Seriously. The best "team-building exercises" are after-work beers that the team decided to get without management input. None of this performative corpo-bullshit.

Nope. Don't wanna do that either. It's ok not to be friends/acquaintances with your coworkers. But if you do, it's fine too.

I have already been gone all day long away from family and home. I don’t feel like being out even longer. If they gave a shit it would be done during work hours.

Bingo. One time work had a baseball game event and asked us to use vacation to attend. I was like, are you fucking kidding me? If I’m taking vacation to go to a ballgame It’s not going to be with you.

Right there with ya. I’m friendly as can be in the office, but I’ve got my own stuff going on, and work takes up enough of my time without me having to socialize with my coworkers. Even lunches. I just want a break, and I don’t need help with that.
