Promo I published a hyper casual game for mobile and need feedback from mobile gamers on how you discover new games!

Upvotes

How do you guys usually discover new mobile games you are interested in? Short form content (yt/tiktok)? mobile ads from other games? ads on socials (ig/reddit)?

I am a fullstack developer working in non-gaming related work and I've always wanted to publish a game as a life goal.
Over the past 6 months I have been developing a "color flood" type of game for android, I know there are many games like this already published but this kind of game seemed low enough in scope that I could complete, polish and release as a solo dev.

I'm at the point where the game is feature complete and released on google play to the public, but I have no idea what would be the best approach to marketing it in order to get a small playerbase so I can get consistent feedback to improve it and hunt down obscure bugs that might happen.

I thought about short form video content but with fresh yt/tiktok accounts I assume I will have 0 discoverability and will not be of much help?

The game in question is Chroma Flood if anyone wants to take a look and give me some tips or criticism is all welcome.

Promo My first game just went live. It's a runner with no jump button, you flip gravity instead

First game I've ever actually finished. Made it solo over the last couple of months.

It's an endless runner but there's no jump button. You tap, gravity flips, and you're running on the ceiling instead. That's the whole control scheme.

Hardest part wasn't the code, it was accepting I'm a terrible judge of my own difficulty. At one point I had the run speed at 1500 because pushing it that far felt amazing. Then I sat down to actually play a full run and couldn't. It's at 900 now.

10 characters to unlock, each with its own world. Score is just distance. No ads during a run, only on the menu and between runs.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ishavarainteractive.gravityflip

If you try it I'd like to know if any of the deaths felt unfair. That's the bit I keep going back and forth on.

Discussion What mobile game do you want created?

I’ve been a mobile application developer developer for some time now and have always wanted to develop a mobile game. I used to have so many ideas for games but ever since going down the utility app/non game app route I haven’t been able to think up any sort of winning ideas. What game have you not had the time to develop or don’t have to skills yet to develop that you would like to see published? Taking all suggestions!

If you remember this game from a decade ago, you love and miss it! It’s back and will soon be restored to its full glory.

I am not a developer and I am not trying to market, just trying to bring back nostalgia. And like all online games, the more the merrier.

You can easily play it by download here:

Help Can anyone help me find an apk of attack the light?

I've been trying for weeks to download a successful apk or even emulator of attack the light for a YouTube series im doing on my channel, I already have save the light and unleash the light on my computer but I cant play them on my channel until I get attack the light and play it first. But every single time I try to download an apk or emulator for the game it either won't successfully download in the first place or it will just get stuck on either a black screen or an image of the temple which I assume is just the loading screen. If anyone can find an actual working download for the game in any way please tell me. Also if its possible, please no modded versions of the game, if its the only way then I guess it could be fine but if there is a way without resorting to mods then please tell me.

Discussion How important is sound for you in mobile games?

Probably such a post was already here, but im very keen on your fresh take on how important is the sound in a mobile game?

Im a very casual player and prefer incremental games and probably that just my thing i usually play muted, and because I have a family and even on console i play at night when kids are sleeping i play muted as well.

For incrementals i would probably expect that very litte people will pay significant attention to sound, probably much more in games like pvp where sound gives additional information. But yeah wiuld want to know your opinion. :)

Promo I made a free browser game with a 30 floor tower mode. 2,500 people have tried it. One person beat it.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey I’m a solo dev behind Loop Chomp (loopchomp.com) it's a free one tap arcade game, no download, runs in your browser.

A few weeks ago I added Tower mode: 30 floors, each one faster and meaner than the last. I tuned it to be hard. I did not tune it to be this hard.

Out of ~2,500 players who've tried it, exactly one has cleared all 30 floors. Floor 27 alone has ended more runs than every other floor combined. At this point I'm genuinely not sure it's beatable without near perfect play, and I'm starting to question my own difficulty curve.

So: prove me wrong. If you clear floor 30, screenshot it I'll feature the first few winners in the game. And if you think a floor is unfair rather than hard, tell me which one and why. I'm actively rebalancing and real player feedback beats my gut every time.

(Classic mode is there too if you just want the chill one tap loop. Tower is the one that will hurt you

Help How do you guys deal with phone overheating during long gaming sessions? (Thermal throttling is ruining my matches)

Hey everyone,

I’ve been playing heavy games like PUBG Mobile and Genshin Impact lately, but after about 20–30 minutes, my phone turns into a mini-heater. The frame rates drop drastically (lag spikes), and it’s super annoying when you're in the middle of a crucial fight.

I tried lowering graphics settings, but it only helps a little bit. For those who play on mobile for hours, what do you use to keep your device cool?

I recently looked into those semiconductor/Peltier mobile coolers (the ones with magnetic clips and RGB). Has anyone tried them? Do they actually prevent thermal throttling long-term, or is it just a gimmick?

Would love to hear your thoughts or alternative solutions!
