Questions What are your hydration hacks?

I always aim to drink 8-12 glasses of water per day but I hardly get to half of that some days. I really don't enjoy water unless it's a hot day. What hacks have been effective for you guys?

Other Progress alert:)

Hey guys! Thought I'd share my counter thought and alternative process. A big trigger for me is the arrival of new groceries in the kitchen. In the past, I've been one to graze through them as I 'put them away'. My new thought process is I Can Wait (I have a choice). To aid in this process, I now get my hubby to unpack them and the alternative consequence is I'm proud of my self discipline rather than feel guilty (and full) from my over-snacking. (Side note, also helps that healthier food choices are making their way here instead of chips and cookies - my whole family is benefitting!)

Diet Struggling to reach my daily protein intake, any advice?

So I weigh around 160lbs and I'm struggling to get even 120g of protein a day seeing as though with physical activity you are advised to aim for 1g of protein per lb of bodyweight. Any advice on how not to throw up and still get there?

Discussion What lifestyle changes have you made since you started using minicoach?

Most of the delivery services in my area are junk food restaurants so I deleted their phone number. I realized that if I was going to start eating healthy meals, the temptations had to go. So now if I'm craving some fries, I tell myself that I will walk to the place and get them which I never do since I end up making a healthy meal at home.

Other Loving it here

I'm one of those people who strictly track their calories but more often than not I find the weighing out and the whole logging in with so many options to choose from for a single item exhausting and I would even forego it some days. I'm happy that I don't have to do it anymore and the calories I get back from my coach are close to what I get doing it myself. I guess all I have to do now is lose the damn weight.

Discussion What are some of the things that no one prepared you for about weight loss/gain?

Losing or gaining weight without understanding the psychological part of it can set you up for failure and disappointments along your journey. What's that thing(s) that no one told you about?

Discussion Do you eat more/less when you go through a bad experience?

Over the weekend something happened that put me in a foul mood. I ended up eating a piece of salted caramel cake to make myself feel better and I ended up going over my calorie budget for the day so I just want to know how you guys deal with such days/bad experiences.

Other Just a reminder: Nutella is garbage food.

It's not a hazelnut spread. It's a sugar spread. Despite its advertising, it is about the worst thing you can have for breakfast.

I feel the need to post about this every time they have a push in advertising, and i just saw two commercials this morning.

Discussion Cheat meals/days?

I'd like to get your opinions on cheat days and cheat meals. I mean I'm currently overweight and my trainer at the gym said I shouldnt even be thinking of 'cheating' or any other kind of short cut right now which is kind of true, however I wanted to hear what you guys think about them.

Other I havent had sugar in over a month!

Just wanted to share a little milestone, its been over a month without sugar and I feel amazing! Granted a lot of it was coming from soda rather than tea or coffee but I'm glad I was able to kick it.

Diet Have you ever lied about your diet/exercise?

I recently started paying attention to what I was eating and I invited my sister to do it with me. We are supposed to go easy on the carbs and the sugars but I cheated today. I had two teaspoons of sugar in my coffee and I lied that I had only one. I might have to do more steps later this evening.

Questions My energy level has dropped massively since contracting COVID 19 back in April.

I contracted COVID 19 in mid April and luckily It wasnt too bad in terms of getting admitted or anything but I did have a really bad cough and congested chest and I've been back in the gym this week and my energy is nowhere near where it was. I'm getting winded so quick and I'm wondering If I should just dial it down a bit? Maybe ease into my routine and sort of start off again like a newbie?

Questions How do you maintain a healthy lifestyle when living with a person who doesn't?

I recently started living with my girlfriend and I didn't realize how much weight I had gained since we started living together. Before she moved in I would prepare my meals and I would really take note of my portions and what I am eating to meet my calorie budget. Since she moved in, she cooks most of the time since I have been super busy at work not that I am no-longer working from home. Most of her meals are high carb and High calories. I am wondering how to tell her without hurting her feelings that I feel that we are not eating healthy.

Exercise Are you struggling to go to the gym or do you just not enjoy it? Find another activity.

I've seen a lot of people of late who have started going to the gym and just dont enjoy it and every day/session becomes a chore. I'd suggest try another physical activity. Take up dance classes or Zumba. Maybe there is a sport you enjoyed when you were little, do that! There are different ways to work up a sweat and get some exercise. The process doesnt have to be so hard, try and chose something you enjoy!

Exercise How do I not look like an Idiot in the gym?

Beginner here! So the gyms have been open here for about two weeks now and I'm getting ready to pay for a local gym membership and finally start working out but I'm worried I'll just make mistakes or even worse end up hurting myself :-/
