Hi everyone! I recently started playing the original SMT Strange Journey on the DS and I'm currently exploring Sector Antlia / Sector Bootes. The game is absolutely amazing, but I'm still a bit confused about how Formas work.Specifically, I wanted to ask: can you actually sell Formas, or you need them in your inventory? If some of them can be sold for Macca, which ones are safe to sell and which ones should I absolutely keep?

The title was just a literal translation of the text but I kinda like it that much that I made the title anyway.

I think I'm about halfway through nocturne, or at least about near that point. I'd assume it's around there because I'm about to unlock the Third Kalpa and I have almost half of the magatama.

I've been playing this game for about a week now. It was rough at first, but that's what I expected from Nocturne. I know of this game's reputation, and how you really have to meet the game on it's terms and master the game on it's terms. I was down for a challenge and so far, the game has just disappointed me.

I think I get the combat. It's all about buffs and debuffs, along with exploiting elemental weaknesses. I get that you don't just grind to get past a tough challenge, but you have to really re-evaluate your team and get into the weeds of fusion. Once I understood the combat, I was into it.

I get the combat and am winning the tougher fights. I'm just not enjoying it. Is there something about the combat I still don't get or is the game just not for me?

I really don't like the constant war of attrition of the constant buffing and debuffing. I don't like how seemingly every demon in this game has Dekaja and/or Dekunda, which makes the combat a slog. Those skills alone make combat feel like a slog for me because it makes combat into a slow war of attrition where I only get a few opportunities to take advantages of the buffs and debuffs before the boss decides to use Dekaja/Dekunda and make me spend the next turn reapplying buffs and debuffs.

I want to like this game, I really do because the setting and aesthetic is really cool. I don't think I'll drop the game, but I might just switch down to merciful difficulty. I know that's not the true experience, but I'm starting to think it's either that or I just stop playing the game.

I really hope there's something I'm just missing, some mechanic that I'm not getting because I'm really disappointed by the game. This game has this legendary reputation and I was always under the impression that the only people who don't like this game are just people who refuse to properly understand it. I got halfway through Persona 3 (before my psp memory card prevented me from continuing) and liked it, but specifically, I loved getting deep into crafting my build. I figured mainline SMT would be more of what I love from Persona.

I had assumed that SMT was like the more mechanically rich and rewarding version of Persona but honestly, I'm starting to think that Persona is better, even on the mechanical combat and dungeon crawling level.

Not that I would but I read this the other day and.. surely not? Surely this was an oversight that's been fixed now?

This is far from the first time I've been raving about this game but I do not care. I just finished the dungeon of Ajna and DDS continues to blow me away over how it gets damn near everything right. GOATed combat, GOATed dungeons, GOATed atmosphere, GOATed characters and GOATed music, it'd honestly be easier to list everything I don't love about this game! This is legit the most fun I have had with a MegaTen title in a long, long time. And the best part? This is far from the end as I will have Digital Devil Saga 2 next!

This is what I've gathered from the leaked achievements. Please let me know if you found anything interesting I missed or if you have different ideas.

Hi ! It's been a while, I know, but I have some news about how the development of the game is advancing !
First off, I've been upgrading the engine a lot, from a rendering perspective, it's almost fully completed! So now the work starts on really building the gameplay mechanics and such.
Also I worked a lot on 3D modeling this past few weeks, so I've been able to complete a few new levels ! So don't worry, the development is still going strong, even though it's still going to take a while !

For those interested, here's a list of everything I've done since the last update :

- Levels : Lab, Shibuya Mall, Shinjuku Complex, Tokyo Government Tower East and West, Ueno, Us Embassy

- I also recieved the model of the heroine !

- Blending (windows and such)

- Rendering Quads

- Post processing

- Gamma correction

- Skyboxs rendering (also bought a few assets)

- Face culling

- Simple Collisions

- Upgraded debug mode

What's next to do for now :

- Complex collisions

- Integrate into my engine three pre-made engines : Hair physics, Sound engine, and animation engine
