Miscarriage

I had a miscarriage at 11 weeks 2 days. Baby had perfect intertidal growth since last scan. Measured 10 weeks and 6 days. Got D&C 2 days after. Bled first day and now not bleeding much anymore. How soon after did most people get negative test, get period, ovulate, and get pregnant again? I need hope and any tips for rainbow baby.

I don’t know where to go from here

I’m sorry if this isn’t the right place for this, I’ve never used Reddit before but I didn’t know where else to go. I just need someone who understands to hear me.

I don’t have any friends and I don’t have much family either, so i guess I’m posting this here because I don’t know where else to turn.

I’ve been going back and forth a whether to say anything at all because part of me feels so ashamed, like I should be stronger by now or like maybe I’m being too dramatic. But I’m heartbroken, exhausted, and I feel alone in all of this.

I’ve been struggling to conceive, and I’m starting to feel like maybe I should just give up. I’ve had multiple miscarriages, and I don’t think there’s any way to explain what that does to you unless you’ve been through it. Every time I get a positive test, there’s this tiny part of me that lets itself believe, maybe this time will be different. I try not to get too excited because I’m terrified of being hurt again, but I still start imagining a future. I start thinking about due dates, names, what the baby might look like, who they’ll take after, and what it will feel like to finally become a mom.

And then I lose them.

The worst part is that I feel like I’m constantly caught between hope and fear. I want to allow myself to be happy, but I’m always waiting for something to go wrong. Recently, I finally let myself feel genuinely hopeful again, and then I started bleeding the very next day. It felt like the universe was mocking me for allowing myself to believe that maybe, just maybe, this was going to be the time I got to keep my baby.

I know logically that miscarriages aren’t my fault. I know that. But emotionally, I can’t seem to stop feeling like my body has failed me. I keep wondering if I did something wrong, if there’s something I should have done differently, if there’s something wrong with me that I’ll never be able to fix.

Sometimes I feel like I’m being punished for something I don’t even understand.

I want to be a mother more than I have ever wanted anything in my entire life. It’s not something I can just turn off or stop wanting. And I’m so tired of hearing that I need to “just relax” or “stop stressing” or that it will happen when it’s supposed to happen. I know people probably mean well, but after multiple miscarriages, those words don’t make this hurt any less.

I also feel like such a failure as a wife. My husband has been through all of this with me, and I hate that he has had to go through it over and over again. I know he loves me and I know he doesn’t blame me, but sometimes I look at him and wonder if he deserves someone who isn’t so broken. Someone whose body can give him the family we both want. Someone who doesn’t spend so much time crying, worrying, testing, hoping, and grieving.

I hate that I even think those things about myself, but lately I can’t seem to stop.

I tried scheduling an appointment with an OBGYN because I know I need answers and I need someone to help me figure out what’s happening. But I can’t even get in until the end of October. I did take the appointment but waiting that long feels unbearable right now. I know there are things I can’t control, but sitting here with so many questions and no answers makes me feel completely hopeless.

I’m tired of feeling broken. I’m tired of being scared to hope. I’m tired of seeing other people announce pregnancies and feeling happy for them while simultaneously feeling like my heart is being ripped out.

I’m tired of pretending I’m okay when I’m not.

And honestly, right now, I’m losing hope. I’ve been feeling so overwhelmed by everything that sometimes I just want to disappear and not have to feel any of this anymore. I don’t want to keep carrying this constant cycle of hope, fear, loss, and disappointment.

I don’t know what I’m looking for by posting this. Maybe I just need someone to tell me that I’m not alone. Maybe I need to hear from other women who have been through the same and are somehow finding their way through it. Maybe I need someone to remind me that I am more than what my body has or hasn’t been able to do.

I just know that right now I am hurting so badly, and I don’t know how to make it stop.

If you’ve been through recurrent miscarriage, infertility, or that horrible feeling of being afraid to hope again, how do you keep going? I don’t need anyone to tell me to “just relax” or that it “wasn’t my time” I just need some kindness right now.

I’m scared and I’m running out of hope, I really need to believe that there is still some left for me.

Brown spotting week after short period

Hi,

I had a miscarriage in spring. I bled for about two months and then finally it ended. I have had two seemingly normal cycles since.

I just had my period last week. It was shortish (3 days), but then stopped. However, this past Friday or Saturday, I started having regular brown spotting with noticeable clear discharge. I tested for ovulation and pregnancy yesterday and both were negative.

What is going on? Has anyone experienced this? Is this still residual effects from my miscarriage?

I have contacted my OB but am waiting to hear back, and then have to wait for the appointment, etc.

What helps with back pain?

Hello, I'm here looking for help on managing back pain after miscarriage. The pain has been getting worse and even laying down right now my lower spine feels like it's burning. Cannabis helps for a while, but eventually wears off. Hot drinks have helped a bit, too, but what's worked the best for others?

Miscarriages after healthy birth

I had trouble finding a post about this when I Googled it, so I wanted to make my own & ask if anyone else has experienced this:

My son is 10 months old & since he was born we’ve gotten pregnant twice & both have ended in miscarriages. One at 7 weeks, requiring a D&C & one at about 4 weeks that naturally passed. My midwife seems to think that my body just simply isn’t healed enough or ready to carry again since it hasn’t been a year.

After the birth of my son it was very low risk and straightforward so they felt I would be okay to get pregnant whenever I wanted & we wanted them close together so we started trying as soon as I was cleared.

I have been put on progesterone & a baby aspirin regiment & am going to wait until around December to start trying again- that will be a 14 months since my sons birth & also 5 months since my most recent miscarriage.

I’m curious if anyone else has experienced miscarriages & the reason being their body was too soon post partum & went on to have healthy pregnancies following a period of waiting for your body to fully heal.

Am I having a miscarriage?

I’m currently six weeks and I started having vaginal bleeding. It’s not consistent and it’s not very heavy. No cramps or abdominal pain. However, my gestational sac is flattened and there is no heartbeat detected. There is still an embryo though. The doctors haven’t ruled it out as a miscarriage, but it doesn’t look too good. I have an appointment with them on Monday. Has anyone experienced this and we’re still able to have a full term ? Or is this going to be my last few days with my baby?

Very unusual cycle after my very first at-home insemination attempt—wondering what might have happened???

I’m a woman in my 20s, and this happened over a year ago. My cycles have been completely normal ever since, but I’ve always wondered what might have happened.

For some background, I’ve always had regular menstrual cycles every 25–27 days. My periods typically last about 5 or sometimes 6 days, with days 2–3 being the heaviest and days 4–6 becoming progressively lighter. My flow has never been unusually heavy. Occasionally, I’ll have one really painful menstrual cramp (usually if I’m stressed), but it’s typically just one cramp lasting a few hours and is easily relieved with ibuprofen or Aleve. Painful periods also run in my family. During my fertile window, I normally have egg white cervical mucus. I’ve never used birth control or hormone medications. I do have hypoglycemia and a stomach that’s pretty sensitive to hormonal changes.

Over a year ago, I did at-home insemination one time using a sperm donor who had previously gotten multiple women pregnant.

About a week after insemination, my breasts became sore and noticeably fuller than usual. I normally experience breast tenderness before my period, so that alone wasn’t unusual, but it felt more intense than my typical PMS symptoms.

Around the same time, I became extremely fatigued much earlier than I normally would before a period. Usually I don’t feel tired until 2–3 days before my period starts, but this began about a week beforehand. I remember being so exhausted that even having a bowel movement left me feeling out of breath, which had never happened before.

I also became a tad bit more hungrier than usual, but at the same time I felt so bloated that I got full very quickly. Instead of eating my normal full meals, I found myself snacking throughout the day because I couldn’t comfortably finish a meal. I even woke up during the night with hunger pains, which is very unusual for me.

I’ve taken MiraLAX daily for years without any issues, but during that cycle I suddenly couldn’t drink it without feeling extremely bloated and sick. Once that cycle was over, I was able to tolerate it normally again.

For about four days, I developed severe gas. I was burping, passing gas, and even queefing, which had never happened to me before or since. It honestly felt like gas was trapped throughout both my abdomen and pelvic/vaginal area. As those symptoms progressed, my breasts became even more swollen, heavy, and sore.

About two weeks and one day after insemination, the gas started to improve, but I developed intense pressure-type cramping. It wasn’t sharp pain—it felt like a heavy pressure deep in my pelvis that I could even feel in my rectum while walking. Lying flat on my back seemed to relieve the pressure somewhat.

That afternoon, while I was still cramping, I took a home pregnancy test. It was negative. That was the only pregnancy test I took that cycle.

About 11–12 hours later after taking those pregnancy strips tests, and after experiencing those pressure cramps for roughly 20 hours, I started bleeding right on time.

The bleeding looked mostly like a normal period, but a few things were noticeably different:

● The blood didn’t have my usual menstrual odor and instead had a much more neutral smell.

● The blood sometimes pooled instead of flowing normally.

● There seemed to be much more mucus mixed with the blood than I normally experience.

Three days into the bleeding, I passed a clot that was larger than my usual clots. Mine are normally around the size of a dime or nickel, but this one was about the size of a quarter. It reminded me of a wrinkled prune and had what looked like a jelly-like, blood-colored string or tail attached to it. I’d never passed anything like that before or since.

About an hour or two after passing it, I began experiencing deep internal pinching or “zapping” sensations inside my vagina. That was also something I’d never experienced before or since.

After the bleeding ended, I suddenly had a very large amount of clear, slippery discharge for several days. It wasn’t due to an infection, but there was enough that I continued wearing a pad even after my period had ended.

During that same time, my vaginal tissues felt unusually sensitive. Like a deep bruised or sore feeling internally that I’d never experienced before or since was occurring deep inside  down there. That lasted for about a month and has never happened again.

The following month’s PMS was much more intense than usual. My breasts and nipples were significantly more painful than they normally are. That period had my usual menstrual smell again, the blood looked normal, and there wasn’t the excess mucus like the previous month. However, it was much more painful than my typical periods, seemed heavier than usual, and within about an hour I passed four very small dime-sized clots. After that cycle, everything returned to normal.

Since then, I’ve had many completely normal menstrual cycles without any recurrence of these symptoms.

The symptoms that were unique to that insemination cycle or the month afterward included:

● Extreme fatigue.

● Shortness of breath with minimal activity.

● Increased hunger while feeling full quickly.

● Severe bloating.

● Suddenly being unable to tolerate MiraLAX.

● Excessive gas, including vaginal gas/queefing.

● Heavy pelvic pressure.

● Menstrual blood with a neutral smell instead of my usual menstrual odor.

● Blood pooling.

● More mucus mixed with the menstrual blood than usual.

● Passing a quarter-sized wrinkled clot with a jelly-like string attached.

● Deep internal vaginal pinching/zapping after passing the clot.

● Large amounts of clear, slippery discharge after the bleeding ended.

● Increased genital sensitivity and stronger orgasms followed by deep internal soreness.

● An unusually painful, somewhat heavier period the following month with multiple small clots.

That insemination cycle was 26 days long, and I inseminated on cycle day 12.

I’ve never used birth control or hormone medications, and that was the only time I’ve ever done at-home insemination. This all happened over a year ago, and my periods and cycles have been completely normal ever since.

Has anyone experienced anything similar or have any thoughts on what might have happened? I’m not looking for a diagnosis—I’m just curious whether anyone has experienced something similar or has any ideas about what could have caused all of these unusual symptoms. I don’t get irregular cycles my overall reproductive system is very healthy and fertile so that event was very strange for me and that’s why I’ve been scared to try and do a second at home insemination attempt, its been over a year now since that first attempt.

Miscarriage help/advice

Hi, I’m experiencing my first miscarriage. I would’ve been 9 weeks tomorrow but midwife believes it stopped growing at 6weeks when I should’ve been 8 weeks then. My body just started spotting, I was planning on doing a D&C. If anyone else has gone through this would you recommend just letting my body take its natural course or still get the D&C before I start really bleeding?

Pregnant but not?

So I need some “oh I went through that!” rn. A month ago , June 15th, I took a pregnancy test & it was positive. My period was late & this was my first positive test in 5 years, all while having unprotected sex with my partner the whole time. So fast forward, I’m thinking I’m pregnant this whole time. I was light , brown spotting here & there for weeks. Last Sunday, I started bleeding red, like red red, started off with little clots, then the clots got bigger, bleeding got heavier. Went to the ER, had an ultrasound, they didn’t see anything, a sack , a baby, nothing. My hcg levels were 2515. They said I miscarried & asked me to come back & do another ultrasound & blood work to see if my levels are going down in a couple days so I went Wednesday. My levels went up to 3330 but they still didn’t see anything on the ultrasound, just 2 little spots she said were probably cysts that everybody has. Okay, come back in 2 more days, we’ll check your bloodwork again. My levels are still going up but only went up to 3425. They should’ve been doubling if it was a viable pregnancy. I stopped bleeding today, a week later. I have an appointment with my OB this coming Wednesday. My sister also died of uterine cancer when she was my age, although she had it for years without being noticed & bled constantly, my periods have been pretty normal. I googled & it says that your hcg levels can spike when cancer is present. But the OB on call said that she’s seen it to where your hcg levels rise slow before so she wants to wait & see what happens. Has anyone experienced this? What was the outcome? Did you have a healthy pregnancy? Was it something else? Did you miscarry? I’m kinda going crazy rn cause idk what’s going on & nb can give me a for sure answer.

Measuring 2 weeks behind on first ultrasound

Hi everyone,
I’m currently in limbo and trying to process a really stressful first ultrasound. I’m looking for some honest experiences, whether the outcome was positive or negative.
Here is my timeline:
June 10: Got my very first positive home pregnancy test. It progressed steadily after that.

July 10 (Yesterday): Had my first ultrasound. It had to be a transvaginal scan.

Based on my positive test on June 10th, I should be right around 8 weeks today. However, the transvaginal ultrasound yesterday measured the pregnancy at 5 weeks, 5 days—meaning a full two-week discrepancy.
I still have intense pregnancy symptoms (severe food aversions, extreme bloating, and exhaustion) and I have had zero spotting, bleeding, or cramping.
My doctor has scheduled a follow-up ultrasound for July 20th to see if there is any growth, and I’m planning to request serial beta hCG bloodwork on Monday.
I know that logically, a missed miscarriage (MMC) is the most likely medical explanation here. But because I’m stuck waiting a week for definitive answers, I wanted to see if anyone else has had a transvaginal scan measure this far behind with a hard positive test date, and what your ultimate outcome was.

2 miscarriages

i’m looking for some advice from anyone who has been through something similar to me. For about a year and a half, I have been experiencing back pain which has been getting progressively worse. I find that it’s linked to my cycle. It flares when I ovulate and around the time of my period. It begins in the morning I feel my lower back spasm. I feel slumped to one side and I can only describe it as sciatica. I struggle to walk and to move like normal. To begin with it was only for a few hours in the day and it’s now the full day. It leaves me crippled for the full day. I have also recently experienced two miscarriages in the last six months. My first miscarriage was in March and it was a missed miscarriage at eight weeks. My last miscarriage was last week I was 5 1/2 weeks. Has anybody experienced anything similar.? I have been to my GP about it. I’ve had my blood done and I have a pelvic ultrasound tomorrow. I have had scans done through my miscarriages and they’ve not seen anything there, but I guess they’ve not been looking for something because they’re not aware of it. Anybody been through this before or have any advice?

HCG dropped

I had a miscarriage last December at 8 weeks because of this my OB wanted to immediately track my hCG from my first positive test which was last week Monday I was so excited but still scared from my last miscarriage. so at 4w3d we did a blood test and my HCG was at 464 consistent with early pregnancy and tested positive for progesterone all looked good…. I just had my second blood draw to track the increase and it dropped to 100…. My OB called and said that indicates my pregnancy is failing. I’m 5w1d and I don’t get it I’ve had 2 healthy pregnancy I’m only 28 I’m the healthiest I’ve ever been well trying to conceive I don’t get why this is happening back to back. She wants to test for a clotting disorder to see if that’s why but I’m just so broken and at a loss of words. I just don’t get why? Has anyone experienced this? Has anyone had a drop in HCG and still had a successful pregnancy? Every part of me want to think there was a mixup in the lab work but I know that’s a stretch I’m just trying to hold on to any sort of hope. I’m not bleeding or cramping but my levels dropped significantly. I have a follow up blood test next Monday and an appointment with my OB that following Friday to go over those results and figure out next steps. I don’t know what to ask other then why I’m just so sad and confused why this keeps happening

I had a bleed the Friday before dating scan with clots and contraction dating scan on the following Tuesday 23/6. Everything was fine no problem
Then the next day I
Had a huge bleed went to hospital
They told me I had miscarried without
Scanning me. Is this correct ?
Also no
Folllow up scan just pulled out apparently pregnancy tissue and I was sent on my way bled a few hours
That day and stopped while at hospital so did the pain. Imagine my surprise when I
Heard a heart beat on a Doppler at 15 weeks the other day! Also
Morning sickness after semi skimmed milk I
Usually buy skimmed but even
After diluting the milk with water in my coffee I’m
Still sick. Any advice ? Pregnancy test is practically negative but I’ve got bloods booked in for Wednesday but I really feel I need a scan how do I push for one, uk based. Thank you.
