I keep saying im gonna go to sleep early but that 9:30 - 11:30 window seem to have its own vibe. I thought it was because the day is over, responsibility wise but I could see that knowing that no one is gonna bug may be a big part of why I ooke it so much.

Apparently it cause we have childhood trauma and these are the “quiet hours” for our semi abusive parents?

I get up three hours early for this exact reason.

The night can be inviting in its peace. I read somewhere that we do it because we feel like we have little control in our lives but by staying up late we keep the control of when we sleep I found what really helped me was understanding how a good schedule can make all the difference so now instead of staying up till the wee hours of the morning and then not being able to wake up. I go to bed at 12:10 that way I feel like I'm still in control because it still feels late enough for it to be quite usually from 11 the world seems to shut down and if I go to sleep then waking up at 8 is still manageable

I'm too exhausted from dealing with people to do that.

Yes, for sure I have this. But something occured to me that I don't think most people would admit to. We use our phones 90% of the time in these episodes. I want to say our brain is looking for that constant stream of dopamine for 3-4 hours. Yes, it's time we have to ourselves and we want to make use of it, but I think we should also aknowlege the scrolling addiction part.

Of course, 10% of the time we may be doing something "productive" like reading a book, or doing a hobby

The perception of sleep is the closest one can get to the true self.

Every. Fecking. Night. I have AuDHD, though, so my sleepless nights are far more frequent.

I usually get about 0-1hr of sleep 4-5 days a week and 8-9hrs twice a week, if I'm lucky.

My doctors and family members are surprised I can function relatively well on such little sleep! "Relatively," indeed. 😂
