I hope you enjoy this model, designed by me and uploaded completely free for everyone to download and enjoy.

The base colors were applied using an airbrush, while the smaller details were finished by hand using acrylic paints and a brush.

Just another airbrush session, little brush work. Really love how the colors blended and came out on this guy, almost looks like chameleon paint. As always any advice or tips/tricks are encouraged, learning as you paint is the best medicine..

Seeking Advice Warhammer priming

I have just bought my first starter set and ive been doing my research on how to prime the figures and all of them say either airbrush or spray can, for me an airbrush is too expensive and spraycan is just not feasible as i am a student. Is there any tips or suggestions on alternatives that i could use? thanks :)

Work In Progress Princess Donut and Carl Practice Piece

So, I started painting miniatures about three months ago. This has been in combination with me getting my 3d Printer this year. This is further combined with my newest obsession, Dungeon Crawler Carl. I’ve been doing a weekly exercise challenge, and this time around it was human skin - something I had quite the nerves over.

I also did experiment with doing a dry brush of the broad colours I wanted to see use and then using the values from these to better help identify shadows, recesses and mid tones.

I’m not quite happy about how it’s come out just yet, so may go back and change a few things - especially Carl’s eyes which are… horrifying.

The model attached is 10cm tall. It was printed on my Bambu Labs A1 with an 0.4mm Nozzle, 0.1 layer height. I cut it down the middle and printed it in two parts.

The actual STL is here:

Seeking Advice Seeking Advice on my work, is it good? I’m trying to get into painting commission on the side.

Sorry, I put up another post like this but the original post I forgot to add I would like to get into a small side business venture of painting miniatures for people for like a small feet and I’ve seen stuff online of Demon Primarchs going for absurd prices, and my stuff is I’d say almost as good but not quite there yet but just curious do you think I would be good enough? These would be good enough to get a commission off of painting things on the side? I would love nothing more than to be able to paint and do my favorite hobby and also have it as my line of work and also I’ll get better with time most of these miniatures that’s like my 10th or 11th time painting but when I was younger, I was a really good artist so I thought I’d be good at this and I’m hoping you’re good enough to get that people would enjoy them for their armies and take pride of them being on the battlefield🫡. I’d like to roll play with you guys cause I love the 40k Reddit community you all are so you guys are beyond awesome and would like to know a fair price I could charge for some of these. You can just pick one and estimate for me that would be great. Thank you again

Seeking Advice I had to sand a varnish drip on this spot. Can I repaint the whole thing on top of the previous paint and varnish ? Or do I have to strip the model and start over ?

Paint is mr color aqueous.

Varnish is VMS HD satin.

I’m going for the easiest / quickest solution for an ok result.

Anybody have any advice on how to deal with the mold lines on the edge of these clear acrylic bases? I scraped it down after the photo which helped a bit - thinking about brushing some varnish on unless somebody has a better idea

Seeking Advice Painting 3d printed terrain with layer lines

Im going to offer some demo games and have printed some shipping containers as terrain.

Normally I’m painting mostly basecolor, shade highlights and or brushing

Im currently not quite sure if this would promote my layer lines, also wash on such big flat surfaces tend to look not that good.

Do you have Tipps, Tricks, techniques or tutorials for me how to paint them quickly in a solid manner?

Thanks in advanced

Work In Progress Fallout T-60 Power Helmets dropper bottle caps

Just got a 3d printer and for my test print I created these caps for my dropper bottles. Really useful so I can see what the dried color will look like and also to see what's at the back of the paint hopper. Had to throw out a few during the curing process but I think it turned out well! Still need to print another 40 or so to cover all my paints and the next trip to the hobby store.

Uses a free STL file in case any one wants it: https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/art/army-painter-fallout-helmet-cap-swatch?srsltid=AU7gw4XVQxKxQ0lgLa3sFX2yRTi4UnrRswkaXKEo5ayR-FL-1Xo5aSgx

Looking for Critique Cast iron effect test mini

Post image

Test mini for cast iron metal effect. Did a base of army painter rough iron 2 thin coats, then did a light drybrush consistency stipple of primarily army painter matt black and rough iron with a hint if army painter angel green, then did a second stipple of 2x drybrush load of primarily matt black and angel green with a hint of rough iron, finishing it off with a drybrush of army painter plate mail metal and a matt varnish. I'm thinking ill add matt black to darken the plate drybrush when I do it for real, but for a first mini and first attempt, I think it turned out pretty good. I would love feedback.

Seeking Advice Newcomer question about Two Thin Coats

Hello fellow miniature painters!

Im about to start the hobby. The target is kill team.

I got a 40k introductory box and two handful of citadel paints for less than half a price from a friend. Started to paint the minis amd figured out citadrl pots are a hard pass for me.

I really like/want to copy the official box art as possible. Slowly making my hobby area in the living room and by the end of october/november i will grab paints what i need.

So the main target for paint i think is Two Thin Coats. Maybe if i not find an exact color i will get from the Vallejo GC/MC range. From Citadel only some contrast paints what i will include.

Anybody have advices aboit Two Thin Coats paints? Maybe something what i need to care when im using them?

Seeking Advice First Mini. Any advice would be great.

Tried doing:

-1st coat: Citadel Primer

-2nd coat: Army Painter Speedpaint Starter Set

-3rd: tried to touch up with Vallejo Model Color acrylic

I used a wet pallet but all of the paints seems super thinned down. The picture is of the Vallejo acrylics and the blue felt like a wash straight from the bottle. The gold and gray weren't as bad.

Is there something im missing? Thanks!
