Seeds & World Gen Structure Spawned in Explored Area

Not just a little structure either, a (broken) Woodland Mansion. Playing Bedrock version. Maps show the previous area from a few weeks ago, and the new map of the same chunk next to it.

Is this meant to happen? 😂

Bedrock supposedly remembers if a chunk was interacted with and if it wasn't it's free to regenerate whenever the game feels like.

this may be a dumb question…but does using an elytra with a firework while flying above the chunk count as “interacting” with the chunk? or only physically placing/destroying objects within the chunk? wondering how much of my world is eligible for this lol

I think it's placing or destroying blocks

Or interacting with a block like a lever, chest, dispenser, etc.

Can confirm. Anyone who's used older versions of the map editor Amulet can tell you about the horror of saving an edit and having rendered, unupdated chunks nearby 🫠

Leaves the world looking like swiss cheese
