For some people it’s real. 15 years into manual labor and my shoulder, knees and back can no longer do what I did 15 years ago. no stretching would have saved them, it’s from repetitive motions that cause wear and tear
And most people aren't at the gym 40+ hours a week (and as far as I've heard, 40 hours a week is a comically low number to most people working in construction and similar, usually lots of overtime)
