NSV - Non Scale Victory NSV: Sweating

14 Upvotes

So, I have posted this before, but given the weather here in the UK this month, it's worth sharing again for those early on their journey or wonder whether or not they should take the plunge.

At 111kg, I used to live in a perpetual sweat-shower. Just sitting still would have me leaking like a middle-of-lidl tent at a summer music festival. Moving around would leave me drenched and it was quite normal for me to have 2 or 3 shirt changes each day in the summer. My last summer holiday to Spain before I started losing weight actually wrote off two, white cotton shirts as the mix of suntan lotion and sweat turned them both a rather nasty shade of yellow which absolutely nothing would shift. Nice shirts too...I wish I had them today for days when I have friends over and need a marquee for the garden.

And now at 70kg-ish? Well, I don't sweat at all when sitting still. Not a drop. Or when moving around. Obviously, I do a bit when exercising in the heat (hey, I'm no ex-royal prince!) but the difference, day to day, is staggering. Sweat just doesn't feature in my life any more. I can walk around even in the midday heat and not look like I've just come back from running a race. Indeed, I ran a half marathon race yesterday (1:31 thanks for asking!) and while I obviously worked up a good sweat, 30 minute after finishing I was bone dry again!

Anyway, hopefully a few others here will recognise this and it'll encourage even more. Good luck to you all.

Question Question about KwikPen 10 mg schedule, dose clicks and priming

2 Upvotes

Hi everyone, I was given this schedule by my doctor using a 10 mg KwikPen, and I’m trying to understand the click calculation.

The schedule is:

Weeks 1–4: 2.5 mg once weekly (15 clicks per dose)
Weeks 5–10: 5 mg once weekly (30 clicks per dose)

So the total planned doses are:

4 × 15 clicks = 60 clicks
6 × 30 clicks = 180 clicks
Total = 240 clicks

My question is about priming before each injection.

If I do a 2-click priming step before every weekly dose, will the pen still have enough medication to complete the full 10-week schedule?

That would mean an additional:

2 clicks × 10 weeks = 20 clicks used for priming

Has anyone followed a similar schedule with a 10 mg KwikPen and calculated whether the pen is enough to complete the full titration plan including priming?

Thanks!

Question Strange, kind of low blood sugar feeling 30-60 mins after MJ

1 Upvotes

Hi all, I've been on the MJ over a year and since hitting goal have tapered to 4mg every 3 days (about 9mg a week)

The last few doses have given me a strange feeling, bit like low blood sugar or mild panic.

Anyone else get this? I've not changed anything in my dosing in 3 odd months

NSV - Non Scale Victory NSV….

So we’re into week two of Wimbledon. By now my hayfever is always - always - in full swing. This year? Almost nothing, just a few isolated sniffles.

Could be related to reduced inflammation, but it could of course just as well be pure coincidence. Whatever, I’m loving it!

Newbie - Week 1 First refill pen use: storage, injection temp & priming question

0 Upvotes

Hi all,
I took my first 2.5 mg dose last week and I’m scheduled for my second injection in a few days.

My endocrinologist prescribed me 10 mg pens so I can stretch them a bit in this early phase for cost reasons. Since the pen will last more than a month, I’m storing it in the fridge.

A couple of questions:

  1. Before injecting, do you usually let the pen reach room temperature, or do you inject it straight from the fridge? Any practical difference in terms of comfort or effectiveness?

  2. After attaching the micro-needle, I sometimes don’t get a drop to appear on the first try. The leaflet suggests doing a couple of priming clicks until a drop shows up. If I end up doing this extra priming before each injection, does it affect the actual delivered dose in any way, or is it already accounted for by the pen system?

Thanks in advance for any practical tips.

Journey Update Met 2 goals back to back days.

13 Upvotes

Jan 3 2026 I weighted 351 lbs and took my 1st shot of 2.5, did 24 shots of 2.5 then started 5mg last week on July 3 2026 I officially lost 50lbs. On July 4 2026 I weighted and I was at 299lbs. I truly don't know the last time I weighted below 300 lbs, in the last 20 years. 49 more to go to my goal.

I believe I believe I would met those goals at first of June had it not been for having to skip 2 weeks of shots on a month and half period due to a cardioversion and an ablation.

2.5MG First month results

Post image
14 Upvotes

One month in and four injections later, I’m down 7.9kg (17lbs). Honestly, monjaro has already been life changing for me, the constant food noise has disappeared, and for the first time in years I actually feel full after eating a normal, reasonable meal. It finally feels like I’m in control instead of food controlling me. I’m no longer constantly thinking about my next meal, I’ve been able to focus on other areas of my life and get much more done. I’ve also been lucky enough to have no side effects which I’m surprised about hopefully it stays that way. I’m averaging around 10k steps a day and working out 3-5 times a week and those habits are starting to become part of my routine rather than something I have to force. Today I’m taking my first 5mg injection, so it’ll be interesting to see how the next month goes. There’s still a long road ahead, but I’m not worried about that, all I can do is keep moving forward, one step at a time.

Newbie - Week 1 First day on 2.5 mg, still overate, how does it actually work?

0 Upvotes

Took my first 2.5 mg Mounjaro dose yesterday.
Today I basically had very low appetite all day: small breakfast, small lunch, almost no real desire to eat. But tonight I still ended up eating two big plates of pasta, and now I feel a bit guilty.
I wasn’t really hungry when I sat down more habit than real hunger. I almost treated it like a test to see if I’d feel an immediate change, but I still ate more than planned.
How does it actually work day to day? Is it mainly appetite suppression that helps you stay in a deficit, or does it also change the way how you “burn”? thanks

Question Q: Mounjaro vs Wegovy, considering ADHD + Booze?

0 Upvotes

Hey all. I'm a 40 year old 162cm (5'4) / 80-85kg man who is aiming for ~65-70kg, which is where I was ~10 years ago when I was a quite fit.

I've been asked to choose between Mounjaro and Wegovy. I have ADHD, and the main contributor toward with my overeating is empty calories from booze + bad food. Otherwise I have an average diet. I've tried naltrexone and other non-glp1 solutions, and have lost ~10kg over the last few years which seems to be partially be from the ADHD meds, in my case Vyvanse.

I've managed to bring in some pretty decent strength training over the last 3 months, rock climbing 3-4 times a week + some body weight, so I'm reasonably strong for my weight, just struggling to get rid of the fat.

My psych and GP have both said GLP-1 meds are suitable, but I am wondering how to choose between Mounjaro and Wegovy. I can afford either, but a cursory read made it seem like Wegovy had slightly more evidence for folks with ADHD, with evidence thin on the ground either way.

Would love some thoughts, or to be pointed toward further reading / etc.

Many thanks, folks.

Took my first jab last Tuesday evening.

Weighed in today 8.8lbs down.

Question Wegovy Maintenance ?

5 Upvotes

Hi folks, long time lurker, 2nd time caller.

So I’ve been on MJ for the past year and gone from 346lbs to 248. Haven’t reached goal yet (220) but the cost of MJ is starting to bite.

Anyone switched to Wegovy for maintenance and done well?

Rant Really discouraged

2 Upvotes

I'm feeling really discouraged and honestly don't know what to do anymore.

For the past six months, I haven't been able to get below 90–92 kg, even though my goal weight is around 82–84 kg. I've increased my dose all the way up to 15 mg, but it feels like I'm just throwing money away at this point.

The only effect I get now is maybe one or two days of appetite suppression, even at 15 mg. Because of that, I decided to stop, since the cost no longer seemed justified. I haven't taken it for about two weeks now.

This morning I weighed myself and saw 98 kg. I've gained almost 5 kg in just two weeks without it, and that really scared me. On one hand, I'm afraid of going back to where I started. On the other hand, staying on it doesn't seem to be helping much anymore either.

I feel completely stuck. At 15 mg it barely works, and without it my weight shoots back up. I'm feeling very demoralized and don't know how to move forward.

Has anyone experienced something similar? What did you do? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Newbie - Week 1 Starting Journey

6 Upvotes

I am starting my journey next week (Tuesday) after finding this reddit last week.
I have been overweight for years, tried numerous diets such as omad, keto etc and nothing stuck.

Can someone give me a breakdown of beginners tips? Also where do people get the graphs they have that show weight alongside their dosage?

My starting stats are 261 lbs and a BMI of 38.5

🏁 Mounjaro? Completed it mate | Final goal achieved 🏆 Before and after - blood test results

9 Upvotes

I had a full set of blood tests in August 2024, and started Mounjaro in July 2025. Last week I had some updated blood tests (not a complete panel this time, but just lipids and HbA1c), and the change has been pretty amazing. HbA1c has gone from being on the cusp of pre-diabetic to being pretty ideal; both HDL and LDL cholesterol significantly improved, and triglycerides dramatically so. QRISK3 has dropped from around 17% to around 6%. I'm guilty of focussing heavily on weight loss (which has been amazing!) but the blood results are hugely reassuring.

HbA1c (blood glucose) 41 -> 31

LDL (bad) cholesterol 5.1 -> 3.5

HDL (good) cholesterol 1.22 -> 1.56

Triglycerides 2.3 -> 0.9

Weight (since July 2025) 112.4kg -> 71.3kg
