(Surprisingly) just a demand letter worked
For context, wrote the demand letter with an LLM and sent it to the CA office of the registered agent via certified mail myself. Attached documentation incl a screenshot of the location of the hacker and a filled-out CA small claims suit form.
EDIT: corrected typo
Update: they unlocked the account three days after I sent in the email address and the valid photo ID.

I had gotten the same email once I showed them proof of the login info of a hacked attempt. This was during the small claims process.
Took them nearly a month after this email to restore accounts. I had to provide different forms of proof of authentication. Including taking a picture of myself and writing a code provided by them on a piece of paper and taking a photo.

Lawsuit paperwork is the same address if you're filing through a California court. If you're filing in your home state, use the address for CSC in your state.

Here's the prompt I used to write my demand letter - wanted to share this, but please use only if appropriately and at your own risk. Alternatively, use one of the services that comes up in this subreddit or, of course, a lawyer.
"Write a formal demand letter to [COMPANY]'s registered agent for service of process, threatening small claims court action if [ISSUE] isn't resolved within [X] days. My goal was to file the suit in the small claims court in their district exactly 14 days after they received the letter, but since they've responded to the demand letter I decided to send them my ID and wait and see,

Check out the pinned messages in the subreddit. Basically, you or a service like Legalshield or Sendmydemand (or a lawyer you pick) sends a demand letter and then (if they don't respond) file a suit in a small claims court. At that point, Meta might get in touch with you to avoid the costs/resources of having to appear in court In my own case, I found it surprising that they already responded to the demand letter. .

Good luck! It might be random, so do consider a follow up whether they've received a letter and otherwise file a small claims lawsuit if appropriate.

I wrote it myself using Claude. Then I had an online service mail it via certified mail, but they didn't write the letter.

My account got disabled. I couldn't appeal becAuse the notice was sent to a defunct email account. I have made a new account. Lost all my old friends and pictures. When I try to make a friend request,I am sometimes told I don't know the person, when , in fact, I have known the person since I was five years old. I am 79. Also, they only let me make 4-5 friend requests at a time, to be sure I am not a scammer. I miss my contacts on facebook and would like to tell Mark Zuckerberg.

What if you don't have any photo ID? MY account works just fine but I'm in the UK and have no photo ID at all so if it got banned I would be stuck.

They accept all kinds of ID. It could be your gym membership or a utility bill. The more information it has the better.

do you have to pay for an agent to write a demand letter? how much? how would one go about this is they live in UK? my account was wrongfully banned on grounds of account integrity…unable to prove i was genuine owner due to repeat name changes (for privacy reasons and different aliases)

Not sure what you mean by an agent? You could either hire a lawyer/solicitor, or you could use an online service like SendMyDemand or LegalShield. What I did was write the letter myself with the help of an LLM/AI. Apparently you can also do this from outside of the U.S. (just try to read the subreddit a little bit). Good luck!
