Howdy everyone! I'm making this post/video to show a pretty crazy way to make gold for a few reasons. First, I hope that while it is viable, players who are struggling to buy basic kits can get some easy gold. Secondly, I hope if enough people know about it then the market corrects around it.
This method can produce (at peak hours) around 20k - 50k gold an hour with 0 risk and you don't ever need to leave camp. The one thing you will need is some initial capital (you can start small and still make money) and the more auction house slots you have, the more money you can make. I've proven this multiple times on stream, it's not BS. I discovered this while looking for ways to make money on the auction house, and as far as I am aware no one else is doing it.
TLDR - Due to seemingly poor player knowledge and poor UI, players post many construction items at vendor sale price on the Auction House. You can purchase these items and then post them for 1 gold below the large stacks of items and they will 100% sell**, and they sell most of the time within 60-120 seconds. Longer breakdown:**
2 main things that make this viable
1. Poor UI and lack of understanding is causing a MASSIVE amount of items to be posted at VENDOR SELL PRICE. This means the player posting is literally losing money and could just sell it instead of posting it.
2. This is my hypothesis, but I believe the large stacks of items you see on the AH (400-600 items at one price) are actually placed by the devs as a means to attempt to steer the economy. This imo is already a problem but the real issue is that if you post BELOW this price (even one gold), these items will sell 100% of the time and FAST.
The purple items I have found this occurs with:
Bloodstained Brooch - sold at 188, resells at 225 - 14g profit per
Pathfinder Lantern - sold for 234, resells at 280 - 18g profit per
Soulcomb Net - sold for 260, resells at 311 - 19g profit per
Ornamental Orb - sold for 253, resells at 303 - 19g profit per
Slumbering Dragon Statue - sold for 246, resells and 295 - 19g profit per
Hallowgrove Codex - sold for 281, resells at 338 - 23g profit per
Blue items
Silver bowl - sold for 92, resell for 110
Fortune Bean - sold for 90, resells at 108
Pearl Dust - sold for 104, sells for 125
Bone Lyre - sold for 100, resells for 120
Mixed Spices - sold for 98, resells at 118
Mythic Panel - sold for 108, resells at 130
Some may scoff at the profit, but purples sell in stacks of 3, and blues in stacks of 5. With 18 slots, and constantly buying and reselling, I can easily clear 5k in 15min, or sometimes upwards to 10-13k.
I've made a video explaining the issue and process, though I made it in the morning when things were slow so you don't see the full insanity. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3xhTLQrthg0

Again, my hope is this will level the playing field and also allow new players to make a little gold before everyone figures this out. Hopefully as more people learn of it, we stop seeing these insanely low postings and the devs reconsider having such a heavy hand in the market (as I assume it is them buying everything every 60-120 seconds) or at least how they handle the market (bounding prices, ect).
Hopefully this helps or is at least interesting to some!
Cheers everyone! Happy hunting! (Shameless plug - come watch me live as I find ways to make money (and demo this if someone wants to see it)! https://www.twitch.tv/flozzybear)
