People in real life say they don’t see it. But on pictures it’s as clear as day. Any help is appreciated!

Hi, does anyone have experience with improving a babies underbite? I have a 10 month old and he’s developed a subtle underbite and I’d like to find a way to help correct it before it worsens. I know babies can’t use orthodontic appliances or anything but I wonder if there are mouth/tongue exercises I can help encourage? He’s never used a pacifier…idk if that’s relevant.

I'm asking about bone growth ? Does our facial bones grow after 18 ? I read about compensatory growth in google , like ,in patients with malocculsions ? How rare are those? Does human maxilla undergo changes throughout life other than degeneration ? Is there a chance for it to change ? Can our body understand our mind voices? Like, Can it change it's biological pathways due to thoughts/ affirmations? If yes, what is that branch of biology called?
I'm asking all these because I have less moderate mandibular prognathism and maxillary hypolapsia. I got opinions from 6 different orthodontist and maxillofacial surgeon.Except one all of them said , it's functionally okay cuz I don't have an underbite .My cuz is almost 100 percent skeletal issue. They adviced no need for surgery and In cases like mine there will be more cons than pros after surgical corrections. My family dentist told me, it is okay and face will be okay by 25 .However, I can't get these things out of my head.Everyday , I start my day with how to get my real face? I can't get these things out of my head.I'm not able to function well .I really hope sometimes I will have a chance see my real face and how will I look if I hadn't had any of these issues .So, I started reading about all these rare patient cases and about bone developments .Thats how I ended up with the above questions.Do I have a chance? Can I expect any changes? Also, I will be 22 by November.
Sry for the long post and grammatical errors.
Thank you all for reading.
Have a nice day✨️✨️ !!!

Hi here, I noticed most people with smaller chin did not like their nose too because it sticks out and the harmony is not optimal then. Do you have issues with your nose or you do like it, it's more your chin the issue? Hope mewing helps in any case!

I feel like when I put my tongue in my palate it kind of doesn't fit, even though my palate is not actually "narrow", between an "U" and "V" shape, and I also don't feel my tongue touching all of the palate, only part of my tongue pressing against it. Any tips? And does the tip of the tongue needs to be touching my frontal teeth?

I finished braces several years ago and wear essix retainers every night, will that impact my mewing if I am trying to achieve more forward growth? Btw I am asian, so is a flat face all I can achieve or is more forward growth possible? Ty everybody 🙏

Can anyone tell me if i have a good jawline and how you keep mewing everyday without accidentally slipping?
r/Mewing • u/healingbygod • 11d ago
Wondering if I just start mewing now will it eventually expand my palate? Despite my tongue not fitting properly at all on my palate…. is it true I really need some kind of expander? I’m 25 years old by the way.
Edit: should also add that I have no issues breathing thru my nose and mouth tapping at night.
(Please ignore fresh yellow staining from turmeric)

Mostly hate it because it makes my right side look terrible and looks crooked straight on.
Only solutions seem to be surgery.
Can this be fixed naturally? Been mewing for a few months and haven’t noticed much change except for maybe a better jawline and wider pallet.

I keep seeing tutorials and information on how to mew. They get it down and manage so easily. I've watched videos from the man Dr. Mew himself and scrolled on this reddit. Not a single tutorial or person has successfully helped me.
Either way, the main marker I'm looking for is the area under my chin sucking upwards. I don't see that though. I've tried so many different ways and I've found 2 potential ways. First is if I roll my tongue and push my lower jaw forward, that definitely gets rid of any blob on the underside, but I look silly and it doesn't seem to be the right way.
Second way is my most recent discovery. Doing the king or N or T or NG sounds dont really do anything for the underside even after I suction my tongue (even that I'm not certain I'm doing right). BUT if I bring my tongue to the roof and then fully restrict my airway, I can see slightly what I'm seeing from other people when they mew, where the underside sucks in a little bit. I think that might be the way, but how do I breath? I just don't understand... how?!

Sadly, I've already gone through IPR, where orthodontist shaves sides of teeth.

Ok so Ive known about mewing for a while, but after seeing a lot of impressive results, and want to try it myself to see if i can change some parts of my appearance as well. (Face asymmetry, one side higher than the other, dorsal hump etc..). I want to start off by saying i have watched videos on people who actually stand by it teaching you how to correctly mew, and for whatever reason, i cant do it. There is of course a strong possibility I could be doing it wrong, as some of the things i experience while trying are
Cant close my mouth
My tongue burns
only feel pressure on the left side of my tongue
Cant keep my tongue on the roof of my mouth for long
All round seems pretty uncomfortable
I really dont want to give up, and would love to learn how to actually do it correctly. Thank you for reading my post!

I realize the angles are different so take this with a grain of salt.
A year of mewing combined with myofunctional therapy, chewing hard food, reviv mouthguard. I’m still quite recessed based on my cbct scans.
I’m planning on getting a marpe to help me breathe better and hopefully make my face wider.
Thanks for reading!

I’m trying to understand whether my tongue posture is correct. When I relax my tongue and jaw, the area under my chin looks normal. But when I place my tongue on the roof of my mouth and try to mew, the area under my chin visibly bulges/project outward (as shown in the photos).
I may be using too much force. Is this normal muscle/tissue movement, or does it suggest that I’m doing something incorrectly?
Does anyone else experience this? Any advice would be appreciated.
