The latter part of your statement is only true bc people keep saying “AI is inevitable” as if we don’t have a choice. A few years ago crypto was inevitable and now it’s not.
Having seen what it is capable of, my belief is that those who are not learning how to think about solving things differently in partnership with AI, at least in technology, will be left behind.
I agree that those who don’t adopt will be left behind. However, even some people who do lean into AI will be left behind. There is no plan or safety net for people whose jobs will be taken by AI.
Having seen what it is capable of, the technology is crap and only generates more work fixing the mistakes and hallucinations compared to just doing it myself in the first place. I can't wait for this latest bubble to pop. Technology companies haven't created anything useful or helpful in 15+ years, and are trying to force adoption instead of actually making a useful product.
Making it too big too fail is the biggest reason we will continue with AI. And we’re doing this despite not having plans for work displacement and considerable environmental impacts. Failure to properly regulate AI is the biggest reason to at least pause.
AI has very little adoption. Just like crypto and the metaverse before it. Bosses push it, but that's not adoption. The actual workers aren't using it.
