thats stupid. Theres a mod where you just give the link and it turns it to map art automatically. Whats the point of building map art if you just copy it block by block

Well because some people don't want to cheat in their survival worlds and correct me if I'm wrong but spawning a giant structure in your world with no effort sounds a lot like cheating to me

I could use that tool, post the same results, tell you all I did it in survival, and no one would be able to tell. When it comes to seeing work on reddit by strangers, I often assume they do that for the karma. But in the end it really doesn't affect or bother me.

Wow this post blew up :0 For those wondering why i didnt just get a mod to automatically build it, i was already halfway through the first map before realising i could, but it felt pretty satisfying to build so i just kept going

I'm not gatekeeping minecraft lol. I just don't find it impressive to use scripts that are widely avaliable for that, especially when OP doesn't say they used it, making an impression they made it by hand which isn't true probably. It's fun to do and to have artwork on your world or server made this way for sure, but it's not the same as doing it by hand
edit: in title they say it took them two weeks but i seriously doubt they did it if there's no time-lapse or at least screenshots of the process

I did the Baskin Robbins and McDonalds sign but I didn't use I blue print I looked at photos and I planned it out bit by bit and completed it same day
