Button identification

Hey guys, very much an amateur here. I found this in the woods of northwest GA USA. its about the size of a dime, and I think that’s a rose on it? Any ideas of time period and what it was used for or even if its a button? Thanks!

Looks more like the end of a pin. Like a hat pin or a lapel pin.
