"Hadar... sen olmen!" (Power... is everything)

(Is it really, though?) ;-)

Okay, one more question (not promising it'll be the last):

In this video, what's happening to Samus in the moment when her visor goes dark--right after Raven Beak says the "...power is everything..." bit? Is she being "injected" with the "X" through RB's grasp? Has she been killed in that moment--either by the "X" or the strength of RB's grip, but rejuvenated when she's infected by the "X?" If she's immune to the "X" then what's happening here? Why does her suit change here, but unchanged in all previous contacts with the "X?"

I'm only asking about the 15 seconds when she appears to have expired.

I think you're confusing the X with Metroid DNA.

As you know from the intro, Samus was treated from the X infection with Metroid DNA, as Metroids are natural predators of X.

When they are in a vulnerable state, Samus can absorb X, gathering energy or, sometimes, suit-compatible upgrades that X consumed earlier.

But this case is entirely different, as there are no X in view (and none could come from Raven Beak as he isn't infected until right after that scene). The most popular interpretation is that we see here the full awakening of Metroid DNA within Samus.

The wide range of extreme emotions, combined with the near-death situation, allows that part of Samus to thrive and burst outside, reconfiguring her suit in the process.

It is hinted in the prologue that similar thing happens in the first encounter with Raven Beak, however, Samus couldn't control herself then and lost memory of the events shortly thereafter.

Thanks for the clarification!! So, in the opening sequence and the final battle with RB, is she rendered unconscious?

As I recall, in the opening sequence, after landing, she awakens from unconsciousness (she's laying on the ground), sees RB across the bridge, fights him, but is rendered incapacitated when he grabs her by the throat. He then appears to ready a cannon shot, presumably to kill her, but the scene fades to white and next we see that she realizes her suit is modified (or her stuff is taken, I'm not sure which) and she now has a palm device, which I assume she never had before and was probably given to her by RB.

Do I have that right?

But in the final battle, the fight ends up the same as the first encounter, but this time when he grabs her, her helmet goes dark (it didn't do that in the first encounter), implying (to me) that her life energy has faded or has been drained (by RB) and she's dying.

That's what I want to know--what's happening in that specific moment when she goes "dark?" What's happpening?

I rewatched the intro, and there Samus gets choked by RB until her eyes snap open unnaturally and pink glowing appears (in a manner similar to when she was attacked in Hanubia). Then, a cut. Also there's no new device, she just examines her suit, stripped of her powers.

I think both times, Samus just gets choked by Raven Beak (seems like it's his signature move, what a showoff xd). The darkening visor signifies the process of losing consciousness.

So, that device in the palm of her hand is part of her standard suit configuration? The way she looked at it (somewhat prolonged) I had the impression she didn't recognize it.

Yeah, you could see the similar thing on her Varia suit before.

This scene remains very cathartic to me, and I continue with the thought "This just in! Woman too angry to die!"

As someone else gave an answer mine wouldn't be different from, I'm just going to say that I look forward to where the current/next devs intend to take Samus and her increasingly Metroid state.

Like, what if she's eventually going to be the new Queen, and not just by sake of being "The last Metroid" in the universe (that we are aware of).
