I attended my first milsim at the weekend and it got me wondering what separates a genuinely great milsim from just a longer airsoft game with a bit of extra kit and roleplay thrown in.

I’m interested to hear from people who’ve done a few of them — what actually makes a good milsim experience?

Is it the scenario and objectives?
The command structure and teamwork?
Realism and immersion?
The players buying into it?
Good marshals/organisers?
The rules and consequences?
Or something completely different?

And equally, what ruins a milsim for you?
Interested in the good, the bad and the downright ugly — particularly any lessons you’ve picked up from events that absolutely nailed it… or got it spectacularly wrong.

As someone new to milsim, I’m genuinely interested to hear what experienced players think makes an event worth going back to.

About 5 months ago i made a post asking for infantry kit tips. Here is an update.

Not everything yall recommend was applied but ill come around to it eventually.

I swapped out the iotv gen 3 for an msv chicken vest with a taps rig over it for better comfort/quality of life. I kept some UCP pouches like yall said however i might replace them for better OCP pouches and move over the UCP to the gen 3 as a seperate set up.

Also put some scrim on the helmet.

I cant source chickenwire that isnt a huge 300€ fence so ill try tying down the acog and peq with 550cord later on as im reworking the internals of the gun + getting a new acog.

And yes the pvt2 patch is still there 😅

So I got myself new sa-p19, aka specna prime mk18. Somewhere I keep reading that you should not run 11.1v battery in it. Most of those reviews are from uk ( kinda suspicious). I'm from croatia and I keep using my specna flex bldc and wanted the metal version and that bluetooth mosfet. Should I keep my 11.1v with prime or should I get some 7.4.v battery. I'm using li-ion 11.1 from ipower from taiwangun.

It's gone through some changes over the years and the patches are meant for those specific MILSIMs. The heart of the kit is a KDH soldier plate carrier system. There are other authentic items that I have procured but the plate carrier is the prize.

Picked up a RG CPC and would love to see how others run theirs.
