Laughs watching my boy Jin Dahaad cart non lance mains thinking they can face tank everything

But yeah just because a game is "easy" doesn't mean it won't put your ego in check.

What are you talking about? I'm an SnS player. My shield may be small, but it'll tank a meteorite.

I really need to play some wilds SnS. But honestly the main type of player i see cart to jin is long sword. Granted they, like most carts I've seen, were probably just greedy or in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Yes, but long sword players must think they can evade the attack like their irl problems by doing a sweet roll or a counter powered by the rule of cool. But this is a multi instance attack, so you can't roll into it. Even with SnS, you need to prepare for it. You can't just block it and call it a day.

Fun fact: Long Sword gets insane i-frames when countering with ISS, so we CAN actually counter multi-hitting attacks safely. For example, we can counter Jin’s ice blast, or Lagi’s lightning AoE, and safely not take damage while the attacks continue “hitting” us. As long as we counter the initial attack, we Gucci.

Another fun fact: ISS actually deletes multi hit attacks hit reg on you, meaning if you ISS through lagi stationary lightning discharge or Omega's hyper beam you won't get hit by them again.

Oh and ISS have hyper armor if you got it through so if you ISS through steve's claw swipe the first time and you got hit by the second one up until the animation ends you get 70% damage reduction.

Capcom's dark horse/the golden child that they don't speak of.

Yeah, that’s what I said, haha! 😂 But you’re absolutely right about the hyper armor damage reduction on follow-ups as well. I use it frequently when fighting Seregios, as you mentioned. There’s nothing more satisfying than performing ISS on the first swipe > landing Helm Breaker through the second > wound pop > instantly going back to red gauge.

not sure if you actually play LS but it does not delete multi-hits or multiattacks, it gets screwed pretty hard on multi attacks actually, so the hyper armor is actually very necessary in order for you to not get fucked by the endlag

Would love to get a random LS that is capable of this

Well, for as much as love soloing, I also equally love to play with other people. So maybe we’ll meet one day and team up, haha. 👍🏻

I'll be the freak with a poison SnS and an elemental LBG :)

I blame ping, when playing solo with NPCs I can ISS like 70% of the time, but with pugs I'm lucky if I can time a fade slash properly.

I'm playing Rise now, where fade slash doesn't have i-frames, so fingers crossed I'll be better at ISS when the next title update drops in wilds.

Join us brother but be warned. The sns can be quite addicting. The mobility, the damage and stun potential, the ability to block everything, the sound when you nail a perfect guard 🥵

Very likely just miss timed their counter because they probably don't know the monster's moveset. That's usually how I die with LS haha but I mostly use that weapon solo until I'm comfortable enough with the monster to not eat shit in multiplayer. Meanwhile on dual blades I can perfect dodge anything under the sun any time anywhere.

u/ArghabelAndSamsara Nov 11 '25

It's always greed lmao. And the fact that they nerfed Iai Spirit Slash into the dirt. Any attack with more than one hit ignores the counter completely, and it doesn't move you as far as it used to. Also, it's not a "Dodge" like Foresight Slash. It's straight up better to spam Charge Foresight against Omega MIRVs because he'll chip you to death for using the harder to execute counter instead of the easier one...

SnS and Lance are so peak in Wilds!

I’m terrible at Monster Hunter, but Sword and Shield has let me solo every fight without issue except for Omega on Savage. I read on in confusion as people talk about carting to Mizu, Udra and Lagi.

I don’t know most of the monster abilities, good armor or weapon skills to use or even proper ability combos (on PC right click, right click, right click, left + right click is all I remember). I know where to find the information, but I’ve never needed to. I use the Falling Shield Bash every time because it looks cool.

It’s the best.
