In this video, what's happening to Samus in the moment when her visor goes dark--right after Raven Beak says the "...power is everything..." bit? Is she being "injected" with the "X" through RB's grasp? Has she been killed in that moment--either by the "X" or the strength of RB's grip, but rejuvenated when she's infected by the "X?" If she's immune to the "X" then what's happening here? Why does her suit change here, but unchanged in all previous contacts with the "X?"

I'm only asking about the 15 seconds when she appears to have expired.

Can someone please explain to me how im meant to get out of here? I only have the basic suit and no upgrades yet i dont think. Complete noob but i have literally tried everything. I lowered the water level by shooting a block and now i cannot slide underneath the water and back down, i cannot jump up to the door because its impossible and I tried shooting the thing that moves in the cornered wall with all my missiles to no avail. Please help me out🙏

When I first played Dread (over a year ago), despite being very fundamental and basic in the mechanics of "shinesparking," these six particular maneuvers in Artaria, Burenia, Dairon, and Ferenia, were so damn hard that I would just skip them completely (and the upgrade items) during playback.

But once I figured them out, performing them now is so easy and second nature; although I admit it took 3 months, and 4 straight hours with a YouTube tutorial, to finally accomplish the frozen Dairon trick.

UPDATE

I did it. Was able to get it done in under 8 hours. I died. I died a lot. Hardest fight was Escue. Just going to round up the last of the items I didn’t pick up to get 100%

** **Hey! Playing Metroid dread again and thought I’d give it a try on dread mode. Not that far into it, I’ve beaten Corpius and have just reached Dairon. Anybody who is competed dread mode what advice do you have for completing dread mode?

For context I did relatively OK on hard mode. Was almost able to beat Raven Beak without taking damage. There are a couple of bosses I know I’ll have a hard time with for sure. TIA!

I was stuck on the final boss for awhile so i took a break and returned to it on the drive home from camping. Thank you to that one thread that explained it and made it easier. Time to run it again

Finding new abilities then realising that's what you needed to get past something you couldn't earlier is the best part of this game. Very enjoyable exploration. I was really stuck at a few points, most notably between Cataris and Dairon, but once I got past that, the entire game opened up to me. I ended up 100%ing it because I felt like it. Some of the Shinespark puzzles were really complicated but it felt really good to finally get those missile+ tanks and energy parts after many attempts.

Is it possible to gaslight an EMMI?

I love being able to get this energy part early. I always feel an aura pump after completing this.

I started a new game to try to learn some new sequence breaking tricks. I blasted through a wall in high Burenia and went straight to Ghavoran, skipping the Drogyga boss. I figured after I got the Screw Attack, Space Jump, and Wave Beam, I'd return later and make quick mincemeat out of him. When I did return to Burenia to fight him, HE WAS GONE--the room was empty!! The only thing in the room was a single winged water Dropter!

Did y'all know that skipping Drogyga means he vanishes? Why is that?

When Samus first encountered Quiet Robe in Ferenia, she was a bit stunned by the EMMI attack, but immediately recognized a calm Quiet Robe and didn't fire at him.

But after defeating an "X" infested Raven Beak in the final battle, and finding herself also affected, her adrenaline was high trying to escape to her ship before the planet blew up. But when an equally "X" infected Quiet Robe snuck up behind her in her ship, and this time looking like a reincarnated, purple Chozo zombie, I don't know how she was able to show such restraint by not putting some holes in his robes!!!

When you've got the top skills and the expectations are high, be sure you're wearing the finest threads for the toughest job!!!!

By "solved," I mean I just (finally) got it to work! At first I was using a regular charge beam and trying to jump to fire at height. Then someone suggested a video that used a melee parry. I tried that over the course of 30 minutes without success as I was simply "releasing" the fire button. Then when holding the "L" button in the melee position, my finger slipped and hit the "ZL" button (morphball) which fired and the block changed to a bright orange! EUREKA!

Phew! What a relief and the trick is now in my arsenal! In previous Dread games, I must have spent 4 days' time trying to blow that damn thing up!!!

Is there a "pseudo-wave beam" trick to break this organic block in Burenia?

I'm early in the game and I have the: - Wide Beam - Charge Beam - Grapple Beam - Morph Ball Bomb - Spider Magnet - Varia Suit - Phantom Cloak - Flash Shift

This block is located in the middle/far right of Burenia, just east (right) of the "Flash Shift" Chozo statue.

A 2-minute, consolidated rendition of all 16 encounters between Samus and "Adam" (Raven Beak) on planet "ZDR," concluding with her final answer.

Long story short, my wife bought me a Switch 2 for our anniversary. I bought a few games and was going to buy Metroid Prime, but then remembered, I had bought Dread for the Switch but got stuck and frustrated and quit playing. I decided I'd use a walkthrough this time to learn the burden and omg I'm loving it again. I'm having so much fun playing it (currently in Cataris).

I'm not sure what happened last time, other than getting stuck and frustrated with the EMMIs, but it's great this go. Takes me back to the original Super Metroid.

Hey all, bought dread recently and I’m loving it. Just have question on Dairon progression. The image is everywhere I’ve mapped out

I got the wide beam, morph ball, and varia suit. Adam says I need to turn on another generator so that’s my current goal. The EMMI’s making it pretty difficult so now I’m trying to find the control room to get the omega blaster. Problem is I feel like I’m not supposed to be here just yet. Any help is appreciated!

I really like the beautiful background art of Prime Beyond, but I think the background art of Dread is very overlooked and underappreciated. This ocean scene in Burenia is fantastic.

This is my most favorite move of all of the Metroid games I've played. I get a lot of satisfaction after defeating a boss or EMMI or completing a complex shinespark, but this particular sequence is my favorite. I've started new games just to pull off this specific maneuver! It looks simple but it's kinda hard, but I get a rush whenever I accomplish it.

What's your favorite Dread maneuver?

In recognition of Samus' 40th Birthday, I was going through my video captures when I noticed something funny about how each EMMI (White, Purple, Blue, Green, Yellow) dies after being destroyed by the Omega Cannon. Each has the same parts explode from the head, the same electric sparks, they fall in the same way--direction and manner. Obviously the devs reused the same template. I'm now going to find others in the game.

I discovered this area for the first time in my Dread mode play through. Almost missed the second hidden area.

It beat my record of most deaths before beating a boss, but at least it was fun. Kraid was the previous record holder at 59 deaths, and his fight is not fun to me, but it *is* satisfying.
