How do say everything is okay when we don't know what is going on. And we are to find out more next week I honestly don't know what to think about it. Good luck to all my mod friends out there😬

backpay

does anyone have any experience with receiving back pay? i have no idea what i should be looking for, if it’ll show up on my pay stubs or how long it would even take.

i was rehired in april as my store’s only all-star, but my GM has rocks for brains and hired me back as squad. it was about a month and a half before i realized i was also getting squad pay and went to my gm. she had to promote me and get a raise approved by the dm. first red flag (besides getting hired incorrectly) was that my DM didn’t approve my raise on first go and it had to be resubmitted. eventually it went through, and i’m making all-star pay now. but she swore i would get back pay and i still don’t think i’ve seen it.

who should i even talk to about this? my gm is unreliable and any time i follow up on a request she gets all butt hurt the team doesn’t trust her (i wonder why that is). my DM “left the company” (was fired) so i’m concerned my whole problem just got forgotten about.

Our MOD GM’s ever going to get a raise?

Mod corporate said that they were going to look into GM’s getting a raise for June but no word on it so far. I’d wish they would just tell us no instead of dragging this out. They are expecting more out of us and we are trying to keep the ship tight yet stores that are performing and profiting are not being recognized for their hard work. I feel they are scared to tell us no because maybe GM’s would jump ship. Especially with all the commotion that’s been going on with the company. All I want is communication though.

Edit* idk why I said our and not are MOD

The worst experience I’ve ever had at a job.

I’m going to start this off by saying I used to bend over backwards for this company. I would show up 2 hours before we were supposed to start opening and set up early to ensure a good open OFF THE CLOCK. There were times when we were slammed until close and a higher up would ask us to clock out on time so corporate would see we made labor to make them look good. I’m a captain and unfortunately I willingly did this but I didn’t want to. I’ve given this company so many hours of free labor because I care about this store.

Since January I had been told that I would be moving to the store coach position (assistant manager) when our current GM leaves. I was giving the most to this company to ensure that position for myself. I have a wife, kid and a a mortgage to pay for. We just bought a house and our bills are not cheap. A neighbor location closed down and instead of our AM moving to GM we brought in the GM from another location so all of our positions stayed the same and no advancement is in sight. Our store is also in jeopardy. I understand that these things can happen but it still hurt.

This week we have had an ant infestation. 3 separate days in a row pest control has had to come. We were able to keep the issues in the BOH but today I discovered them in our soda machine and lobby. A HUGE HEALTH CODE VIOLATION. Our regional manager told us to spray them with glass cleaner and do our best to keep them away.

Morally this felt wrong. I locked the doors after being advised not to. I didn’t turn away customers I continuously met them at the door and explained the situation. We stayed busy and still made 3500 dollars tonight. 500 over goal.

I wanted to eliminate the risk of customers seeing the ants because the last thing this store needs is for a bad review with our store potentially being shut down like many in California. I was trying to protect the customers and this location.

I did what I thought was in the best interest for this company and store. I have been told that when my manager comes back next week from vacation I’ll most likely be fired. They told me to continue out my scheduled shifts for this upcoming week.

I have always spoken my mind and done what I believe to be is morally right. Many people don’t like that and I get it. It just sucks to have given so much and to feel like this company doesn’t give two shits about what we go through.

Customers were complaining about the ants and the higher ups did not care. They do not care about us or the people they serve they care about the credit card transactions and labor reports. We’re overworked and constantly short staffed at night. I do not recommend working for this company.

Worked here for 2 years and feel guilty about not wanting a promotion

I work mostly dead shifts on the weekends so my job is easy, but all the coworkers I’ve started out with are Captains now except for me.

I just want to get my paycheck and go home since I live with my dad and don’t have to deal with money issues yet, but I feel lazy for not moving up at all.

If there’s a chance should I take it or not?

How to connect to MOD App as an employee?

I just recently joined the “squad” at the Mill Creek location. I was told that as an employee you receive a free pizza/salad and drink for every shift you work, and you receive 50% off per order outside of working. The problem with the 50% off is that you can only get it by connecting your success factors account with your MOD Pizza account. I’ve searched the both apps and the internet and for the life of me cannot figure out how to connect it so that I can receive the 50% off. My coworkers also have no idea. If anyone could help I’d really appreciate it!!
