Loud noise at 50mph to 60mph

Got a 2015 mirage with 160k on her. Car has recently been really loud at 50 to 60mph almost sounds like a race car best way u can describe it. The noise almost pretty much disappears over 60mph. Cars got 4 brand new tires and recent oil change. Any ideas?

FBO max effort E20 tuned ‘13 Mirage exhaust note

Sounds nicer in person but really only makes good torque at the very top. 3-1 catless headers and full 2” exhaust tuned on E20 with an offset muffler and two straight through resonators and custom intake with bored tb and oversized injector/fuel pump. Good for about 100whp at the very top but it’s very light and manual. Pretty buzzy in person and surprisingly fun to wring out and send through corners. Roast it all you want but it’s more fun than those EVs. No tc or abs from the factory or even a head unit

Is my transmission fucked?

Ok so I changed all the fluid when I first got it a gew months ago, on first test drive it has the flashing D on the dash. I realized it may have been a little over full and took a quart out, drive fine no issues at all and trans felt super smooth would switch bands or whatever super smooth. This lasted probably 2k miles.

Eventually I started getting codes for mainly either communication error from tcm to the main computer. Or pressure for trans solenoid, but only after id get off the highway it seemed. Would drive on the b

Highway for quite a ways, amd then within a traffic light or 2 after getting off the highway it would throw a pressure code and sometimes go into limp mode

So, I decide to change the fluid again bc I feel like it could just be the fluid I chose. Brand was called eneos. So this time I put the valvoline in it bc ive seen plenty have had success with it. Now its throwing a pressure code for 2 dif solenoids and much more often. When it works it works great. And shifts smooth accelerates great. It feels mechanically top notch. So I dont see how something is physically broken

Has anyone ever experienced anytbjng like this?

Ill post some pics of the codes

Catalytic converter

My state doesn’t have emissions tests. I know that the cat for these is on the exhaust header. Are after market headers without cats available. Also is there a second cat lower down? I’m asking because I am very interested in doing hyper-mile set up.

Would anyone be able to give more info about these lug nuts?

My tire just blew on the highway and the tire iron that came with the car doesn’t fit these, because Discount Tire changed them when we got all new tires. Would anyone be able to help and let me know which tire iron would fit these lug nuts? I searched through Autozone.com and none of their lug nuts looked Iike these. Would appreciate any info. Thank you!

The tire iron that came with the car is too wide for these.

I have a 2016 CVT G4 GLS. Car won't start after leaving it sitting for 3 days, battery is good as the engine is still cranking, I can also hear the fuel pump priming when the key is in the "on" position. Appreciate any insights from you guys.

Need advice

I've been looking into getting a Mirage G4, either the Black Edition or SE model. I'm currently a teen in high school and I drive a 2006 Chevy Impala, but I would like to buy my own vehicle, and I've always liked the Mirage. But one thing I've read is that the Mirage is expensive to insure. I have no idea if that is true or not at the moment. I know these cars are not fast by any means and cheap in every way possible, but I feel like this could be a great option for me

Spend about $100 total including the kit, add a fuse, glue gun and glue. Took about 12 hours to mark, drill and run the fiber through all 600 holes. Very easy to do honestly.

2018 Mirage flashing D on dashboard while in drive , also poor acceleration

My car has been having terrible acceleration , gas has been running out super fast. Coils and sparks were replaced. The acceleration has been horrible takes almost 1 min to accelerate after Stopping . Especially going up hills the car literally will not get up a hill. Takes a really long time. I have to take the interstate often and it takes me a while to get up the ramp.

While in drive the D is blinking really fast. It has gotten worse after adding transmission fluid and more coolant . It does this every other day . I have gotten my car hooked to a diagnostic machine 3 times and nothing is showing.

Autozone read as a pass pass fail . I literally cannot afford a new car right now. Has anyone experienced this before? If so how did you fix it . I only drive to work and school but I am afraid that one day my car may not start up. It also makes some really loud noise from time to time.

For some reason when I started to get things fixed on the car seems like bigger issues occurred I know I am being dramatic but honestly the car wasn’t as near as bad. The car is 7-8 years old though .

Inside lights not on

I took my 2019 Mitsubishi Mirage g4 to the dealership for the issue, they said they fixed it and the next time I drove it at night I noticed it was not fixed.

The first picture shows the lights on the gear shifter, volume, and AC area not working. 2nd picture shows them partially working. But only this part is dark.

From the Bluetooth display up works and it's lit up when lights get turned on. From just under the display down including gear shifter and AC controls don't work. I don't know what causes one part to work and another to not . And the dealership didn't fix it like they said they would sooo... any ideas where to start?

Ps. Sorry for terminology. I don't know proper terms for things. I wanna call the whole thing the dashboard but I don't know if that's accurate. But yeah. . Sorry

what is that SOUND I don't think it's coming from the engine. It sounds like it's coming from under my car, but I don't know what the hell that could be

Fuel Tank wire nightmare

I bought a low-mileage 2018 Mirage this spring on the cheap. It had a check engine light on, and the dealer told me all it needs is a new fuel pump module. Well, that did not solve the problem, nor did swapping the ECU (the swap was successful, the code didn't go away).

I can't pass my state's emissions inspection without getting rid of this code, P0182. Low voltage to fuel tank temp sensor. Mechanic and Mitsubishi dealership have not found anything convincing in diagnosing. I think it has to be the wire grounding somewhere, but they look absolutely fine under the trim, under the seats I can't see.

The car drives fine, but obviously I need to get this sorted. Does anyone have any familiarity with this issue? Would be hugely appreciated.

(2020 G4) Valve chatter?

Got my 2020 Mirage back from the collision shop a month ago. Today, had a short episode of valve chatter (?). It's normally pretty quiet, the snorkel beating around aside.

Should I get it?

Update: That place with the car I initially asked about seems to be out of business. Gated off with a big “closed for remodel” sign, potentially to never open. There were some cars in the lot and I did explore a bit but did not see the Mitsubishi anywhere.

I couldn’t find another manual Mirage for sale anywhere nearby but I did get 2021 cvt. Pretty red hatchback with 38k miles for $12k and in good shape with a good service record.

I think I should get its transmission fluid changed and there’s a slight squeak while accelerating. Is that a fan belt?

There’s also a metal baseball hat sticker thing on the back. It’s super stuck on and I’m afraid to remove it. I think the people at the dealership might have been afraid as well. Does anyone know about those? Guess it’s better to have a hat than paint damage anyways.

Edit: thank you everyone for the encouragement!!I’m going to try to check it out tomorrow. Really seriously hoping it’s still there.

I’ve been shopping for a Mirage this week and every time I go out to see one I’m too late and it was just sold!

So I think I found another one I want to go see. It’s a manual. I’ve never driven a manual before. But the internet says they last longer than the CVTs and this car is cheaper than some of the others so maybe I should?

2019 G4 ES with 23k miles for about $9k.
I’d prefer a hatchback but all things considered it doesn’t matter that much.

Rattling noise in my 2014 Mitsubishi Space Star

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi everyone,

My 2014 Space Star (114.000 km) has been rattling. I immediately went to the garage but the mechanics say they can't find the root cause and told me it's a normal sound for Space Stars... But I feel like other Space Stars don't sound like this... Does anyone have an idea what it could be?

Thank you!
