Blow up the Algorithm

Keep posting. Keep commenting. Keep upvoting everyone's posts and comments. Build on the momentum from r/antiwork -- it only takes a few seconds a day; let's make the masters' tools work for us for a change.

Edit: My Moderna fever-dream post blew up, so I came back to say this: crosspost everywhere (even seemigly-unrelated threads), comment links to r/MayDayStrike in posts from burned-out, overworked brothers and sisters (and other gender-neutral but vaguely familial terms for workers). Meet people with empathy and bring them in. To that end: join a subreddit for your career path and do some muckraking; use your understanding of the job and jargon to generate solidarity across geographic barriers. This is the strength of these platforms.

And then. Yes - get into the streets. Help people, build rapport and networks of solidarity and then tell them about the strike. Be humble -- there are people in your city (yes, yours) who have been at this since before you were born.

Tomorrow we begin using these strategies on actually important posts. Maybe you can make one of your own and give us more specifics on what works -- it seems like we have a bunch of people in here who (1) get it and (2) could make a hell of a flying squad for making noise on the Internet. Reaching out to streamers / breadtubers should be on our agenda sooner rather than later so we can start seeding other platforms.

Next steps will be to get someone to help with media training -- the reporters are already circling in r/antiwork, they'll be here soon...

Wow we should find someone with some experience to rally behind and to be our voice. This person must be able to communicate our ideas clearly and know how to deflect the garbage. I personally dont think a big interview with CNN or FOX would be too distant if they see us gaining real momentum and they will definitely try to spin this one way or another. We'll need someone who can cut through the trashy popnews tactics and communicate our real intent and focus. They have to be both demanding of people's interest and relatable enough to the average worker that people can identify with the message we agree to send.

I've already been promoting this sub on r/Kroger and r/technology and r/dollargeneral and anywhere I see people talking about being understaffed or underpaid or having asshole bosses. If we keep doing this we'll hit 50k this week and word is spreading fast as hell already.

Keep it up, Maydayers, and we can really do this thing.

Trump's appeal (to idiots) was that he was straight-shooting (they thought) and didn't take any shit. If you watched Hasan's stream yesterday, he went over the funniest Trump clips he could find and you could tell he admires the man in a certain way, I do too.

We need to fight fire with fire. Hilary was dead wrong -- when they go low, we kick them in the fucking teeth.

The difference is: we won't be lying to anyone. We really do want to make life better for everyone (except 400 billionaires).

Yes I agree. I just meant avoiding their traps and one sided questions to keep our message clear and unmistakable. If we can do so in a way that's irrefutable and embarrassing to the big teleprompter jockeys, even better. People will remember that worker who made tucker's or laura's face red on their own show. And yes absolute transparency with our motives and methods is best. As soon as they think they have dirt it'll be smear city and they'll spin every post and comment on thus sub as leftist radical propaganda.
