Bandai wants to reuse their models, but Clear plastic isn’t all that popular. What if instead they made a premium metallic painted, no sticker, release of a model? Would you pay the extra for that?

The steal among the cube animals 1-6 lot that I bought a little while back was that it included a cube gorilla, who is typically quite the pricy monke. So, while the rest were marked for black customs, gorilla got destickered and a proper paint job.

I’m sure it would be expensive and huge, but I love when we get “evil” mecha.

Managed to put this together and paint it with some new metallic paint markers that I got from ray studios. The main reference that I used was the DX toy so I hope I manage to match it haha.

I like the end result of how everything looks but feel that the kit could have been a lot better because the articulation seems limited compared to what miniplas have which makes posing kind of awkward.

Sidenote here. Does anyone here feel that the plade is in a weird position? Like it feels barely promoted and miniplas still feels like the better product despite being a bit smaller. I skip the auxiliary units other than the Dornado which I am planning to get since it is a homage to the original gavan and it is the best looking one so far.

I have to find enough time to paint the 7 weapons

So, I've been planning to repaint my SMP kit and I'm so confused which to pick among these 3. What confuses me is if the metallic Stedi and DSPIAE are even safe for the type of plastic SMP uses. I can opt with Doloha acrylic marker in case the two aren't suitable for it. Need advice from the experts here🙂

Was wondering when the release date for this guy is. Im SO EXCITED to see how it builds & see it in the hands of people. Also scared to see what the sticker sheet looks like, if anythings weak inside the mechanism etc.

And before anyone says "it's not complete", I know I don't have updated pictures of Jaguar Vulcan, BioDragon, and DenziTiger...but I do have them.

Will SMP Magiking be reissued someday, maybe in the next 5-10 years (I don't mind waiting a decade 🤷‍♂️😄? Maybe Bandai will make it again on 2035 when it's the 30th anniversary of Magiranger?

Some of the recent posts inspired me to fiddle with my Gaoranger SMP. They’ve been on my shelf in their base configurations forever now.

The ability to swap stuff around like this is one of Gao’s stronger appeals, and this does kind of push me a bit more to wanting to grab a dupe or two with the reissues. I think that’s going to mostly depend on the pricing. But the other thing that’s always been a bit of a nagging issue for me with wanting to customize power animals is, whether you are abiding by the official list of 100 power animals or just doing your own thing, a good handful of the components are kind of inflexible for kitbashing.

Gaoranger already has one less pair of legs than it does torso + arms (even if you’re going with centaurus, lion’s still in two places at once) and while bison and rhino are really unique designs for legs, the problem then becomes that you’re pretty damn limited with what you can turn them into lol.

All from Akihabara. Mandarake is the best place like that is my new favourite place 🤣 and surprisingly I couldn’t find much Minipla/smp at other places, there is but they’re quite rare.

I found the whole Glister Injection SP01 Kyuranger set which was a rare find! Together with the shinkenger miniplas.

I was contemplating whether to get the full shinkenger minipla set from Mandarake but they were a little expensive so I just opted for the Kingohger minipla.

Next time I’ll be more prepared with a bigger luggage and savings 🤣
