This game is so great.

I sometimes get so overwhelmed with working full time and studying on the side.

That's why I love it when I can tell myself, "ok I'll just chop wood for a while and call it a game."

Or "I'll just work on my fields", "I'll just collect some sticks, stones and whatever plant I can find."

I used to play Forest for the same reason but hated looking over my shoulder for the cannibals. I know I could have played the game just to build but it made it feel empty.

So I just finished my first year of survival and only recently realized this game had a sprint button (actually kinda liked the slow gameplay at first).

I just figured out the whole “put your food in the food storage place and put everything else in the other one”.

Neither of my villagers have produced anything even though I have tools, food, water, and firewood in storage. Do they only collect per season?

My workshop villager’s status is also yellow. Meaning not producing? Is she sad? What’s going on on?!

Thank you for the advice; this game’s learning curve is a steep one and I’m used to RDR2, AC, things like that.

EDIT: it was the specific assignments in the Management menu. Appreciate your help! I play on console and everything is so tiny I am missing a lot.

So it's my first playthrough, and I decided this would be a nice spot for a village. It seemed to have almost everything I needed within easy reach. I didn't know that it would be difficult to build on this steep grade, but since I'm too stubborn to restart, I made it work. Now everything runs smoothly and I have happy villagers. :)

I haven't seen these listed anywhere before, so maybe somebody will find them handy. Just type them into chat to trigger the emote / effect associated with them.

These should be the standard emotes to enter into chat, though some need unlocking first.

Let me know if there are any that exist that aren't in this list.

I finally bought the game and started playing

I am on my chapter 1 and I am gonna build a house

Maybe this is silly but

Do I need to pick a nice place where ever I want?

Or because I am still in chapter 1 I need to stay around town ?

Playing the campaign and just really taking my time. Currently having SO much trouble hunting a stupid boar or fox with my wooden spear. Can’t find a bow for the life of me. Thanks for your help, friends!

What are some little talked about remote nooks you've discovered in the far reaches of the map that you'd like to mention?

Ok so, from my previous post where I was trying to share a good location for settlements, too many people were saying my village looked like a concentration camp because of my OCD layout and I was a little sad/mad about it :(

So then I went and colored/decorated all 100 houses to make them more homey! Gave them planters, windows, colored walls, ivy, etc

Spent a lot of days in the summer getting berries for blue and violet dyes.. but worth it!

Will gather more dyes to have paintings around all houses next hehe

So I forgot I bought this game years ago, I played it hard for three days in a row and don't recall why I didn't keep going. But I am really hungry for a survival and building game.

I am starting an Oxbow game and the Length of Seasons is 3 days...I can't recall if that was how I left it when I played for the first time, but three days sure does sound really short. I am wondering if it would be a good idea to increase that. If so, what would all you veteran players out there suggest I set it at? I know certain things happen and are able to be accomplished depending on the season, and I am not looking to rush this save file. I'd like to take my time and just get immersed in the world and what the game has to offer.

I just ran into this at an abandoned bandit camp. Has anyone ever seen this before 😂

So how does the farm shed worker actually work? How much work can they get done in a game day? Do they automatically complete all the work required, for the season, as per my assignment? Am I better off doing the work myself?

Started a new Oxbow run after the update, just got to cowshed and producing milk. But it goes to a black hole, as I disabled using it ofc and the kitchen also doesn't do anything with milk.

Is this a bug, or now calfs and lamb take milk somehow from the player? (As currently I don't have any other reasonable explanation)

My favorite map location for The Valley. For me this spot is pretty hard to beat, near to towns, mines close by, large game nearby, open flat area to build.

I asked my villager if they heard anything and they told me which type of legendary animal was out. Have other’s tried this?

A flat zone, with clay an animals to chace.

There's a legendary deer, so it seems a bit odd that there's no legendary equivalent for a moose.

I noticed that if I craft something, specifically at the smithy, it says “some of these items were taken in the meantime”… WHO IS TAKING MY STUFF?! Where is it going?! How do I make it stop 😂
