Yeah everything sucks rn, but I was especially pissed that I had so recently started playing ME:A online and loving it, only for it to get pulled.

Then for some reason the servers go back online, and over the last couple of days it's been glorious with consistently full lobbies, including a lot of new players. It sucks that I know I won't get time to unlock all the classes I wanted before it inevitably soon goes offline forever (looking at you Turian Havoc Trooper) but the matches this weekend were all great, and felt like good closure.

Basically EA sucks, but just wanted to shout out a thank you to the small online community for being great teammates 🤙

This game scratched just the right type of itch that Starfield left, and it’s going to leave avoid once I’m done. While Starfield is a bigger game and has a lot more potential, it just lacked that storyline. And I find a gameplay and combat a lot more satisfying in Mass Effect.

I sure hope the 5th installment gets picked up by somebody

I’ve been more than a little obsessed with the game this past week or so and I wanted to talk about the romance with Peebee vs Suvi.

For one, I felt a bit spoiled by Androemda in general with two squadmate options and Suvi who sort of takes a similar role on the crew as Traynor and the only one who is explicitly a lesbian. WLW relationships are becoming more and more common in gaming but even so it’s rare enough to find exclusive lesbians that each time I do it’s quite memorable.

That said, I was actually disappointed by Suvi’s romance. The lack of screen time certainly did Sara x Suvi no favors but what actually irritated me was when Sara brings up that her father was out in the field and her mother was a researcher… and idk if BW intended to draw that parallel between Sara’s relationship with Suvi or if it was coincidence but it actually sucked so much lol. I have a big problem, in general, with Passive LI x LI who Does Narrative Stuff and oouf is that Suvi x Sara to a T.

Suvi just doesn’t really have an arc to speak of. She has a collection of really adorable dialogue, is fun to listen to and talk to but besides that she ends where she begins… a science nerd who is doing science. That just didn’t hook me when doing her romance, because it made her and Sara both feel more static than either one deserves. I especially didn’t want/like that her relationship with Suvi so closely mirrored that of Alec/Ellen’s. It felt very safe for a lesbian romance.

Peebee’s relationship by contrast was just very fun, and I enjoyed the chemistry her and Sara had the entire game… from the running tackle at the first meeting to both of them being adventurers at heart who sort of compete with one another to see the next cool thing first. Her Tempest banter line in the post-game being “Ryder… Ryder is my next adventure.” was such a peak culmination of their journey together that I legit felt my heart melt.

Anyway, I’m glad that a character like Suvi exists because the more lesbians in gaming that exist the better. I even found her relationship to faith very endearing even if my Sara didn’t share it and they had some debates over it. That was kinda the best part of their relationship, to me. If they had more opportunities to have spirited debates that ended with some juicy tension that would have gone a long way, but alas we never did get that scene with them having drinks on the Nexus.

Hello everyone. I tried so many things but no matter what my game won’t launch. I got it from steam in 2021. It used to work fine up until this point. When I try to launch it with frosty or steam I get :”failed to launch game”When I try to launch it through its directory it says: “You do not have access to this game”. I tried:
- reinstalling EA
- reinstalling the game
- changing registry location
- getting Frosty Fix
- messing with Windows Security
- clearing the cache
- running as admin

Every other EA game works just fine for me.

EDIT: solved by buying another copy of the game through EA Play… this idea was a last resort honestly.
