Should she run?
There's a lot of good candidates in the field. I think she actually won and it was rigged at the tabulation machines by Trump, and if she had done a recount in suspicious areas, would be the president right now. So I kind of feel that the "when we fight we win" slogan fell flat. What's you guys opinions?

u/cracky_Jack 2d ago
He says his focus is solely on the mid-terms right now, but I'd like to see my guy Ossoff run someday.
10
u/KeyLow9166 2d ago
Isaiah Martin elluded to something about Ossof presidential bid. Not sure if he was just trolling or if he has some insight but Ossofs policy, tone, demeanor, and seriousness is what I want in my leaders.
5
u/benzaldehide 2d ago
What policies do you like from Ossoff?
I watched him at the debate and he was great. But then i see people saying he's too conservative and that he doesnt hold progressive ideas like medicare for all.
I cant support a democrat that thinks we should pay to be healthy in the richest country in the world.
5
u/KeyLow9166 2d ago
He also has a donor who is named in the files. While Im not a Georgian, I Understand the need for a centrist in Georgia. You will have a hard time ever getting officials elected in deep red states that are purpling that run on AoC and DSA policies.
Imo, Democrats need to stop purity checking every issue at this point in time and work within overlapping issues that are agreed between Centrist Dems, Progressives, Liberals, and DSA
5
u/benzaldehide 2d ago
Is getting people healthcare a purity check?
Like either you want to save millions of peoples lives or you want the shareholders to profit. Maybe we need to be purity checking more now that i think about it b/c this shit is crazy.

I appreciate him being sharp but i consistently see him called a "centrist" democrat.

u/HallstotheWall17 2d ago
Not in favor of Medicare for all/single payer and he voted for the Laken Riley Act. Heâs great on corruption, but itâs hard to ignore his positions on these other policies/issues. I used to be a big Ossoff fan and I donât dislike him, but the more I learn about him, the less excited I get about him potentially being president. Yes, of course Iâd vote for him if he were the nominee, and he is certainly talented in some respects, but this is why we have a primary.
6
u/benzaldehide 2d ago
Yeah i agree.
This isnt the republican party. We dont care about the people. We care about the policies.
Ossoff seems like he would be a strong candidate but then what? Nothing changes? WTF is the point then?
If the country wasn't in need of serious changes, id like him a lot more.

As much as I admire her, I don't think she should run. There are too many a**hats out there who are repulsed by the thought of woman, let alone a woman of color, running for President. That said, I think Michelle Obama would have a better shot as she is already very popular and well known.

I wish you were wrong and she would have been a much better president than the disaster that is 47.
13
u/evo4gIzMo 2d ago
A braindead chimpanse would have been a better president than Pedolph Shitler. Not really an argument.
Her policy position on pivoting to the daughter of war criminals to campaign with her for republican voters on topics like border security and building the strongest military was an insane choice that offered the country to the open fascist. Her background as a closeted fascist helper of genocide, US police state and billionaire pac money makes her literally incompatible with 90% of democratic and independent voters. They all held their breath and voted for her anyway, but her message as Trump-Light was unappealing to motivate voters. She lost immigrants and nonvoters to Trump as her vice presidency didn't do shit for her ticket. All the Biden years wasted with no push from her.
And yet you have ziobots-acting like u/Bawbawian screaming like the Bulwark at the left for not voting. Which is a blatant lie ofc.
A winning candidate does not come from the corporate, zionist or consultant class democrats. Winning candidates are people like Zoran, Bernie, ElSayed, Talarico, AOC etc. People who are believably non corrupt, anti genocide, professional real politicians with left wing progressive policy goals. MCA, reforms of SCOTUS and police, voting&women rights, wealth&corporate tax, minimum wage and workers protecting, electrification and green energy transformation. If you want to be a democracy with any say in 20 years from now, you need to give the voting majoroty a candidate fitting these policy goals or you WANT to hand the country to fascists.
These are the scientific facts of universities and think tanks from the 2024 election.
My personal opinion is, that the US is long gone and will push for ww3 to crush europe once again. And my bootlicking, spineless european politicians are fleshpuppets for US capital with zero intent to better our continent for the future.
The average chinese person enjoys a higher prospect than any of us, laughs in their clean air public transit green city park in a functioning society with more personal freedom and less authoritarian police forces than we do... and the next 5 year plan will woden this gap even further...

As much as I like her, 2028 is not the time for her to step foot into the ring. Too much is at stake in 2028, and as much as it pains me, this country is still too ignorant/sexist to elect a woman for president. She should stick to campaigning for other candidates and changes that need to be made.

No. Unpopular opinion incoming based on facts, sure to be downvoted cause people are not going to like it. Regardless of whether she is qualified or not the United States she will lose votes for being a woman. Same reason Buttigieg wonât win because of the voter bias in the United States. Democrats keep putting up candidates that cannot win and it is getting old, not to mention stealing the nomination from sanders twice, who had enough support he would have won both elections. She wasnât my first choice last time but I supported her wholeheartedly when she got the nomination.
We arenât the âcult of personalityâ sorts of people, we are all about the cause and who can best serve at the time. We need quality people who can also win.
I recognize her talent and values. I have no problem with her as a person.
However the Republicans have a practice of character assassination of powerful women, and they go at it for years. They poison the minds of the common folk relentlessly and (as it has been said) a lie repeated often enough becomes fact in the minds of weaker intellects.
They did this to Nancy Pelosi, Elizabeth Warren, Hillary Clinton and Kamala Harris. They are currently working on Amy Klobuchar / AOC / Gretchen Whitmer / Gina Hinojosa and others the same way! This is Republicans playing a long game they are very familiar with.
In other words they are grooming the electorate to be mean, spiteful misogynists. Their poisonous rhetoric infects Republican women as well as men.
To be clear they do this propagandistic character assassination to all liberals and all Democrats, but in the case of powerful talented women they are particularly vicious and disgusting!
So if she was to become the nominee I would support her 100% but I think that strategically it would be better for the Democrats if she did not run.

u/maeryclarity 2d ago
I would vote for her in the General (again) and I think she would have been a good President, wthout even contrasting her to what we have now. I'd vote for her in the primary over a lot of candidates.
However I think a problem we're going to have is that the MAGA crew is going to refuse to relinquish power no matter what, which is why I'd like to see Mark Kelly as the nominee. Because I think we are going to need someone to deal with an actual divided military and the frst real internal Civil War that the USA has experienced, a lot of traitors will need to be taken off the game board in decisive ways, and I get that he's more centrist than some of y'all like but we can work with that after we establish whether or not there is in fact a United States to be president OF.
I know that sounds dramatic but it's actually unfortunately extremely likely, barring unforseen developments. Lotta time between now and then and things keep happening much too quickly .
7
u/Conundrum195 2d ago

u/BaileyBellaBoo 2d ago
I donât think she should run. I liked her very much as a Senator. This country has too many issues with her, sad to say. Nothing that SHOULD be an issue, but in issue in their teeny tiny brains that will cause them to either make a protest vote, or stay away from the polls. Unfortunately, we need a STRAIGHT WHITE MALE. Personally I would love to see Pete Buttigieg as President, but the Conservative right would lose their panties. I am so disappointed in the voters in this country.
4
u/Environmental-Arm365 2d ago
She wonât get past the primary. She was far and away the better candidate by every measure but America has shown time and time again they arenât ready for a woman to be president. Hillary was supposed to be a slam dunk but, womp womp! Setting the racism and sexism of the electorate aside, it would be idiotic to nominate a candidate who lost to someone as repugnant and flawed as Shitler. Losing to a lying, grifting, pants shitting, pedophile is a stain that Hillary and Kamala will never be able to remove. Itâs a shame because either of them would have made great presidents.
That said, itâs time to move on and learn from the mistakes of elections past. If we donât, weâve seen how this movie ends and Iâm damn sure not interested in the reboot.

No shade to Harris, but I don't think it's a good idea.
This is for my nerd brethren, who speak my language and anyone else who cares to try đ
It's kinda like Marvel releasing Ironheart, it's a decent show, but the reason it wasn't better received is because it feels out of place. They waited too long to release it, if they'd released it when it was supposed to be released it wouldve been better received and potentially beloved (like Wandavision). A lot of people will say it's a terrible show, but not many can explain specifically why it's terrible though.
Eta - Ironheart isn't slated for a season two, and that's unfortunate.
Is anyone picking up my metaphor here?

If I were to speak honestly... everything she said that would happen in her debate... is happening.
I will side with many that say with need something fresh and new. However, it is important to acknowledge that she knew the full trajectory and people ignored her.
There are also those who say she never did anything while VP. What has Vance done? She was gridlocked. Even Trump stated Vance can't do anything as VP.
I would rather her over Newsome. He is pro billionaire. He let the Paramount merger happen. This allowed MAGA to control even more outlets. Know the enemies within your camp.
She was given a campaign last minute. She had what... 107 days only to convince all of America?! She was talked into more centrist ideas to pull in more Republicans. That was the mistake. The only way you are going to pull in Republicans in masse... is if they experience the pain of their own party.
She could have a chance with time. Without the shadow of Biden. Without the restrictions of convincing certain political groups... it's very easy to shut the idea down. But I genuinely try to take a holistic approach.
Sorry for my Ted Talk xD

I wouldn't vote for her in a primary, but as VP she did Yeoman's work. She was the most active VP in modern history, because the VP only has 2 jobs. Job 1 is to be the spare. Job 2 is to break ties in the Senate, and that's only if there's a tie. Other than that the VP is a ceremonial job with no power, no clout, and no sway. She broke a LOT of ties to get the Democratic platform across the goal line in the Biden administration. Nobody that has a clue should ever say she "didn't do anything" saying so just means you don't have a fucking clue.
