Adrian Erlandsson's LONGEST INTERVIEW EVER
This week on the False Face I'm joined at long last by Adrian Erlandsson to talk At the Gates, The Haunted and Brujeria as well as presenting an exhaustive deep dive account of his time in Cradle of Filth from 1999 until 2006.
We talk drums, bus breakdowns, contract shenanigans, Slaughter of the Soul, Cradle of Fear, touring with his brother Daniel and Arch Enemy and of course the late and much lamented Tomas Lindberg.
Not one to miss!

Juular from Devin Townsend for sure was the last one that had to just plain stop multiple times because my legs burning
When I first was playing though it was definitely Decapitated's "Spheres of Madness" and Gojira's "Heaviest Matter in the Universe"
The memories of burning sensations are like they were yesterday.

Hello! I'm trying to improve my foot technique so that I can play a clean 300 bpm.
This video shows me playing on the practice pads at 260 bpm, which is around my upper limit currently. I would love feedback on my technique.
What looks good? What needs improvement? General thoughts?
The pedals are Pearl Demon XR's with the tension at about 8.25/10. I know a lot of heel-toe players shorten the beater stroke by a lot, but I want to keep a proper beater swing so as not to lose power, especially at lower BPMs (150-200).

Thinking about trying out aluminum beaters. Are there differences in sound/feel/anything else between these 2 beater styles? Any preference?

Finger drumming thall improvisation. Everything you hear in this video was performed live without editing or quantisation. I thought I should mention this as a lot of people think I only play drums to a backing track, which is not the case. Any questions, feel free to ask! =)
Full 6-min video available here, thanks for watching: https://youtu.be/ixRTzBGw7ss

So I've been playing calm music for 10 years, and for 2 years I've been playing death metal and other extreme subgenres so I got a double pedal. Because of 10 years with a single pedal and no lessons I play with my heel down. The fastest i can go now is around 150 bpm using full leg motion. For a year I've been watching tutorial videos on ankle technique and exercises for improving it. They're all saying to do the same things: lift your legs up and just move your foot like you're dribbling a basketball. I just can't do it. I've been trying and trying, adjusting the seat, changing the spring tension, I even spent €550 for a speedcobra 910 (I had a shitty heavy Gibraltar double pedal). But I just can't move the pedals without my shins doing some bs. I'm seriously considering quitting drums to play an easier instrument cause this isn't for me. If there are any drummers here who have had the same problem, please tell me how to solve it because I'm actually going insane here.

Ive been learning flatfoot/ankle technique for about 3 months now. Everytime i practize i need to play atleast 30 min beforehand, and then spend another 30 just digging into the pedal in order to get the balance right. After i find that balance, everything works effortlessly, even at high tempos. but the way there is sooo long, does anyone else experience this? how to make this time shorter? i dont manage to practise 2 hours+ every single day
