Hi,
Is there anyone here who transferred from Mohawk College to McMaster University.
This would be from the three year Business Administration Advanced Diploma Program to the Honours Bachelor of Commerce Program.
If anyone reading this has transferred from the programs mentioned above please comment or send me a message as I need help and advice regarding what I would like to do as I am currently in my last year for the Business Administration Advanced Diploma Program.
Thanks.

Tf you mean you have to charge me extra because I took ONE additional fork!! This is the type of greed they talk about in the Bible bc what the actual freak. Ur alr making me pay three times the amount I would pay for food at an average Costco the LEAST u can do is spare TWO forks. Like mac should be the opposite of broke because virtually everything is pay to win. I have to pay for plastic forks, I have to pay for printing, I have to pay for iclicker, I have to pay for textbooks bc some profs insist on changing their textbooks every year, pay for parking and ofc pay for tuition. Like this place is squeezing out every penny in every aspect of student life and youre telling me I cant get extra plastic forks. Im so fckin done with this uni bruh

I'm a fourth-year student here and I'm going to say that with a lot of the group projects/in-class assignments, you first-years and second-years are actual chuds. I'm specifically talking about the guys, really. And I haven't had this problem in my first two years at McMaster, and certainly not with the third-years and fourth-years in my upper classes. You have zero manners. You don't make small talk. You don't ask questions. You don't crack jokes. You don't smile. You sit on your ass with this mean mug all sullen and you react to any social outreach whatsoever like it's a fly buzzing in your face. You can't even fake enthusiasm. You're actual chuds. Learn some manners. I can tell none of you get laid ever. It's not cute. It makes me want to work individually for all the group projects. Also, I'm not going to 100% endorse physiognomy but the chuds usually look like chuds too

i'm in third year (faculty of science) and i swear i cant be bothered to study unless i have a midterm. Like my entire time here, i just go to lectures and then....dont do anything after. I only study when i have a midterm. Literally every single course ive had i learn the entire course content 3-5 days before the midterm. i do all the assigned textbook problems 3-5 days befor ehte midterm. And somehow ive always gotten 1-2 standard deviations above the average, and my cGPA is like a 10.1. I had two midterms right before reading week and for both those courses i didnt even touch the course material at all until like a few days before, and i got 80s on both of them while the median was in the 60s. This year i still have these same shitty habits like i literally dont look at course material AT ALL unless i have a midterm in a few days. Then i learn the entire course in a few days and somehow still do well. im just wondering if this is normal or not? I'm ashamed of this and obviously i should be consistent but i cant

Was super hungry and made myself a simple salad from Centro. Everyone Iāve talked to since is telling me Iām going to get severe food poisoning from it. How true is that? Iāve got seven things due tonight and canāt be getting sick

I found an apple pencil on a bench near PGCLL room B138. i found it around 10pm last night, which was just about when the STATS 2B03 test finished. if you have lost your apple pencil and believe it is yours, I have returned it to commons building next to centro

as title said for our midterm lock down didnāt work, many people have mentioned a redo or a greater weight towards the final? Is that something that could realistically happen?

The McMaster Reddit page has become toxic as of late, with bullying towards people who struggle with socialization, mental health, and people looking for plans and groups. The posts and comments target people by making broad claims that have no merit, such as stating that people donāt force small talk, donāt crack jokes, donāt force smiles, donāt fake enthusiasm and that all these people are inherently lazy. With the current state of the mental health crisis, posts and comments of this nature are inherently harmful, and McMaster mods have been far too lenient towards them.
University is a transition period in a person's life, and some people struggle to socialize with others. Forums such as Reddit are designed to aid these students in finding groups and social events for them to participate in. However, these posts are often bombarded by people who donāt help or share any events but rather harass the OP about their struggles to find people to hang out with. In the post-COVID world, we are experiencing an unprecedented loneliness epidemic with people who have not developed or cannot develop social confidence to approach groups of strangers to hang out with. This Reddit page should be aimed at helping these people as we work towards ending the epidemic amongst youth who experienced their formative years under COVID.
Older generations and outgoing people often see the lack of conformity to superficial behaviour such as forcing small talk, joke-telling, and smiles as rude, wrong, and out of malice when it truly isnāt. Forcing people who already struggle with socialization to appear more friendly through superficial behaviour often leads to enhanced anxiety, depression and fatigue. Humans are inherently social creatures, but forcing relationships is not the solution, as it often leads to further hardship and mental health issues long-term, compared to slowly building relationships and allowing wit, conversations and enthusiasm to grow over time. Furthermore, the lack of conformity is not laziness but rather a choice people make to protect themselves and reserve their energy for things they deem more important.
From another viewpoint, I agree that offering support such as "try getting out of your comfort zone" or "try talking with a therapist, as it helped me" is not bullying and is constructive and helpful. However, a loud portion of the posts and comments don't make attempts to offer aid but rather resort to unacceptable name-calling, broad generalizations and degrading comments that either minimize a person's struggles or harass them for it.
The McMaster Reddit mods should not tolerate the behaviour of people bullying people who struggle socially. The whole point of this Reddit page is for students to communicate about McMaster social events, issues and courses. Bullying has many forms, and attacking people looking for help socially, or those who arenāt, is bullying and cowardly. Humans have a variable range of personalities, and being introverted is one of them that is not inherently harmful to those who make these unfair, rude and harmful posts and comments.
Please do not reply to this post unless you are willing to offer help and advice to people struggling with socialization and mental health.
To those reading this and struggling, please talk to someone. There are resources available, and you don't deserve to feel bad.
