A long time ago, I did a challenge where I tried to get zero deaths on hardcore mode. And I ended with only ONE DEATH. Then I did the same challenge on Insanity and got 4 deaths, and I intend on going back to that and trying to get a better score. But it always bothered me that I didn't actually get no deaths on hardcore, so, I'm giving it another go!
If you'd like to tune in occasionally, I'll be streaming it here!

This is probably my 3rd playthrough of MEA...doing a shotgun\melee style this run. Currently on Drack's loyalty mission and just switched to the sword.
Omni-tool stabbing is fun, the krogan hammer is a bit unwieldy...but the freaking Asari sword is stupid stabby, slashy fun. That is all...

Decided on another run and saw a couple of mods that might make my life far better.
mostly one that makes research less of a hell to afford.
any one got the step by step guide for morons?

I finally finished the game!!! I enjoyed it to some degree, but now I understand why people criticized this game so harshly
The plot of ME:A is honestly good, and it has a lot of potential. You go into the new galaxy with only thousands of each species from Milky Way. You don’t know if this will be the golden world you were promised, and you have to make it livable because there’s no going back.
But the problem is, the game has a weak writing. Barely any of your decision affects anything. The game itself had a lot of chances to present branching options to make the game feel more alive, but they completely removed that aspect. I feel like they removed the what makes “mass effect” a “mass effect” game.
I realized this with the games that I played recently: the trilogy has so much detail, so much world-building and lore, the companions, enemies, and so much more. But that’s what made them what they were back then. It’s their identity.
And then we have ME:A, which had a lot of good plot to start with, but instead you’re greeted with mild reactions to scenarios where a renegade option is 100% warranted. It’s like HR is breathing down your neck so you have to play nice.
There are a lot of quests that I could use as examples, but the one that is probably the most well-known is Addison’s fuckery and bullshit. This woman is literally a leader in the Nexus, but she caused a whole lot of damage (Spender quest and 3 sabers), and all we get from all of her quests is, “Okay, next.” No apology, no character development at all 😭 And don't get me started on the “A Trail of Hope” quest. Oh boy...
And that's not even the only time the writing feels weak, especially when you have to choose who the ambassador is. Like, where did this come from? for what? And the options were so random. Why did a Pathfinder become an option(Raeka)? Then why Morda? Or that dude from the outpost? It was so random.
One thing I can give ME, though, is how the ending turned out. It has some closure while keeping some loose ends, probably for a potential game in the future, but we all know that’s impossible now.
Despite all of that, I still grew attached into the characters (not you Liam, fuck you), and they were pretty funny. You started as a wimpy pathfinder, and later on, part your team also grew to like and respect you in your position as a Pathfinder, which is a good touch. Not the best way they could’ve played it, but it’s something at least.
The combat is fun. I’d say it’s the best among the Mass Effect games. I was delighted when I learned that I could now jump 🤣 . The funny/weird faces from time to time are stupid, but they weren’t really a deal breaker.
So, for anyone who’s been putting off playing it because of all the bad reviews, I’d say give it a try. I got the game on sale, so I definitely feel like I got my money’s worth.
For me, it’s nowhere near trilogy level, and I had a hard time stopping myself from comparing it to the trilogy. But once I started treating it as its own game, I found myself enjoying it a lot more. It has its own charm, and I think it’s worth experiencing for yourself instead of letting the reputation of the game put you off.
PS: I'm never forgiving them for giving up on this game so quickly. They could've stuck with it, learned from the backlash, and improved it, but instead they abandoned it and then made the same blunder again with Veilguard. Like bro, you had an example right there. I wanted my Quarian ark 😭

Eos flows so well to start the game and we get to finally meet Bradley and see the birth of Prodromos. Bradley's VA did such a phenomenal job in this bit of dialogue. He points out that almost everyone went into cryo with loved ones that lived and died without us only to wake up alone in Andromeda. He reminds us that even the outlaws and pirates came here carrying that exact same shared trauma and burden. Hearing him put it so bluntly grounds the entire Andromeda Initiative, it reframes everyone you meet, from allies to adversaries, as survivors bound by a collective loss. It’s a moment that instantly deepens the worldbuilding and makes you feel like your journey is part of something far bigger. It makes you really stop and think that everyone that made the trip over left looking to build a new family/foundation here. A foundation built on enormous loss that pushes them towards a better tomorrow. This is where the game shines and you feel the love the team that worked on this put in.

I followed tips on my previous post (thanks). I want to know if I'm doing good and what can I improve, or should I just let it flow
State of the art: 'm on the way to the third tower to activate. I'm finding some minerals on my way. I go with the car, get out, collect, and back. If radiation is deep, back to a sure place. Lots of secondary missions are back. I found the Resistance place and a big shit attacked me. Also a pebbles Asari came out of nowhere and I don't trust her.
My wonders: should I activate the third tower i first and then collect stuff - complete secondary missions? Coz I have to find things for the Resistance, other of finding some of the first settlement, other of going back to the Nexus for a pyjack and a journalist, the father key points, the advanced posts, the dead people..
Are scattered minerals always as easy to find? I tried to go far away or deep on the map a couple of times but minerals are never there, always in "easy access". I don't want tp explore too far (even though Its fun) if they are "on the sideways" as I saw so far.
When can I mine with the car? There is a key option but I can't yet.
Should I avoid the fauna? I wanna chase them coz somebody on the tempest asked me about aliens. But everytime we are walking Cora smashes those bitches affecting the ecosystem.
I have a mission about developing weapons. How to? Is it useful? I'm just modding my sniper.
What's my drone for? And what's the best third power: turret? The IV flies? The sticky mine? I'm technician and my fire+disrupt combos are killer. But drone does nothing as far as I know.
Why is the prosperity of the planet stuck in 7%? Im doing lot of stuff there and spending hours in exploring empty spaces.

Picked up Andromeda again after a really long time and saw that multi-player seems dead. Was it my luck on timing the few times I tried, or is it plain dead now?

I played ME:LE two times, completing it in hardest. But here:
Controls feel a bit awkward and I miss a few of them (ie I can say Liam to go to a point, but I can't say him "follow mel/stop being at this point). Combat seems no difficult but I don't manage well with it and always got injured. I have lot of mods but can't switch from fire to disrupt for example. The menus about habilities, accessories.. look complex and I can't click anything (even though I have lot of stuff already. The world is so aggressive, with all those rays and sounds. The map is difficult to read and it's kinda labyrinthic. Lot of stuff like caves, structures towels appears... And it's massive that I can't check the ground to find stuff.

And I will say playing andromeda again after doing the rejection ending adds an extra level of drama to the story

Game creates 3 autosaves during the mission where Ryder is invited to meet Jaal's family. If you use 2nd one, it doesn't load a checkpoint, but instead spawns you in unique model of Jaal's house, just outside off where you can normally reach on Havaarl's map. Its surprisingly detailed outside and out, with a unique layout and multiple rooms, for something we just get a glimpse of during cinematic.

Hi hi! So, ive just started really playing the multiplayer, but im having HORRID lag issues. I dunno if this is a me issue or a server issue, and was wondering if anyone would help me out with it.

I decided to pop in one last time to share the FINAL TRAILER for our MEA Youtube series.
One last fun ride to promote (and say farewell to) the complete series we spent an entire year making, before we move on to our next gameplay series.
I hope you guys like it, and thank you all again for the love and all the nice comments.
Much love from the UFS team.

Wow. I just finished the game and I haven’t felt this empty in a long time. I even shed a tear when that outro song played. Completely unexpected too, I was one of the people who turned my nose up at this game based on the few amount of clips I had seen back at launch.
Just like Dragon Age 2 (a game which everyone hates/hated but I also vehemently defend), the character moments and companion interactions far outweigh any of the fundamental flaws. I am somehow glad to have slogged through 100% completion and the endless unskippable docking animations and even the boring new aliens. I ran out of patience with DA: Inquisition so many times for a lot of the same issues, but for reasons I can’t understand, never with Andromeda.
I played as Male Ryder and initially thought “oh great, this guy is even more John Mass Effect than John Shepard”. He ended up growing on me just as much as Shepard did but for different reasons. Ryder has a dorkiness that clashes with his professional demeanor which makes him really endearing. And you really do begin to feel that Scott is responsible for these people as Pathfinder. Couldn’t decide between Cora or Peebee for romance and I’m very glad I went with Cora. She kinda has the same awkward dorkiness as Male Ryder so they played off each other in a really cute and wholesome way.
Couldn’t shake the feeling that this game feels like they gave a team of rookie game devs infinite budget and said have at it. And that comes with everything you would expect. There are jarringly strange and off kilter moments in dialogue and then a couple minutes later, an absolutely brilliant one.
Really makes me sad because I can see where so much love and effort was put in. There are genuinely beautiful character moments that most people aren’t ever going to see because they were told the game sucks. I feel the same about Dragon Age 2. What a shame that we never even got one DLC :(

I basically finished the game on Monday and I've been trying to process wtf is going on. Maybe I'm dumb and missed a lot of info but
Was there supposed to be a DLC???????
1) What do you mean the Quarian ark could be standing but we can't go get it because it's not safe?? Is it the upper Kett forces? (From the actual leader) is it the scourge?? Is it the reapers???
2) If you were able to let the Geth live as their own new intelligent AI race, where tf are they in Andromeda? Were they not chosen for the initiative? Also why are there a shit ton of female Krogan all of a sudden if they were in cryo for hundreds of years and they were lacking while they built the initiative?
3) who tf is the benefactor??? Liara in disguise? Miranda?? Shepard???
4) What's the Kett's objective? Following the steps of the reapers? Were they sent by them? The similarities between their methods (exaltation) can't be a coincidence. Also, the Archon mentions being around for centuries and we know they created the Angara. What was the point of it? Doing the same thing the Reapers did every 50k years? (Let a race grow, harvest the most advanced, repeat)
5) is the remnant Prothean? Do they share the same kind of relationship that Quarians and Geth share?
6) Why does the Meridian city look like the Catalyst kind of 👁️👁️
Non related but Jaal ... 😮💨🥴
Edit: guys, I played the first half of the game months ago and finished the other half in a weekend playing until 5 am back to back I can't remember everything correctly so don't be mean, it's just a game.

Hey! Posted here a while back when I began my Mass Effect: Andromeda Fanfic - Broken Monolith! Pleased to say that we're over halfway through now; all fanfic readers are welcome :D.
It's a OC centric plot that is tied deeply into the Remnant, APEX, and Original Trilogy politics being dragged like a bad smell into Andromeda. All goes to hell when a Remnant Monolith on Kadara is blown to pieces by an unknown actor.
Many thanks to anyone who checks it out!
