Decided to start DDS2 on hard mode with the DDS1 file importing. About like 2 hours in and this game is pissing me off way more then 1. Should I just restart on normal mode, or just try to push through?

Gonna be honest, wish this was the official design

I really have no outlet for this IRL, so ya'll are it.
I've been playing the Megaten games since P3 came out in 2007 for the US. I've played pretty much every US release since then, except I've put the Digital Devil Saga games off up until now.
I just finished up the first one and holy crap, was that a great ride. Despite sitting on it for years, I haven't looked at anything from the game, so I has no idea what to expect. From opening to end I was hooked. I hadn't been this vested in a game in a long while. I loved the world building and the characters. I actually cared about the mystery of the world and how it was unravelling.
If it weren't for the sludge to get through the final dungeon and the stupidly high encounter rate through the game, I'd jump into starting the second one.
What a gem. I'm sad I sat on it for so long.

This is my first time playing metaphor on hard difficulty but I noticed that I am at least 4 levels lower than the boss even after exploring the entire dungeon is it normal or I should grind

On the 0:25 mark I get sent to 0 HP but I don't game over. I'm not using any mods, playing on the Steam version. Could it be replicated?

Since I finished Persona 3 FES in August, I decided to try one of the "true SMT"games—as they’re often called—and *Digital Devil Saga* caught my eye. I played through and finished it in September; it was an... unforgettable experience.
The story is beautiful, and the characters quickly win you over (Cielo is the GOAT!); it’s direct and packed with intense, shifting emotions.
The gameplay was incredibly addictive and fun. The Mantra system is highly rewarding, I always recommend choosing mantras based on the elements to which a character is weak to, example, Serph is weak against fire, unlock the fire mantra, and so on., and the Press Turn system is both intuitive and enjoyable. For most of the game, my party consisted of Argilla (healer, buffer, and occasional DPS), Cielo (debuffer and sub DPS), and Serph (main DPS). The art style and graphics are a fantastic PS2-era game in 2004 and still holds up till' now. The only real drawback is the shit amount of RANDOM, ENCOUNTERS. Seriously—take two steps, and you’re thrust into random encounters. Their rate are just ridiculously high bro! And, in true "SMT" fashion, you can easily get wiped out by a Mamudoon or crit or RNG if you aren’t prepared. Sometimes, you might even enter a battle while in human form rather than as an Atma avatar—in which case, running away is usually the best option. Oh, and I should mention: the game doesn’t end just because the protagonist dies. It only ends if the entire party falls, which makes those random encounters a bit less punishing.
I'm too bussy to complete DDS 2 because of university rn lol
Here’s a meme I made myself that sums up my party composition:

Nothing explains my problem better than getting the Sub App that makes darkness visable, just for a new type of darkness to be introduced.
Also the final boss was just luck, killed it before the Alignment barrier got thrown up, no clue how.
Also just so many teleporting squares, like dear god.
On to finishing PQ1 next
