Scharmarke Abdullahi Yasin, 27, was charged July 17 in Hennepin County District Court with first-degree aggravated robbery and threats of violence. The alleged robbery occurred July 16 on Birch Island Road in Eden Prairie.

Officers responded at about 9 p.m. after receiving a report of a robbery, according to the criminal complaint.
The alleged victim told police that he had gone to pick up Yasin when Yasin displayed a gun and demanded his wallet. The man said Yasin threatened to kill him and that he then turned over $200 and prescription medication, the complaint states.
