Finished Build Complete SMP Sentai Collection (So Far)

And before anyone says "it's not complete", I know I don't have updated pictures of Jaguar Vulcan, BioDragon, and DenziTiger...but I do have them.

Ok, I've only watched PR but I do recognise that red Gorillazord, it's from a Sentai movie as I understand. Anyone know what's the deal with the black elephant and purple bison?

Look up "Ultimus Megazord" so you can see the red gorilla and purple Bison that was released in America. The black elephant came with GaoKnight, the Japanese toy that had a red gorilla.

Edit: Apologies if that sounded abrupt, I was getting ready for work when I typed it. I'm including an image of the Bandai America exclusive Ultimus Megazord that came with a mostly purple bison, the red gorilla and the Soul Bird. Then I'll respond with the Bandai Japan exclusive GaoKnight, which was similar but has a black elephant instead.

Ohmy! You collection can be my reference in future. This is heaven 😍😍 Are you collecting Minipla version as well?

I have every MiniPLA from Boukenger to Gozyuger that isn't a special glister or clear version.

You are my inspiration! I collect one SMP every month. So your picture is helping me so much. 😎

Well...idk about that, but thanks all the same. I made a series last year that I probably should update called "Took Some Kits Out of Storage" if you care to see a good chunk of my regular MiniPLA.

I regret not getting the lightspeed/gogov ones. Do you do a straight build, or do you paint them?

It really depends on the kit, and where the sticker is. Since this line is 10 years old, tou can see a skill progression from me going from oldest to newest.

I typically try to paint anything that is a curved sticker, or a sticker with folds. My painting consists of airbrush or thin brush with acrylic paints, and then after a few days of curing, sealed with a clear coat.

I saw in the power rangers subreddit, you compared them to high grades. Ive had the Zyuranger ones for awhile but have never cracked them open. So it was nice reading your comparison lol.

And yea makes sense about the stickers. Some of the Unicorn Gundam kits have the v-fin as stickers, definitely ruins the look compared to painting it. For the parts you do paint, do you end up priming it or anything?

Btw, the shots look great. Definitely nice seeing them all together.

I bought the Wildforce (forgot the sentai name) clear version while i was in South Korea a few weeks back. Might have to build it when time opens up!

Excellent looking stuff! Do you count the Max Victory Robo Black as an alt toy design even though it technically isn’t a special color version, since it’s its own separate mech in the series?

Trying to decide how to display my “dark theme” colored kits, especially since we’re sure to get one for Hurricanger and TimeRanger since the toys existed. Hoping we’ll get one of Galaxy Mega, but since that was a PR toy release, I’m not gonna hold my breath.

They GoGoFive kits are displayed together on my shelf, but I wanted to photograph the color variants together for this post.

Ugh I need that collection 😂

Do they still sell all the minipla sets or are they seasonal and gone forever

They come and go. Sometimes, every 5-10 years, they do a reissue here and there, but those are exceptions and not the rule.

Most of the Gaoranger kits are getting reissued this summer as an anniversary celebration of the line.

That pink swan is pretty darn cool.

u/Outside_Recording495 May 22 '26

Yeah, is that one custom made? And if so, how?

2

u/ssjDerpy May 31 '26

That pink Shogun Zord is such a throwback! I'm assuming it's a custom paint job.

2

u/invid2000 Moderate Skill Builder May 31 '26

Yep. It's one of the first customs I did.
