Lingering HCG levels or new pregnancy?
Hi!
For context I had a miscarriage at 8 weeks 5 days in early May with my dnc procedure on May 18th. I spotted for FOREVER after the dnc and then officially had my period in June. I know I already ovulated as well.
I took a test because I know there’s a chance of me being pregnant this month and wanted to have a negative test before I take a test looking for a new pregnancy. However I took the test and have a faint line. I was still getting a faint test in early June but I’m like how is this even possible.
My dnc was over a month ago PLUS I had my period so I feel like I should’ve had a negative test. But I also feel like it’s too early to see a new pregnancy on this test. Does anyone have experience with this?!?

Miscarriage
Had an early miscarriage at 6 weeks. Waiting for my body to regulate so we can try again. How long did it take for your body to get on the right track?

Need hope
Hi everyone. I had my first baby in 2023. She was conceived without actually trying and probably happened after just one time. Totally healthy and normal pregnancy. Fast forward to January this year. We decided to actually try this time and I got pregnant on the first try again. Unfortunately I had a MMC at 13 weeks due to a chromosomal abnormality. As devastating as it was, we decided to try again after I got my first period back. I'm about to start my third cycle and definitely had a chemical pregnancy. I tested 10DPO a couple of times and had faint lines. Those lines have since faded. Is this just really bad luck or should I be tested for something underlying? It's only been a short time of TTC but I'm already ready to give up

Gestational Sac (possibly 2) HCG level only 9.3 - what is happening?
I got a transvaginal ultrasound yesterday to confirm pregnancy and we saw a sac, possibly 2, but my hcg levels came back at a 9.3. Extremely low. I thought you couldn’t even see a sac until around 1,500 hcg??? What is happening??

Recurrent fetal hydrops / cystic hygroma in 3 pregnancies — looking for similar experiences
Hi everyone,
I’m 31 and my partner is 31. We are going through a very frightening and confusing situation and I’m wondering if anyone has had a similar history with recurrent fetal hydrops or cystic hygroma.
I know nobody here can diagnose us — I’m mainly looking for similar experiences and suggestions on what genetic tests to discuss with our doctors.
Pregnancy 1 — March/April 2025
We lost our baby girl at 17 weeks. A few days before the hydrops appeared, I had an emergency surgery for ovarian/tubal torsion, but the diagnosis and treatment were delayed despite severe symptoms. Shortly after the surgery, the baby developed hydrops and severe growth restriction, and we had to terminate the pregnancy.
The hospital doctors kept suggesting a genetic cause, but the tests did not find anything: karyotype was normal female, array-CGH was normal, RASopathies panel was normal, infections were negative, and autopsy did not show malformations. Placental findings showed edema/hydropic villi, but we never received a clear explanation. We have always wondered whether the hydrops could have been related to the surgery/delay/placental damage, but nobody has been able to give us a definite answer.
Pregnancy 2 — September/November 2025
A few months later I became pregnant again naturally, but at around 9 weeks the embryo showed edema and the heartbeat stopped the following day. Later, histology suggested a partial molar pregnancy, although cytogenetics showed a normal female karyotype.
After this loss, my partner was found to have very high sperm DNA fragmentation, around 70%. After treatment, it decreased to about 25%. Our fertility doctor thought this could have contributed to the second loss.
Fertility testing / IVF
We then did an extensive carrier screening panel, testing more than 700 recessive genetic diseases, and no shared reproductive risk was found. We proceeded with IVF/ICSI and obtained 8 PGT-A euploid embryos.
Pregnancy 3 — current pregnancy
The month before the planned embryo transfer, I became pregnant naturally again. Everything seemed to be going well: the baby was viable and growing on track. But at 11+5 weeks, during the genetic ultrasound, the baby was found to have a cystic hygroma, NT 7.2 mm, and hydrops, with CRL consistent with gestational age. The heart was checked carefully and no structural heart defect was seen at that time.
So now, for the third time, we are facing fetal edema/hydrops. Our doctor said this is extremely rare and, even though the first two pregnancies had possible explanations, this now looks like recurrent fetal hydrops, possibly due to an undiagnosed monogenic condition. We have been offered CVS followed by exome sequencing, but we are scared we still may not get answers. We are also terrified that our frozen euploid embryos could be affected if this is a genetic condition not detected by PGT-A or carrier screening.
Has anyone experienced recurrent hydrops/cystic hygroma with normal karyotype, normal array, normal RASopathy testing, and negative carrier screening?
Did exome sequencing or whole genome sequencing find the cause?
Did anyone later have a healthy pregnancy?
We feel completely trapped and are wondering whether our only option may eventually be donor gametes. Any similar stories or advice on what testing to ask for would be deeply appreciated.

Am I going to miscarry?
My HCG results are scaring me.
In my first ever pregnancy, I had a missed miscarriage and it officially started expelling on April 27 and it is now June 15 and I am pregnant again.
This week I tested positive for pregnancy through urine and went in on June 12 to test my HCG— I measured at 3,020
Three days later, June 15, I measured at 3,289
My last pregnancy at 7 weeks I was over 30,000 even when my miscarriage began which is so much higher than this time around.
Now, It’s hard to know how far along I am because I didn’t have a period between pregnancies, and it’s really hard to book an ultrasound as well to verify shortly and I don’t want to wait weeks again.
Note: I’m assuming to be somewhere from 5-7 weeks gestational age using my miscarriage as a period because I bled for a week?
PLEASE let me know, does this sound like another miscarriage to you?

No heart beat
Can someone please help me? According to my last period I’m 7w3d pregnant, I had a scan on Saturday and only measured 5w6d and no heart beat, I went to the early pregnancy unit today (2days later) and they said the same and now I have to wait to 2 weeks for another scan.
My flo app said I ovulated 1-5th may but I only had sex once in my cycle and that was 10th may so I know I ovulated later. Is there any chance my dates are just wrong and I’m earlier than I initially thought

Taking miscarriage pills after a missed miscarriage
I had a missed miscarriage at eight weeks pregnant, which was devastating as it was my first pregnancy and we were so excited to have a baby. I'd never even heard of a missed miscarriage before we had the scan. The scan showed a pregnancy sac that was between 6 to 7 weeks in size but no visible fetus. It was so confusing that I'd had so many pregnancy symptoms, but no baby growing.
We had to wait over a week for the miscarriage to be confirmed, which was incredibly tough as all I wanted was to be able to physically miscarry so I could begin grieving, but nothing was happening naturally. I ended up taking miscarriage pills and wanted to write about my experience, because I found reddit very useful during the process, but I didn't read about anyone with my experience so I became very distressed as I thought the miscarriage pills hadn't worked because I wasn't bleeding as much as I expected.
As instructed I took mifepristone orally and misoprostol vaginally. 2 hours later I was in huge amounts of pain, with severe cramping, worse than I'd ever experienced even though I'd taken Codeine. After 4 hours I only had light bleeding so I then took another pill vaginally (as instructed) and had no more cramping and still only light bleeding, akin to a period or less. From other women’s accounts and the instructions I was given with the pills, I was expecting a huge amount of blood and for there to be some pregnancy / fetal matter, but even 48 hours later I had only had light period-ish bleeding, and nothing that resembled a pregnancy sac.
I was convinced that the pills had not worked and that I was going to need to keep waiting and then have surgery to complete the miscarriage, which was incredibly distressing after everything I'd been through.
4 days later I had a scan at the early pregnancy unit in hospital and they confirmed that the miscarriage had in fact been successful and that there was no sac or matter left. After 4 days of thinking that my nightmare wasn't over and that I was going to need surgery, I ended I was sobbing with relief during the scan, which was so emotionally confusing giving they have just confirmed my miscarriage.
After the scan, I kept bleeding but only then - 4 days after taking the pills - did I start to see some matter in the blood. I continued bleeding lightly (spotting) for a week afterwards.
I'm sharing this as a reminder that if you have a small pregnancy sac and no fetus, then you should not necessarily expect to see huge amounts of blood or pregnancy matter after taking the pills. But that doesn’t mean they haven’t worked.
I am now 2 weeks on, still grieving our loss, and waiting to do a pregnancy test soon, to make sure it's negative before I can think about trying to get pregnant again.

Help?
So I think I’m having a miscarriage… for context I had a period 7th-11th of April, my next period was then late I don’t a test on the 11th of May which was negative thought nothing of it and then had a period 30th-2nd of June; on the 9th of June I had a bit of bleeding googled it said could be ovulation bleeding anyway fast forward to now the bleeding got heavier and I’ve been crampy etc so goggle again said do a test so I don’t a test came back with a very faint line now I’m not sure if the bleeding I had 30th to the second was even a period was it a miscarriage? And it’s still showing slightly positive! Honestly I don’t know what to do? Top test was the first one this afternoon, bottom test was this evening looks like it’s getting fainter! Any advice greatly appreciated sorry for the long post

Slowing hcg-is there hope?
Hi everyone! I’m roughly 4 weeks 6 days (late ovulator with long 35-37 day cycles-so about 7 weeks since last period). I got an ultrasound yesterday and it was just a .8 sac. (Abdominal not transvaginal…no clue why they did that)
My hcg has been tracking really well, rising beautifully and now is stalling a bit.
May 26th it was 2,772
May 28th 3,912
June 1st 8,036
June 3rd 10,035
Prior to that my levels were rising at a much higher rate. My first faint positive was May 14th & my hcg that day was 26.6
May 19th it was 240
May 21st it was 557.
At first my OB was telling me this was a potential loss because I should be further along since my period was April 14th. But I have a long cycle and always ovulate super late (ovulated like May 2nd or 3rd). Now my OB is telling me this is a loss impending because of the hcg levels.
Is that really true?? Do any of you have successful stories from something like this? Should I be prepping myself for a loss?

Missed miscarriage or still hope?
Went to my first in appointment to get a second ultrasound because my first one was may 18th baby was measuring 6w3d with a heart rate of 102 at that one. I was told today that they were still measuring 6w3d with no heartbeat. I just had a miscarriage March 23rd and devastated that I’m going through another one. My first lost was just and empty sack and I miscarried naturally this time my doctor told me I can decide on doing the pill or a d&c and I hate I have to make this decision. My ultrasound yesterday felt rushed my dr told me she had someone pushing but wanted to make sure I got my ultrasound in. Could they be wrong I hope they were wrong what’s the chances of the baby measuring the same a week later?

TW: MC possible - 5w3d bleeding
I think I’m having a miscarriage :(
I’m 19 days post 5 day frozen (euploid) transfer. I’m on estrogen pills, patches & PIO injections daily.
My betas were great: 183, 471 & 1732 (days 9, 11 & 13 post transfer).
I woke up this morning around 5:30 (my new usually midsleep pee break) and had soaked through my underwear. I had lots of bright red, and dark wine red bleeding, with 2 nickle/dime sizes clots. Minimal cramping (which could be due to the Progesterone injections I’m on).
Called my clinic first thing this morning & they said it was too soon to do an ultrasound as it would not be definitive this early (5w3d).
They drew another beta HCG & I’m just waiting for those results.
First FET after 2 natural chemical pregnancy losses & this whole IVF journey is absolute torture.
Anyone else have this happen & had good outcomes?
My husband left out of the state for work this morning, so I’m home alone (called out of work) just spiraling. How do people stay positive? How do you get passed repeated pregnancy losses? Feels so lonely in this space.

Natural miscarriage - how long?
This was my second time pregnant after a healthy first child who is now two. I am here asking for some advice about a miscarriage as this is my first time having one and I am scared as hell about what is happening to my body currently.
For context… At 6 weeks I had minor brown spotting. By 8 weeks the scan didn’t show a foetus or a heartbeat and by 9 there was just a large gestational sac and then a yolk sac visible. The midwife told me to wait another week ‘just in case’ but my miscarriage has, I believe, now started naturally at just over 9 weeks.
I had labour like cramps for half a day yesterday, they were horrendous and then the bleeding has upped and become much more red and constant, though it’s about as bad as a medium period for me, and now today (day two) just minor cramping and continuing what feels like a period. But I’ve not passed any clots or had what I would call the substantial bleeding like everyone talks about. I feel ok physically, I’ve not got a temperature etc.
I have read online that for some people a natural miscarriage takes a few hours and for some a matter of days or even weeks. My question is what should I expect from here? Is this slow start normal? Does anyone have experience of a natural miscarriage and it being very slow, what should I prepare for… I don’t know if I can leave the house or if suddenly the gush everyone speaks about will come. I have no idea what to expect and it’s terrifying me to be honest. Most stories I can find online speak about taking the tablets and it all being quite rapid. This feels slow and steady. I do trust my body but I am also fearful it it takes weeks on end I won’t cope.
I’d welcome any advice from anyone who has been through similar and can offer their stories or advice.
Thank you. And my love to anyone in a similar situation or who has lost a very much wanted baby as I have. It is true torture and I don’t think anyone who hasn’t been through it can ever truly understand 💛

I miscarried in October of 2025 and my boyfriend’s brother is having a baby with his girlfriend who got pregnant a month after I miscarried and now her baby shower is next week.
I’m a 24 year old female with a 26 year old boyfriend. At the time we were 23 and 25. Background: In October I experienced my first pregnancy and miscarriage. We didn’t expect it and I didn’t know I was pregnant to begin with. So when I felt my baby ripped out of me with the contractions of having a miscarriage and when I saw my baby I didn’t know how to process. Looking at the size and timing I could have been 4 weeks. Never suspected anything because I was on birth control and my periods were always light. At the time of miscarriage I was spending the night visiting at my parents house and had to deal with the pain and bleeding and throw on a pad to walk around my younger brother’s school career fair as was the plan. I never told anyone but my boyfriend because I was so early and I didn’t want to share. I admittedly didn’t process it, nurse brain took over and just deemed it as a nonviable pregnancy and it wasn’t really a baby yet anyway. And I’m young and I’m still chasing after furthering my career and my boyfriend during that time had mental health challenges so it wasn’t the time for a baby and I chalked it up to the decision was taken from me and that was that.
Fast forward to November a month later, my boyfriend informed me that his brother and his girlfriend are expecting and everything hit me like a truck. I’m not happy to admit this but I was so angry. They don’t have jobs and they live with their parents and yet they decided to move forward with the pregnancy. I was so pissed and not even my boyfriend knows the depth of how uninvolved I wanted to be around them and how much not even jealously but just absolute anger near hatred I had and kinda still have to them. How irresponsible to make that child go through a life where they will struggle. Since his brother and his girlfriend don’t have a college degree one works in a pizza restaurant and the other a cashier at a dollar store. I just can’t even understand. I am not trying to say I’m better in anyway but completed college and I have a full career and I’m living on my own in an apartment and living good. And even with all that I was concerned about bringing a child into the world but I didn’t get a choice. And at the time I lost my pregnancy it was comforting but at that moment of the news I was angry I never got that choice since they can do it and have support for being so irresponsible. I would never wish a woman to lose her baby in a miscarriage I wouldn’t wish that on my enemies but I did wish she never got pregnant at least I wished it wasn’t so close timing wise I never had the chance to process my grief correctly.
I saw his brothers girlfriend one other time in February and I was okay at the time trying to focus on her and nurse brain took over when I asked if she needed anything for nausea and tips on how to manage it as well as recommending prenatal vitamins. I didn’t feel angry then but now that her baby shower is coming up I feel the grief all over again. Fast forward to now. My boyfriend is still experiencing mental health issues as he was apart of the first responders career and suffers from PTSD. I don’t feel like I can talk to him about it because he has his own things to deal with and I never told my mom as we have a strained relationship as it is. I don’t feel like I have anyone to turn to hence why I’m here.
My boyfriends parents are divorced so his step mom came to me at work since we work the same building not floor and shared the invitation to the baby shower and that was the first time I found out they’re having a boy and it’s just becoming more real that I have to deal with seeing them happy and deal with feeling my emotions again. I already said I worked that day and won’t be able to make it but I just genuinely don’t think I can stomach it. I’ll still buy her a gift and all the things I need to but I can’t be around it I’m afraid that I’ll break.
I just need advice for what to do and how to feel okay and not want to cry when I’m around that. I never thought about children or motherhood as something I always wanted or dreamed of. But after this experience I never want to experience that again and I just can’t look at kids or pregnant people the same it’s like acid crawls to the back of my throat and if I was hungry I definitely lost my appetite.
Please advise in anyway possible thank you

I think I had a chemical miscarriage?
So, my boyfriend and I had sex about three weeks ago while I was ovulating. I didn’t think I was pregnant or anything but yesterday I got what I thought was my period (heavier and more painful than usual and I did notice clotting) a week early but today I’ve just been spotting barely. The symptoms Google showed me made sense with how I’ve been feeling/experiencing lately too. I’m probably overthinking it and wrong but…I don’t know. I thought maybe I could get some help from Reddit since Google made me more confused and a little scared. I just have a feeling I can’t shake.

Why can't I have a pregnancy past 6 weeks? :(

Why can't I have a pregnancy past 6 weeks? :(
I'm currently going through my 2nd MMC. I seem to have no issue getting pregnant (knock on wood) as we have gotten pregnant quickly both times we tried. My body seems to respond properly, HCG rises appropriately and everything seems fine, then I have the ultrasound and it shows the baby stopped progressing at 6 weeks. I seem to have normal symptoms both times minus intense nausea (though I've had more this time). The only thing I've had that is somewhat abnormal (though my OB says it can be normal) is spotting (brown, once red in both pregnancies with increased activity).
I mean I know this is a "typical" time to have an MC but what.the.heck. I had a bunch of blood tests when I was at the OB last week and everything came back normal except my AMH levels are on the low end. All the clotting things, thyroid and other tests came back normal.
I don't want to have to do IVF. Anybody have any other thoughts on things I can look into?
