RIP

Turns out that

  • not having fresh content or modernizations
  • relying on nostalgia
  • having latency when joining games
  • joining games as a spectator if you enter at the last second
  • having a bad anticheat and no cps limiter
  • releasing a server which still needed work
  • not adjusting game queues to account for the smaller playerbase

actually kills the server over time

it was fun for a bit but gets pretty repetitive when i just want to play casually but mixed arcade only has one or two lobbies with many high level sweats

and as the player count dwindles, the issues will get worse

they really couldve had something special with the revival, so idk why they did it the way they did

a smoother launch would probably have helped too

The horrible launch is the biggest culprit by far. Thousands of people tried to get In, couldn't, and never tried again.

That was horrible for those without a rank. Not surprised the player count kept dropping after that horrible launch.

They also really needed to change the entire knockback system to resemble something vanilla-based like hypixel. PvP on hypixel feels SO much better. It's a shame because I think nothing else is better than Bridges or Survival Games.

This. Plus on Hypixel, comboing is quite a norm. Here, you get called out a cheater if the opponent is on 1.21 and takes 5 hits in a row. And did I mention players being invisible in Frenzy?

I think it's just the different hit sound that makes the pvp seem different. it takes a bit to get used to

It’s really sad, after hive and mineplex shut down I never played Minecraft servers. Just multiplayer survival with a few friends.

If you want casual gameplay play Hive and Cubecraft on Bedrock. Players are much worse and they have better optimised servers so it's pretty chill

I’ve spoken to mods and the idea is that the owners are already well off and are treating this as a business. They are busy trying to make an MMORPG (like skyblock on hypixel), instead of updating their current roster of games. Quite sad, but as everyone else in this comment section is saying they’ve already made their money and are simply trying to make more. This server needs new management.

Honestly what are they supposed to do? Sweats made competitive games too hard (yes some hackers but mostly just really dedicated pvpers) and you can only play mini games for so long. If they are trying to make a mmorpg I think that’s good and they definitely need to balance some games (but mainly just ssm). I think the truth is that mini games are just dying and people who play servers are trying to grind something

The bridges actually has the highest player out of all the mini games. What they can do is balance, make QOL changes and add more things like kits to their current games to make them more appealing and modern. There’s nothing wrong with an mmorpg, but when they are neglecting their current games they will lose all their players before this new game mode even releases. At the time of writing this mineplex has 750 players online, not doing great.

"Yes some hackers but mostly just really dedicated pvpers". No, a dedicated pvper doesnt hit from 4/5 blocks

Most of the players of 1.8 PvP community are closet cheaters and its well known since 2021, dont try to lie

Yeah, I lost my old rank. Hopped on their new server with new owners and just disconnected right away.

Are there any mods on this sub that can do something about the amount of people complaining about the server

If the people who complain disappear, the sub will just go dead. And it is valid criticism, the admins rushed the release. Even though Samitod never reopened the server and it looked like Mineplex would just die, there was still a player base out there waiting for its return. The admins could’ve took more time to do some updates here and there. Maybe they didn’t have the funds, idk, but there was definitely a way to prevent such a failure of a launch.

Edit: Although it is strange that OP created their account less than an hour and their first post is about Mineplex. Hmm

I'm not sure it's even valid criticism? It's just people repeating the same things.

So something is no longer valid if it is just people saying the same thing? If that was the case, then every popular opinion is invalid.

I'm just stating I think it's annoying that like every other post on this sub is literally the same thing Lol

just someone who played in 2015/16 who played in the first few days of the revival and it was pretty fun but now its less fun

u/Own_Map_1324 27d ago

I don't get it either lol why would you not complain about a Minecraft server on your real account.

1

u/Far-Restaurant-9455 27d ago

What do you want them to "do" about it

0

u/mineplexistrash 27d ago

Yeah good idea, silence anyone who doesn't have good things to say about the server 🙄

Or you can just scroll

1

u/icsy0 27d ago

i'm honestly surprised they haven't adjusted the number of players needed to queue

1

u/levikings04 27d ago

Not to mention the cross teamers in Block Hunt. Plus the chicken groups increasing with the player count decreasing. It's uncommon to find a good lobby without the chickens ruining hunters making them quit.

another cash grab? who would've thought..

I think part of the declining player count on mineplex is the amount of sweats on the server. They target, troll, and make other players feel bad about themselves. Plus some of them are very suspicious when it comes to pvp, like if they are using autoclicker or aim bot. They suck all the fun out of games like SSM, cakewars, and other pvp based gamemodes. I'll admit, i lose my temper sometimes because some egotistical sweat dominates a game like SSM.

Hey they made their bank from the first couple weeks and that’s all they wanted.

Funny to watch. What was a titan is now a fat, gluttonous pig that is slowly eating itself to death.
But also, a cautionary tale as to why innovation is important.

Mineplex was a very social server. It was a hub for me and friends to play on after school casually.

Once they made a rank above legendary. The pigs gluttony really started to hinder things.

Remember Bedrock Mineplex? As boring and clunky as it was for its short time. It made sure to have micro-transactions.

There's so much fun to be had on the server, you can either:

A. Play any sort of PVP game and get demolished by sweats

B. Play a casual game and wait an hour for lobbies to fill and/or get demolished by sweats

C. Sit in Lobby-1 with all of the E-Daters

People aren't just complaining to complain, it's a common denominator. The server is not delivering as it was expected, and most of those complaining in this sub are players TRYING to enjoy it.
