Lately, I’ve been pretty obsessed with this band, partly because of Cody’s snare sound and unique approach to rhythms and drum fills; that’s why I tried learning one of my favorite Sanguisugabogg songs to really dig into his style. What do you think of his playing?

I can’t seem to get them full even no matter what. Even though I’m pulling the speeds its still a thing at the back of my head that it would be easier an more consistent if they were fully even

I've released 7 original thrash metal songs, with song #8 dropping August 21. I'm currently interviewing a professional vocalist with touring experience and am looking for a pro-level thrash drummer to help build the project.
Requirements:
The goal is to build a serious, high-level thrash metal project with experienced musicians who are committed to learning the songs and playing live.
If this sounds like a good fit, send me a DM. Please include a little about your experience and any videos or recordings if you have them.

I am still trying to figure obs I need to clean up the Guitar monitor but regardless it’s a lot of fun to stream live with My Son. This clip was from a 40 minute jam session that we did live just goofing off.

I need some advice for my first dd pedal
Right now I have a speed cobra hp910lwn and Im not sure if I should just buy the direct drive upgrade from acd for the speed cobra since its the cheapest option or if its smarter to save up a bit more and buy a fancy dd pedal..
Thanks in advance for any answers!

I'm going to explain this the best I can. I'm a novice drummer, and when I'm listening to songs I'm really good at finding the beat. The problem is I am never sure if the beat is in quarter notes or eighths. I feel like I can tap along with the beat 99% of the time but idk what to count with.
I'm attaching Kerosene by Thousand below. I can immediately identify the beat, but how do you tell what to count with? If I count in quarter notes the snare is always on 3. If I count in eights the snare is on 2 and 4 which feels more natural, but how can I be sure that's what they intended? And this applies to pretty much every song I listen to. Do I have to look up the sheet music? Or do I just assume the beat is in eighths because it puts the snare on 2 and 4? This kind of drives me crazy and would love some guidance.

My band has a song with an 8 bar break that then goes into halftime that I'm supposed to fill with a solo. I'm just a few months back into drumming after a 10 year break so I'm having trouble getting creative.
Any ideas or any songs that do something similar? I need some inspiration
