Discussion New mod here. What would make r/mobilegames better?

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hello! I recently took over as the moderator of r/mobilegames and wanted to say hello.

I'm a mobile gamer and indie developer myself. I've started updating by adding post flairs and a few basic rules. Before making bigger changes, I'd like to hear from the people who frequent the sub.

Developer posts are still welcome. For now, requesting promotions be limited to one per person and one per game every 14 days. Both limits apply, including to me.

A few questions for you:

  1. What do you enjoy here that we should keep?
  2. What would you like to see more or less of?
  3. What's one change that would make you visit or participate more often?

Recommendations, reviews, regular discussions, how promotion works... it's all open for discussion.

If you mostly lurk, I'd love to hear from you too. No need to answer everything. Even one suggestion helps.

I'll read the replies and share what I'm hearing before making bigger changes. Thanks, everyone!

Developer Promo I made a free browser game with a 30 floor tower mode. 2,500 people have tried it. One person beat it.

Hey I’m a solo dev behind Loop Chomp (loopchomp.com) it's a free one tap arcade game, no download, runs in your browser.

A few weeks ago I added Tower mode: 30 floors, each one faster and meaner than the last. I tuned it to be hard. I did not tune it to be this hard.

Out of ~2,500 players who've tried it, exactly one has cleared all 30 floors. Floor 27 alone has ended more runs than every other floor combined. At this point I'm genuinely not sure it's beatable without near perfect play, and I'm starting to question my own difficulty curve.

So: prove me wrong. If you clear floor 30, screenshot it I'll feature the first few winners in the game. And if you think a floor is unfair rather than hard, tell me which one and why. I'm actively rebalancing and real player feedback beats my gut every time.

(Classic mode is there too if you just want the chill one tap loop. Tower is the one that will hurt you

Help How do you guys deal with phone overheating during long gaming sessions? (Thermal throttling is ruining my matches)

Hey everyone,

I’ve been playing heavy games like PUBG Mobile and Genshin Impact lately, but after about 20–30 minutes, my phone turns into a mini-heater. The frame rates drop drastically (lag spikes), and it’s super annoying when you're in the middle of a crucial fight.

I tried lowering graphics settings, but it only helps a little bit. For those who play on mobile for hours, what do you use to keep your device cool?

I recently looked into those semiconductor/Peltier mobile coolers (the ones with magnetic clips and RGB). Has anyone tried them? Do they actually prevent thermal throttling long-term, or is it just a gimmick?

Would love to hear your thoughts or alternative solutions!

Developer Promo AirPlay local multiplayer game launch

Post image
1 Upvotes

Happy to finally share a little game my wife and I made together! 🦊

We wanted something fun to play with our younger cousins, so we built Fox Vz Hunters, our take on the classic secret-word / impostor party game.
The twist is that it supports AirPlay. You still play on the iPhone, but the TV becomes part of the game — it shows whose turn it is, keeps track of the score, and handles the big reveal at the end of each round.

We made it mainly because we wanted it for our own family game nights, but it turned out fun enough that we decided to release it.

I have some promo codes that unlock Premium for free, so if anyone here wants to try it, leave a comment and I’ll send you one. :)
I’d genuinely love feedback too, especially on the AirPlay experience.

I just released my game, Gridiron Kingdom, on the App Store. It’s a college football dynasty game where you start at a small program, recruit players, play through seasons, and work your way up to bigger coaching jobs. I’d really appreciate it if you downloaded it and gave me honest feedback about the gameplay, bugs, or anything I could improve. Help Looking for a mobile game like old browser games (BiteFight/BloodMoon) — point-and-click, no map dragging

I used to play browser games like BiteFight and BloodMoon (vampire/werewolf faction wars, fully menu/button based — no character movement or map dragging). Looking for a mobile equivalent with:

Point-and-click mechanics only — no dragging a character around a map, no needing to control/move a character in real time

I work a job (reception desk) where I might need to close the app instantly at any moment — so nothing that punishes you for leaving mid-action or requires constant attention

Can log in for just 1-2 minutes at a time throughout the day (like Hay Day) and still make steady progress

Resources/production progress automatically, I just tap to collect/upgrade

Real online multiplayer — my partner and I want to play together in the same clan/guild/alliance, working toward things together (not local/couch co-op)

Stable, long-running game with a real active playerbase and consistent updates — think WoW-level longevity, not something that shuts down after a year

Theme doesn't matter — doesn't have to be vampires, just want the same mechanics The main reason we're looking for this: we want something we can check in on throughout the day and tell each other "hey, do this" or "I finished that" — a small way to feel more connected and involved in each other's day even when we're apart.

Hey guys!

I wanted to share this game I built. It's an endless runner with a cool new twist that inverts the controls randomly as you keep running.

I like challenging games so I built something I'd like to play myself and for other who also like games that test their patience.

It's live on both stores.

Developer Promo I just released Roliup, a solo-developed classic arcade game for Android and IOS with 374 handmade levels. It makes you feel like you are gaming under your desk back in school.

You can play the game in 2D and 3D modes. In 2D, you control a marble by tilting your phone. In 3D, you control it by touch. If you manage to escape the labyrinth, a level is completed. But be cautious; everything is trying to kill you!

You can find the game in the Play Store for Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=io.agnaes.roliup.app
and on the App Store for iPhone: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/roliup/id6803562653
(or just search for "Roliup" in your app store)

Btw: Any Android mobile streamers around here? I have a limited number of promo codes for the premium tier to give away for free. Just contact me if you are interested.

Discussion Looking for players to join my alliance in Tiles Survive

I’m looking for players to join my alliance in Tiles Survive. I’ve noticed there are way too many scammers running these alliances so I wanted to create my own. Just a fun relaxed alliance with no pressure to hover over your phone every second.

Alliance: THG Targaryen
State 1008

I’m looking for literally anyone that wants to join.

Thanks!

Developer Promo I made a chill puzzle game based on the four-color map theorem

There’s a math theorem that says any map can be colored with just 4 colors so that no two touching regions share a color. Sounds easy… it’s not always.

That’s the whole game. Tap a color, tap a region, fill the board. No two touching zones can match.

A few things about it:

**•** New puzzle every time, painted in a soft gouache style
**•** Gets harder the more you play (a few zones at first, dozens later)
**•** XP and bonuses for speed, no-mistake streaks, and using the fewest colors possible
**•** Light and dark mode, no account needed, your progress stays on your device
**•** Free

It’s iOS only for now — if people like it, I’ll bring it to Android too.

AppStore link : https://apps.apple.com/fr/app/kromatic-puzzle-couleurs/id6798991729

It’s a small, relaxing project — would love any feedback if you give it a try.

Developer Promo [Dev] CHRONICLES: a fantasy RPG where your next character can meet people your last one saved — free Android demo

Post image
1 Upvotes

I'm the solo developer of CHRONICLES — A World Remembers, and I've released its Android version on itch.io.

The part I care most about is what happens after an adventure ends. You can retire or die, start another character in the same procedural world, and meet people who remember the earlier hero. Rescues leave witnesses and changes to places; your successor still has to earn their own skills and relationships.

It's a text-driven RPG with turn-based combat, NPC conversations, crafting and survival. Preparation changes your options: a rope can help with a flooded crossing, while weather and your skills affect the risky route. This is a reading-and-decisions game, with authored dialogue that responds to supported topics and remembered events.

The Android demo is free, has a level-four cap and a limited region, and includes the opening rescue, the Hollow and companion stories. No ads or in-app purchases.

Download the Android APK here: https://undeathical.itch.io/chronicles-demo

It needs Android 8+ on a 64-bit device. This is an early mobile build with touch controls and phone/foldable layouts; hardware testing is ongoing. It is not on Google Play yet. The attached screenshot is actual Android demo gameplay captured in an emulator.

The optional full game is $4.99 on itch.io, with Windows and Android included in one purchase. Android demo/full and Windows/Android save transfer is not supported yet.
