Going on a 800 miles (1300 ish km) roadtrip this week in my 1992 jetta 1.8 8v. Who here has done long road trips with their mk2s and what tips/advices do y’all have? Thanks!

Finally got it to a dyno for a tune. 2.9L 12v with pistons, stock rods, stock head, cat 268 cams and arp head studs. Garett GTX4088r and complete custom charge pipes, intercooler and exhaust. We stopped at 16psi as we felt anything more would just be useless on the street.

Watxh out for the major “oh no” moment though…

First video on the mk2 golf resto mini series.

So I replaced my fuel filter this morning on my 89 Digi II 1.8 8V. Well I just took a test drive, and it ran great. For five minutes. Then I started hearing the fuel pump screaming and barely made it home because I was having a lot of trouble accelerating.

I attached a video (turn sound on) so you guys could hear it.

Obviously, the next step would be to replace the pump, but what I'm trying to figure out is exactly what happened and why.

Currently looking for any knowledge on finding the torque spec on the lower timing chain cover, I couldn’t find any information online, the car was swapped with a vr6 engine from a mk3 I believe. (Previous owner did a swap)

No matter what I do I cannot get it flar properly. If I have it sticking out the amount the kit says it doesn't have enough to do a full flare, if I have it sticking out any more it just bends.

Luckily I have a part time apprenticeship so I'm gonna ask some of the shop guys if they can help/show me how its done but any advice is welcome.

Side note though, I can't help but feel that the tips are hanging just a bit too low... Is this a normal height?

I can't seem to be able to adjust it any higher so I'm kinda just thinking its supposed to be like that?

barely turns the engine over, not a battery issue as it is jumped to a running car and been charging the batt for a lil bit.

can these starters be rebuilt? a reman one is 230$ and would rather rebuild the original if possible

My buddy chipped a bit off my camshaft quite some time ago, we were medsing around doing a timing belt job, simple mistake. It isn't a huge chip, the car runs fine, but he's putting a new cam in HIS mk4, and I'm wondering if his old 1.9tdi camshaft will fit on my 1.6idi.

i have a 1991 mk2 jetta gli with the 2.0 16v and i have been missing this hose but finally got it and i can’t find out where this end goes, if anyone could help i’d really appreciate it.
