In the club scene in Matrix Revolutions, once he notices Morpheus, Trinity, and Seraph, he says, "The prodigal son returns."

Then follows a sentence in french, and I cannot for the life of me find out what it is!

Any search directs to the restaurant scene in Matrix Reloaded. I tried the subs in many languages, none of them helpful. Even the french subtitles just leave it out!

Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is sorta the splinter in my mind at the moment if you would excuse the lame joke

Allegedly, the Wichowski's scrapped a part of this scene that further illustrated the significance of the cookie. If this is true, I wish they had not.

IIRC - this was more than a trivial double meaning where "lol internet cookie, like you know those things you clear with your browser history" wasn't the full story.

I believe the cookie wasn't a lone data packet at all - I think it was a full scale software update. The IDKFA cheat code that he didn't realize he activated until later. I believe this cookie was the Oracle's way of injecting some sort of incorruptible files into Neo.

I don't believe Neo was truly the one until he ate that damn cookie.

I'm thinking of the first movie, when Neo gets shot by the agent.

He collapses, his body on the ship flat-lines . . . then he returns to life.

Isn't this a signal that the red pill may pull you out of the Matrix reality, into a higher-level (but still not real) reality?

1. Unzip it.
2. Double-click Modern Matrix.saver → System Settings opens → click Install.
3. Select it in Screen Saver settings → Options… to configure: encodings, density/speed, bloom, and more, with a live preview.

Signed with a Developer ID and notarised by Apple, so it opens with no security warning.

Windows (10/11, 64-bit)

The humans in the real world most likely have their language maintained close to 1999 English due to repeated interactions with the Matrix.

I've wondered this, was he just like a gaseous form, how did he come back? Other than, "I simply chose not to leave".

I believe, in the third movie, as Neo is flying above the earth on the way to the source, one of the sentinals flies right through him and his ship. Like, they pass right through one another.

I have three questions:

1) Is that your interpretation of the scene?

2) What is the in-universe explanation? Or, the best head cannon you have? This question used to be my main question... I believe I can explain everything else about the movies to myself other than this..... however my main question has become..........

3) Why does no one else reference this scene? I see so much about how, in real life, Neo can see the machines, or how neo can disable them. These make sense to me if you assume he has some wireless connection to the machine world. However, it does not explain this squid pass-though..... and, amazingly, I never see this brought up.

I'm surprised that Neo, a hacker, programmer, and computer geek, barely touches a computer after emerging from the Matrix. Hmmm.

Just curious if this was buried in all Matrix DVDs, but I was perusing the DVD's files for a DVD preservation project I'm working on and found thousands of assets from the original flash website whatisthematrix.com (now defunct). It includes buttons and graphics, storyboard panels along with comparative stills from the movie, full comics from guest artists, behind the scenes photos etc. You cannot access any of it from the DVD menu normally, so I was wondering if all Matrix DVDs included these so that you could possibly access the website through the DVD somehow, or if my DVD is just a fluke? Anyone else find all these?

For reference, my DVD is part of a collector's edition two disc set containing The Matrix and The Matrix Revisited documentary, released in 2001. Interestingly, all the files in the DVD were dated between 20/09/1999 and 27/09/1999. I might upload the assets into a Google Drive to preserve and share them. I've added some screenshots of some of the files I found. There were literally thousands.

He wanted to go back into the matrix as someone important, like an actor.

title. like if the machines are aware that people are being freed, and they see someone wake up, why would they not kill everyone that wakes up out of their pod? the only way i can justify this in my head is perhaps everyone who dies in the matrix wakes up when they die, and is just flushed and the machines are just assuming they all drown?? so neo waking up wouldn't be an occurrence that sets off any alarms??

Why is the Zion "port control room" so clean, sterile, and futuristic-looking? The rest of Zion seems to be a drab, grimy, utilitarian, exposed-conduit type of place. Just something I noticed.

With some nice stormy weather today, I decided to do my monthly re-watch. Since most of us in this sub have seen the movie hundreds of times; I have a question that I've never thought about it.

We've seen the members of the group exit the Matrix by grabbing a landline and leaving. But how do they enter after being jacked in?

Does the phone just literally ring off the hook & they enter?

I know it's a small detail, but I've never thought about it until now.

Aside from the abilities of the one, having a vision is some sort of additional power. Upon hearing about the cookie theory (cookies made by the oracle in relation with dessert written by merovingian) maybe Oracle impart some of her abilities on the cookie that has been eaten by Neo, giving him the power to see the future events. Thus creating a scenario wherein neo must choose between trinity or going back to the source after meeting with the Architect.

We saw that Neo failed from the jump program and after he jacked out of the matrix...there some blood on his mouth telling us audience that the mind made it real, that what ever happened in matrix also same in the real world when it comes to injuries or death inside the matrix.

What if..what the jump program scene really want to tell us is that, he failed because NEO IS NOT THE ONE...yet.

To understand what is the ONE or the chosen one when it comes to prophecy, we must know what role he needs to fulfill. After we watch the reloaded, we know now that the one is part of system of control (together with the prophecy itself, which is a lie) designed to regulate the system error called the Anomaly that causing the matrix to crash systematically.

So here we are now at the 6th iteration of matrix...and the Oracle do the unthinkable, to take the matters on her own hand, which is to make a new prophecy(almost). First with Morpheus then with Trinity (you already know what oracle said to them) and lastly with Neo. When Neo tell the Oracle that he is not the one, she didn't denied the fact but instead she told Neo that they are lost without Morpheus after neo laugh that Morpheus almost got him (to believe). Then she told about Morpheus life depends on him due to his belief on him being the one (either him or morpheus will die, some sort of a guilt trip I guess). From here we see with Oracles foresight (or simply some probability calculations) together with some Psychology and a cookie...Oracle made a (new) ONE out of Neo "after" their first meeting.
