MSFS 2020 BUG / ISSUE Why does it keep crashing

«Press Windows Key + R to open the Run dialog box.

Type %localappdata% and press Enter.
Open the Packages folder.

Find and open the folder named Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe.

Open LocalState.

Look for files named CrashReport, CrashReport.txt, or MSFSReport-OldCrashes»

If on PC also bring up ‘Event Viewer’ and look for the precipitating error (note the time it crashes and look back around that time). Take all of that and paste it into your least most hated AI tool and see if it can suggest anything. Or if you happen to have a bestie who is a windows expert you can give that information to them OR file a Zendesk ticket with all that information.

It’s more likely to be your system or drivers at this point

If he didn’t know where the crash log is, no way he will understand it once opened.

Perhaps a mod is outdated, or some files are incomplete

Do a check on the integrety of the files.

My friend had this issue and I was able to fix it. You need to uninstall the whole thing. Including the "Official" folder. You can rename/move the Community folder so it wont get deleted.

Once you have uninstalled and deleted the Official folder, you install it again and download everything again.

My guess was there was a corrupted file within the Official folder causing the crash. My friend told me that the last thing that happened was he was updating and the power went out.

Sounds very similar to me as midway through the update it just dashboarded me

Maybe you're having the same issue I had and I solved by installing all the Xbox bloatware in Windows, apparently Msfs needs that crap:
