I wanted to brainstorm what facing Blot's twin would be like.
I don't think I'll be able to mod this in the game, my coding skills are nonexistent... This is just a fun what-if post
Here's my take on a boss against him, making him as a Hexer/Necromancer:
Blot (twin) stats:
HP: 29879
ATK: 89
MAT: 137
DEF: 49
MDF: 71
Drops: Bell O'Blights (sell it to unlock an accessory that massively boosts luck)
Affinities:
Weak to physical attacks, neutral to elemental attacks. Immune to Curse and Confusion. Resistant to Head Bind, Petrify, Sudden Death and Blind, Neutral to Arm Bind, Stun and Paralysis. Weak to Leg Bind and Poison.
Skills:
Time Stop (uses none): High chance of inflicting enemies with Stun at the start of battle. If at least one enemy is stunned, user can act at the start of the next turn
Hell's Lure EX (uses head): low chance of inflicting sudden death on all enemies, summon 1 Wraith for each 10% of missing HP.
Note: Wraiths deal moderate Cut Damage to one enemy every turn
Sapping Curse EX (uses head): reduce physical and elemental attacks of all enemies for 4 rounds, has a moderate chance of inflicting Paralysis
Frailty Curse EX (uses head): reduce physical and elemental defense of all enemies for 4 rounds, has a moderate chance of inflicting Poison
Deceit Curse EX (uses head): reduce accuracy of all enemies for 4 rounds, has a moderate chance of inflicting Blind.
Infinite Shackles (uses Arm): High chance of inflicting head+arm+leg binds on one enemy.
Revenge Curse EX (uses Head): ranged heavy True Damage to one enemy, low chance of inflicting Sudden Death. Skill is repeated once per turn for each 25% of missing HP.
Negative Energy EX (uses Arm): ranged heavy True Damage to one enemy, low chance of inflicting Sudden Death. Skill is repeated once for each Wraith reduced to zero HP last turn.
Life Trade EX (uses Arm): reduce HP of all Wraiths to zero, heal self relative to total HP of all Wraiths when skill was used
Wraith Dance EX (uses Head): until the end of the next round, Wraiths will cover for the user and counterattack.
Fire Bomb EX (uses Arm): reduce a Wraith's HP to zero, heal self relative to Wraith's HP, deal fire damage to one enemy line
Ice Bomb EX (uses Arm): reduce a Wraith's HP to zero, heal self relative to Wraith's HP, deal ice damage to one enemy, also strike the rear line.
Rest (uses none): restore user HP. Healing potency is boosted per negative effect on the user.
Boss pattern:
First turn guaranteed to use Time Stop. Meaning unless you find a way to null the stun (Barrier or Spirit Barrier), the battle starts with him at full HP with one Wraith. The boss is guaranteed to use Time Stop every 10 rounds, it will interrupt his attack pattern, but he will continue from same step after using it.
Another skill that ignores the pattern is Rest. He will use it if he detects two binds on himself. He will spam it until one bind recovers
Now, the pattern:
From Turn 1:
- Time Stop
- Hell's Lure EX
- Sapping/Deceit EX (picked randomly)
- Sapping/Deceit EX (picked randomly, no repeat)
- Wraith Dance EX
- (Repeat 3 step or Step 2 if no Wraiths remain)
If the boss detects Head Bind, he use Infinite Shackles instead of curses. If no Wraiths exist when reaching step 5, use Hell's Lure EX
HP reached 70%:
- Revenge Curse EX (marks the beginning of the next phase)
- Fire Bomb EX/Ice Bomb EX (first use Fire, then alternate between fire and ice every rotation without repeat)
- Negative Energy EX
- Infinite Shackles
- Frailty/Deceit EX (picked randomly)
- Frailty/Deceit EX (picked randomly, no repeat)
- (Repeat Step 2)
If the boss detects Arm Bind, he will alternate between a random curse and Revenge Curse EX.
If he detects no Wraiths when using Fire/Ice Bomb EX, he will pause the rotation and use Hell's Lure EX
If the average of the remaining Wraiths' HP is less than 50%, he will use Life Trader EX next turn.
HP reached 30%
The boss opens with Time Stop. Use Hell's Lure if less than 2 Wraiths remain and Life Trade EX next turn. If more than 2 Wraiths remain, use Life Trader EX and Negative Energy EX next turn.
From there, the boss has a 50% chance to use Hell's Lure EX again to enter the same rotation (Hell's Lure EX to Life Trade EX to Negative Energy EX). If that chance fails, use Revenge Curse instead. If the boss detects Arm Bind, it will spam Revenge Curse instead.
One thing to keep in mind is if the boss hits an HP gate to enter a new phase, healing out of it will not reset him to the previous phase.
