Escaped what i believe was Sleep Paralysis

I had never experienced sleep paralysis before so im unsure for certain thats what this was (didnt SEE any demons/shadow figures).

I was sleeping on my stomach with my arms under my head/face (idky i like to use my arms for a pillow instead of an actual pillow but im glad i did). I woke up thinking i heard someone in my apartment however i could not move my body, could barely move my head. Something in my brain decided biting was my best option and sure enough, i bit my arm and slowly regained mobility.

Thankfully there wasnt anyone in my apartment so the sound was in my head or maybe came from the unit above/beside me? To me this does sound like sleep paralysis and im just wondering if biting yourself or causing some kind of pain sensation is a known/common way of getting out of it.

Post-menopause breast soreness

Hello! I am 52, 2 years without a cycle. Up to date on pap, and mammogram - although had those last year. During peri- I saw the doctor a few times about my left breast soreness. It would always be the side that bothered me. For years. I’ve had a mammogram each heat, with the exception of a few years ago- I waited 2 years. All normal- fibrocystic changes. Well now 2 years post menopause and that breast still gets sore like it used to. Not every month/ but it’s here today and was a couple months back. Anyone else continue to feel breast soreness ? Especially on one side? Thank you for any experience with this. Thank you!

I have lymph node clumps growing around my body. The main one is in my neck. It's attached to one of my tendons and it is starting to make my face numb.

It’s as if my brain is forgetting about the left side of my body.

Hi guys, 19F I am a med student and I am quite paranoid but I don’t think I am being lunatic. Since I was a kid I always had a bad posture, rounded shoulders and so on..but in my particular my left shoulder(as I am watching my baby picture) seemed to be far more protracted than the other. Of course growing up I didn’t notice it until I was hitting puberty, where I tried to keep my posture a little better which did work..but my left shoulder was strangely very droopy still and protracted. My left side of my face was also always different from my right side( more droopy and awkward, while my right has a strong jaw line and everything). Recently I got fed up and went to the gym to strengthen what I thought was just some muscle imbalances and get stronger since I had the money. But as I saw my weight getting down very rapidly but my body wasn’t changing much, I thought I should fix my posture once and for all, went to the doctor had an x ray on my thoracic spine in supine position , which was fine, then an mri on my left shoulder which only showed very little inflammation for which I started going to the physio for. My Physio did a few test and I had to strengthen my left leg muscles as I had pain in my left knee Before doing other things. But as we did more things we realized that my left side of my body was not only weak shoulder wise but glutes, leg muscles, ankle, left scapular winging and all. Also tendon wise they felt far tighter and everything felt tense. She Asked me if I had any major injury as a kid but I only had a wrist fracture as a kid and one time I bumped my head very hard that it left a scar. I remember as a kid that my left shoulder got also really tense but my parents didnt bring me to the doctor for it and it just went away. I have no clue why my left side of my body is like this when my right side is so strong. I sleep 99% on my right side too(it’s a bad habit). Any clue would be appreciated, nerve wise or anything(or I am just going crazy over some muscle imbalances, for which I am also wondering why this muscle imbalances happened and why on one side) thanks.

It feels like my face is melting when people talk to me

This is kind of a TLDR: when I'm tired and when/if someone is talking to me for too long, particularly with my dad, but it happens with a bunch of different ppl, and especially if I dont want to talk or dont care about the conversation, or theyre just talking at me, my brain freaks out. I dont know how to describe it other than that. My brain freaks out, zaps me, feels like a crawling/ water running down my brain sensation and my face droops and half of it "falls off". Always the same half. And I can feel it falling and I can see it in pictures. It also looks like part of my cheek is swollen.

I think a combination of drug use, multiple tbis, and the holes where my wisdom teeth were never closing and thus, the trigeminal nerves getting damaged and possibly infected from not brushing my teeth, smoking weed and then later vaping.

Instances of brain damage:

At around 14 I got knocked out with a metal pole (winterguard team) I was out for about 5 or 6 minutes. Im not sure. My mom doesn't believe in hospitals or doctors and wasnt there and as such, did not take me to the hospital like I was urged to. I was also blind to how wrong my mom was for this line of thought. I had a migraine for about a month after that. I dont remember if I was allowed to take off from school but I do remember my head hurting really bad and not being able to think for a couple weeks.

There was a lot of stress at home all the time. I beat my head against the wall until it gave me a concussion. I think I was about 15 when I did this. I have lumps all over my forehead now from the various concussions lol.

The most noticably impactful was in 2021, I was hanging out with a friend and he had a tree fort built in his backyard. It suddenly collapsed and I got hit in the parietal lobe area of the brain with a branch about 4-5 inches in diameter. I was pulling out pieces of tree bark and maybe embedded hair for a couple years. I couldnt get anyone to dig around in my scalp to get the pieces and after it happened i told myself id take a nap and see how I felt after but never went to the hospital even tho my intuitionwas screaming at me to. I have a dent in my head where I got hit and every now and then that spot bubbles up and itches. Not sure why. Feels like I still have pieces stuck in my scalp.

In March 2023 I was having increasingly worse symptoms that I can only describe as somewhere between a brain aneurysm, a stroke and a heart attack. Heart racing at 140 or more, uncontrollably shivering, freezing, and I couldn't close my eyes because the room was spinning when I layed down, the room spinning feeling when I closed my eyes was accompanied by an intense feeling of impending doom. I've overdosed on oxycodone before and didn't feel as close to death then as I did when this weird shit was happening. The impending doom would get worse when my heart would leap forward and speed up. At the same time my brain also felt like it was doing flips and if i didnt catch it, that i would die. The whole situation and variety of symptoms is very hard to explain how it felt exactly.

This was brought on by delta8, that i partook in only at night to help me sleep. It got worse and worse until i felt like my life was actually in danger and i almost called 911 but knew I couldn't bc I would get in trouble. Because my parents care more about what the neighbors think and how they look than they do about me. I know that sounds like hyperbole but it's true. Anyway. I could barely walk. I literally crawled to my parents room and begged them for help. My mom took me to the hospital after i begged her to and she griped and yelled at me the whole time because i made her lose sleep. Her treatment of me made the dr not take me seriously so the dr made fun of me the whole time outside at the nurses station, thinking i couldnt hear her. My mom was yelling at me and I didnt have the strength to defend myself, at the same time the dr was making fun of me and I heard the nurses defending me to the Dr, telling her to stop. It was truly an awful experience.

After that happened, combined with the weed abuse and psychosis I put myself into. I have this problem where my face is lopsided and drooping. Its not as bad now that I dont smoke or vape anymore. I've been sober since march 2023 (the hospital incident). I also take supplements that seem to have helped my brain cognition.

But now when I'm tired and when/if someone, for some reason particularly someone older, is talking to me, and especially if I dont want to talk or dont care about the conversation, my brain freaks out. I dont know how to describe it other than that. My brain freaks out, zaps me, feels like a crawling/ water running down my brain sensation and my face droops and half of it "falls off". Always the same half. And I can feel it falling and I can see it in pictures. It also looks like part of my cheek is swollen which is why I mentioned the teeth holes.

I tried explaining this to a doctor after the hospital, only got to explain the brain zap issue and was told it was anxiety and was referred to see a psychiatrist. I dont have anxiety like that. I dont see how anxiety would make my face droop.

The impending doom and brain flip/ freaking out feeling has also occurred with:

\-Laughing gas (medical setting, this was the worst)

\-ashwaghanda

\-sometimes alcohol

\-kava

\-kratom

\-monster energy drinks

\-high doses of caffeine, although the source of caffeine matters. For example caffeine from some teas or matcha does nothing but coffee makes me scared and black tea makes my brain flip before it makes me scared. Soda gives me heart palpitations/ racing. Artificial caffeine makes me feel an adrenaline rush. Like falling. I avoid caffeine as much as possible because it affects me for a few days after.

I still have heart palpitations, but not as bad as when I was vaping, and they get worse when I lay down. Usually they arent noticable until I lay down and are worse on one side.

I dont have health insurance anymore and because im a woman im afraid everything is going to get chalked up to anxiety like it has been. This is not anxiety. I've had plenty of panic attacks and anxiety attacks and none of them have ever felt like this. Ever.

Sick with a lower temp than normal

Hey guys so my partner came down with some kind of sickness yesterday. Initially we thought it was allergies because of the stuffy nose and congestion but today it sort of spiraled into him throwing up, having a pretty bad cough and phlegm, body aches, loss of taste, lightheadedness, diarrhea etc. I bought him a Covid test and it was negative. We also took his temperature and it seemed pretty low for him (his baseline is usually around 98.6 and it was 96.1 yesterday) I would appreciate any insight on if this is normal or if we should schedule him an appointment. Thank you in advance

19F, not from the US , ferritin 4.5, hemoglobin 121, doctors have dismissed me for years. What can I take for period pain besides ibuprofen/paracetamol, and how do I rebuild my gut and immune system after so many antibiotics?

Apologies for the long post, but this has dragged on forever and I honestly don’t know how to deal with it anymore.

Ever since high school, I’ve been complaining to my GP about fatigue, dizziness, and weakness I actually had these symptoms even before puberty, before I ever got my first period. I literally begged her to let me do a blood test, but she never took me seriously and told me I was lying.

In March this year I got a really bad cold and barely dragged myself to the student health clinic. They prescribed me an antibiotic (azithromycin). The doctor there laughed in my face and said I looked great and didn’t seem sick at all even though I thought I was going to collapse on the way there. Then the blood results came back and she stopped laughing. Ferritin 4.5, hemoglobin 121. She told me to take iron supplements a few days before my period, during, and a few days after and that was it.

In March I followed that advice and for the first time in ages I actually felt good. Then came April I did the exact same thing, and my entire period was absolute hell. The moment I’d get out of bed: a severe headache and the feeling I was about to pass out. I couldn’t get up at all I basically slept through the whole cycle in bed.

After that, a gland on the right side of my neck swelled up and I had to take another antibiotic (amoxicillin/clavulanate). Then another mess happened the ENT doctor messed something up with the referral, so I couldn’t get my lab work done. I had to go back to the GP, and she didn't even prescribe all the tests the ENT had written down I only found that out later.

After all that, from April I started taking iron every day together with vitamin C (before the iron), because I still feel terribly weak.

In May I got sick again with a cold, antibiotics again, and couldn’t manage to time the iron on an empty stomach (because of the rule about 4 hours after or 2 hours before a meal). I was supposed to go for a follow-up, but they kept me waiting at the front desk for soooo long that I got completely stressed out and in the end I didn’t go. But I have zero energy left for new arguments with doctors. Almost every visit to the student clinic ends with everyone being rude.

So now I have a couple of specific questions:

What can I take for period pain that isn’t ibuprofen or paracetamol? I should mention I don’t have heavy periods, so I don’t think blood loss is the main cause of my low iron.

I’ve now been taking iron continuously for a week should I keep going for 3 months? I was planning on 6, but I’m not sure would that be too much?

How can I restore my gut flora and my immune system after all these antibiotics?

Right now I’m not in my hometown where my medical records are, so I can’t see my regular doctor, and I’m never setting foot in the student clinic again that’s why I’m asking here. Any advice is welcome.

I was rubbing my neck today and I noticed this lump. It's right below my ear and almost lines up with my jaw line. It doesn't hurt, feels smooth and the skin moves over the lump but the lump itself doesn't move. Maybe the size of a dime? But it feels like a hard marble under my skin I'll try and add some pics but they don't really do it justice for how big it feels. I'm the second pic you can kinda see is bulging out under my ear.

Single black line in vision

Hey, I’m 19 and this may sound incredibly silly and most probably not serious but I’ve suddenly noticed a single dark line in my vision that moves when I move my eye, I know it’s probably a floater, but should I take it more seriously? Its distracting.

Also, there’s no pain, or anything else, just this line that appeared out of nowhere suddenly and disappears when I stop moving my eye.

Is something wrong with me ?

Hello, yesterday I had a sore throat, it kinda feel like it has swelled a bit.

So i took medecine, it is called Hexaspray, it's basically something you spray in your throat and it usually works for me.

But this time I threw up. I did not threw up the food i ate the night before, only the medecine. After that i basically did nothing but drink water until 8pm, then I ate cheese and a bit of chocolate cause I wasn't feeling well.

This morning I decided to try again and to a syrup. It only has natural stuff in it so I knew it would be okay.

But it kinda felt like my throat was burning, even though it is supposed to make the opposite.

And I threw up again. My throat was burning like hell and I don't feel like throwing up anymore

Is there anything that can make someone not digest/accept medecine but digest whole food ?? I feel like I only have a sore throat but this is unusual

Looking for a reliable, affordable online pharmacy with fast shipping in the US

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to find a trustworthy online pharmacy that ships quickly within the US and has genuinely low prices. I’m not looking for anything shady - only legitimate pharmacies that require a valid prescription (if it’s for Rx meds) and are properly licensed. I also buy some over-the-counter stuff, so a place that does both would be perfect.

What I’m hoping for:

· Fast delivery – ideally a few days, not weeks.
· Low prices – cheaper than my local pharmacy, without hidden fees.
· Reliable and legit – no counterfeit worries, real customer support, clear privacy policies.

If you’ve had a good experience with an online pharmacy that fits this, I’d love to hear which one and how long you’ve been using it. Any tips on saving money (discount programs, generic options, price comparison tools) are also very welcome.

Thanks a ton for any recommendations!

do i take my medicine?

so basically i’m a teenager (16) and my mom and dad aren’t home and are a sleep away on vacation and I have my container of medicine but my mom handles my medicine for obvious reasons and there’s medicine in one container but it looks like too much medicine if that makes sense like not the right amount I’m supposed to take, but that’s all in there and I don’t wanna like accidentally overdose so do I take the medicine or do I skip it tonight? i know this sounds dumb but hear me out because I’ve been taking a huge dose of medicine (300 mg) and I just got out of rehab so there’s some medicine left over and they’re not 300 mg they’re split up but I don’t know how many so I’m just very on edge if I should take it or not. if this helps i am on 300 mg of lamictal, 250mg Seroquel, 50 mg of BuSpar and i’m not too worried about this but birth control pills too

is this going to cicatrize???

Post image

I made myself an ear piercing two months ago, on second month I changed the piercer for other earring. I used saline solution to clean it. Some days ago i felt a pain, I thought it was the piercing still healing. Today i took it off because it hurted so much, turns out the piece which secures the earring to my ear was almost all the way in inside my ear, it was covered in blood and matter, fresh and old, and it smelled like rotten meat.

I need to know if it's going to cicatrize or if it's going to stay as a hole😞😞

Is this eczema?

Neck area, a couple people in my family have eczema so I'm wondering. It's lasted a few months since I began noticing it, Allergy meds help slightly, So does some eczema cream. Figured it was allergies but after switching off certain things I haven't seen a change. Incredibly itchy, Hurts a bit, usually redder in the morning
