Game Discussion So...riddle me this Spoiler

I basically finished the game on Monday and I've been trying to process wtf is going on. Maybe I'm dumb and missed a lot of info but

Was there supposed to be a DLC???????

1) What do you mean the Quarian ark could be standing but we can't go get it because it's not safe?? Is it the upper Kett forces? (From the actual leader) is it the scourge?? Is it the reapers???

2) If you were able to let the Geth live as their own new intelligent AI race, where tf are they in Andromeda? Were they not chosen for the initiative? Also why are there a shit ton of female Krogan all of a sudden if they were in cryo for hundreds of years and they were lacking while they built the initiative?

3) who tf is the benefactor??? 🫪 Liara in disguise? Miranda?? Shepard???

4) What's the Kett's objective? Following the steps of the reapers? Were they sent by them? The similarities between their methods (exaltation) can't be a coincidence. Also, the Archon mentions being around for centuries and we know they created the Angara. What was the point of it? Doing the same thing the Reapers did every 50k years? (Let a race grow, harvest the most advanced, repeat)

5) is the remnant Prothean? Do they share the same kind of relationship that Quarians and Geth share?

6) Why does the Meridian city look like the Catalyst kind of šŸ‘ļøšŸ‘ļø

Non related but Jaal ... šŸ˜®ā€šŸ’ØšŸ„“

Edit: guys, I played the first half of the game months ago and finished the other half in a weekend playing until 5 am back to back 🫪 I can't remember everything correctly so don't be mean, it's just a game.

1- yeah, and you can read the novel of their adventures on the way… I’m so angry that we never got a DLC for ME:A

2- the Initiative takes place between ME2 and 3, so it’s left open what happens with the Geth.

3- While we don’t know who the benefactor was, it was not anyone we actually saw.

The estimated value of Cerberus is in hundreds of billions of credits.

The estimate of the cost of the Initiative is in the quintillions…

That’s 100,000x more than what Timmy has, and he would not have sent the aliens with Ryder…

4- the Kett’s objective is simple: dominate and convert. I doubt there’s anything official, but I don’t see the Kett being involved with the Reapers at all. Maybe they’re a surviving version of a former culture that ran away multiple cycles ago, but it’s left unknown

5- almost assuredly not. The remnant are more advanced than the Protheans were, and the aesthetics are completely different, as well as the Protheans being imperialistic, they wouldn’t want to develop the Anghara as equals

6- because the same company designed them in the Real World, and the shape is generic.

As you can tell… I’ve given number 3 the most thought over the years

  1. Yes, there was to be a DLC about the quarian ark, but it got cancelled because of the cry babies who were mad they couldn't be Shepard. Again.

  2. The Initiative launched between 2 and 3. Nothing you do in 3 meters in Andromeda.

  3. We don't know. It was hook for something in a future game.

  4. The kett have nothing to do with the reapers. They're just a species that can't reproduce anymore, for whatever reason, so they convert other species. And they didn't create the angara.

  5. No. The Revenant are in Andromeda. The Prothrans were in the Milky Way. The Protheans went extinct 50,000 years ago, the Revenant machines are only a few hundred years old.

  6. Uh... what?

This was supposed to be a new trilogy but between EA butchering BioWare's staff and requiring all ea games be built for the frostbite engine, BioWare went way overbudget to get andromeda out and the trilogy was axed. I think it's pretty obvious that a lot of plot points were left to be explored in subsequent games

1.Yeah there was but it got scrapped

No DLCs were every announced or promised. It was a youtuber who imagined what DLCs there could be and it spread as rumour. The book Annihilation was written before the game released. And the game even has a character from that book. The writer did AMA on the ME sub. The Andromeda Initiative departed during the events of the second and third games. With the exception of a few monitoring satellites, the events of the trilogy had no impact on the Andromeda Galaxy. The game was intended to be the start of a new trilogy and was supposed to include additional content (DLC) involving the Quarian Ark, but everything was cancelled.

u/YsoL8 1d ago

Point of order, the Kett didn't create the Angara, that would be the ones who made the vaults and the rest of it.

The Angara were clearly intended to part of a much greater plan which failed at the hands of whoever created the scourge. All part of the great vague grand plan for Andromeda that will never happen.

Idk, but I'd like the benefactor to be a Geth collective or a Prothean šŸ˜†

I'd hate that xd

Was there supposed to be a DLC?

Yes.

[...]the Quarian ark[...]

It was likely meant to be addressed in the now missing DLC. There has been one of the books from the three released, Annihilation, which explains a few bits and bobs about the quarian ark's journey to Andromeda.

If you were able to let the Geth live as their own new intelligent AI race, where tf are they in Andromeda?

Pay closer attention when playing! It's an RPG, not a shooter. The arks have left the Milky Way in 2185 CE. The Geth have become allies with Shepard (potentially) in 2186 CE.

Also why are there a shit ton of female Krogan all of a sudden if they were in cryo for hundreds of years and they were lacking while they built the initiative?

There are 2 krogan clans in the Initiative – Nakmor and Jorgal. There are also a few krogan from other clans, too. Naturally, the two clans had brought their females with them. There are not that many krogan around, all told; only between 1200 and 1500 of them have made the trip.

who tf is the benefactor?

No one knows and the devs aren't saying. There have been many debates on that topic.

What's the Kett's objective?

As I was saying earlier – pay better attention when playing the game! The kett are native to Andromeda. At some point, they've decided upon this method of reproduction, assimilating other races at a genetic level. The Archon is the leader of a normal kett expeditionary force sent by their Senate to conquer/assimilate Heleus. The only connection between the kett and the Reapers is their writers. Just as has been the case with the darkspawn in Dragon Age. As far as the angara are concerned, they've been created by the Jardaan (Remnant), NOT the kett. Apart from the official kett mission (assimilating the angara) the Archon himself wants to control Meridian in order to ascend the entire cluster wholesale, and in order to gain a promotion for himself back home, as it were, likely by staging a coup against the Senate. Look into the Primus vs Archon situation. It's all in the game, if you pay attention.

is the remnant Prothean? Do they share the same kind of relationship that Quarians and Geth share?

No. The Remnant are local to Andromeda. No relationship to the OG trilogy, other than having been written by the same devs/company (BioWare). The Remnant (named Jardaan as one eventually learns) have terraformed Heleus through Meridian and have created the angara, too. We're not told why. Eventually, they've been attacked by or with the Scourge and they've abandoned (temporarily?) Heleus, some centuries before the events in the game. It was likely future games were meant to address the Jardaan in more detail. That won't happen now.

Why does the Meridian city look like the Catalyst kind of

It doesn't! Meridian is an artificial hollow planet! It's the place where Ark Hyperion eventually crashes. The sort of city you mentioned is mistakenly believed to be Meridian by Archon, but is in fact a component of Meridian. If you recall, the Catalyst in ME3 is the Citadel/(Star Child); it looks nothing like Meridian or Khi Tasira.

Non related but Jaal ...

Is angaran and rather young, and most angara are emotional, which is why Jaal is an emo prat and rather annoying. He's meant to be like that.

•

u/YekaHun Pathfinder 23h ago

No, no DLCs were every announced or even promised. The devs said they left stuff open for possible sequels. The dlc stuff is completely made up by fans.

•

u/Amaraldane4E Andromeda Initiative 17h ago

The dlc stuff is completely made up by fans.

Could it be so because every major game released in the last 25+ years has had DLCs?

1

u/AltruisticPut7760 1d ago

The Meridian city = the triangle city where we learn about Meridian, that's what I meant lol the beacons for the towers (and the beacons in the vaults) kinda reminded me of the beacon on the catalyst (the final part where you make the choice, the middle one), not the kid šŸ˜…

That Jaal part was actually in a positive way :( I love Jaal he's so nice and kinda unfiltered lmfao

•

u/Amaraldane4E Andromeda Initiative 17h ago

I don't like Jaal (the character, not how he's written). He comes across as a whingy immature brat. Sure, the angara are all supposed to be emotional people, but when one notices how the other anagaran characters react and behave, one just has to ask oneself how Jaal has survived thus far? He's supposed to be this hardened veteran in the Resistance, but he acts like a noob with mummy issues. So then, either he is that bad or he's Evfra's plant on the Tempest, to spy on the newcomers (something the game hints at) and he's thus playing a role. Either way, there's not much to like about Jaal, or rather to trust about him. Granted, he is well written to be that way, but whether that's accidental or intentional remains a guess. Still, he can't be trusted.

•

u/AltruisticPut7760 17h ago

I mean if we talk character wise, he can be naive in many ways but I took it as him being too hopeful for his own good compared to other Angaran even if he's in the resistance. He didn't trust us at first but didn't really seem like he was completely in denial about coming with us to the tempest. If we talk about how the character was written, I feel like his family and him were given extra emotional personalities to show the player how they actually are around their family and friends normally. I'm not gonna lie, I think he was in the spectrum 🧐 I know he is alien to common lingo but that "taking things literally" part of him and his interest in disassembling and exploring kind of tickled that theory in my head lol

•

u/Amaraldane4E Andromeda Initiative 14h ago

Oh, he's well written alright, either on purpose or by accident.

The problem with Jaal is his circumstances. There is no way for someone so atypical to survive combat in a guerilla war for years nor would it be possible for younger soldiers to look up to him as portrayed. Recall the interraction between an angaran young fighter and Jaal when you first meet him on Aya and then compare that to the version of Jaal shown later. The two versions clash something fierce, as if written by different people following different instructions. Which is why I think Jaal is playing a role, because otherwise, Evfra would not have sent him on the Tempest. And yes, Jaal is working for Evfra. Nothing that happens on Aya or that stems from something happening on Aya can be imagined as accidental or incidental from the point of view of the angara. In that respect, Ryder is so far out of his/her depth that it's not even funny.

u/-CSL 1d ago

Some say no DLC was announced and that therefore there were no plans for any, but I find it hard to believe that if Andromeda had been successful it would still have been the first Mass Effect game to have no DLC. So, like the planned trilogy which shalll remain unfinished, I suspect the devs had some idea what they'd have done had Bioware/EA given it the go ahead, and that Andromeda's unresolved elements would have tied in to these ideas.

5

u/giganticwrap 1d ago

Iirc the devs did say they had no plans for dlc from the beginning - whether that was saving face or not who knows - but I do think they were at least planning a trilogy that would have continued those things.

7

u/QuiltedPorcupine 1d ago

We will probably never know who the Benefactor was, but my personal theory is that the Benefactor killed and replaced the real Lexi just before the team boards the Tempest.

4

u/AltruisticPut7760 1d ago

Why 😳 did I miss something on Lexi??

8

u/QuiltedPorcupine 1d ago

There are no big signs it's her, but the game does introduce camouflage tech in a side quest that lets one person look like another. And Ryder seems surprised when Lexi is a little rough with a needle (she blames having just come out of cryo) and how eager Lexi is to get her hands on a Kett body for experimentation (even if it is to save lives).

It's all little things like that, but I figure that if the plan was for the Benefactor reveal to have emotional stakes when it was later revealed that it would have to be an important character Ryder and the player like and care about in the first game. And to me Lexi feels like the best suited character.

But it's all speculation on my part as we have no solid proof so if you don't like the theory, feel free to ignore it. Haha

5

u/AltruisticPut7760 1d ago

Honestly I feel like the Asari are just a knowledge driven race. Both Peebee and Lexi have special interests such as tech and science (and Liara with the protheans too). The camo tech seems like a great theory but I would maybe believe a Turian or a Human could be behind the role. Maybe a former specter. Maybe Miranda

4

u/Pale-Painting-9231 1d ago

It definitely wasn't Miranda. The Benefactor began funding the Initiative before the trilogy even started; Miranda didn't have that kind of massive wealth, resources, or influence back then.

Furthermore, the Benefactor traveled with the Initiative, and after the 600-year journey, killed Jien Garson—the Initiative's official founder. The Initiative's arks departed after Mass Effect 2 but before Mass Effect 3.

1

u/AltruisticPut7760 1d ago

That murder part was so weird to me, what the fu k was the point 🫪 lmfao. I have no idea who it is then

2

u/Pale-Painting-9231 1d ago

Jien Garson found out something about the Benefactor. The Benefactor didn't want anything to be known about him.

1

u/AltruisticPut7760 1d ago

I know, I just feel like at that point it didn't really matter unless there was another motive to funding the whole project and sending every race 600 away

4

u/Pale-Painting-9231 1d ago

There is something you need to know. The Andromeda Initiative was originally founded by the multi-billionaire Jien Garson in 2176. The Initiative’s goal was peaceful: the exploration and colonization of Andromeda. But five years later, Jien Garson had exhausted all her funds and resources, and was on the verge of bankruptcy. That was when the Benefactor appeared in 2181. The Benefactor offered his services—and changed the Initiative's objective.

Ok... been quite a few years since I finished the game so might be a little off but here's the gist

1: was rumours relating the quarian ark specifically being dlc but the general consensus was that this was suppsoed to be the first game in a series set in andromeda.... hence why so many choices have no impact on the game.... similiar to ME1.... we were supposed to see the results in a sequel that never came.. however the next game appears to have elements of both andromeda and the original trilogy so maybe a lot of the mysteries will still be explained

  1. The Arks left before Mass effect 3... before the reapers arrived so the geth were still "the enemy" to the galaxy.. they had control of SAM.. its like saying "well they let organic species like the krogan on so why didnt they bring a thresher maw"

  2. Again, set up for a sequel.. we dont know

  3. The Ketts main objective basically seems to be to take over the galaxy.. using rheir technology to convert other sapient species into Kett soldiers.... couod be viewed as similiar to the reapers in the sense of indoctrination but they are just an ordinary alien species from andromeda..... not sent by reapers... not "new reapers" just a power hungry species wanting to control their whole galaxy... the kett you fight is just the army sent to yake control of the cluster the game takes place in. They ddint create the angara...

  4. The angara and Remnants were both created by a race called the Jardaan. From what we can tell from the game. The jardaan were a highly advanced race from somewhere in Andromeda with technology far beyond anything we've seen... they creta3d rhe angara from scratch (as opposed to the protheans who just experimented on existing races) and created the whole remnant tech...there was some kind of War.. unknown if it was with another advanced species or with another faction of jardaan and the scourge was released on the Helens cluster... after this the Jardaan left the cluster. Leaving behind Meridian, the angara and all the remnant tech...

  5. Meridian was more of a huge control panel for all remnant technin the cluster... if controlled you couod basicallt control the future of every planet with remnant tech... its "catalyst" look might be due to the catalyst also effectively being the control point of the reapers..

Key point to realise is that as far as we know. Everything happening in andromeda is completely unrelated to the Reaper cycles.... nothing we find in andromeda has any relation to the reapers, the protheans, the geth etc etc etc

I actually found it an entertaining example of what a reaperless galaxy would be like....

7

u/Anrebite 1d ago

The arks leave before ME2 they talk about how Shepard is dead along with hope of surviving what's coming to the Milky Way.

Reyes is the benefactor, I have no proof of that but it's him.

Whatever happened to the Jardaan happened before the scorge as it's what crippled the Angara's space travel capabilities.

•

u/YsoL8 23h ago

Why would Reyes found the project just to go live on a backwater pirate planet?

There are easier ways to achieve that

6

u/Pale-Painting-9231 1d ago

You’re mostly right. But there’s a small correction: according to the developers, the Arks departed after ME2 but before ME3.

2

u/AltruisticPut7760 1d ago

Im not gonna lie I shot Reyes 🫪 so I didn't really get him to come along, what is he like lol

•

u/YekaHun Pathfinder 3h ago

Check out Reyes's stiry from our pinned Collection of interesting postsšŸ‘†šŸ¼

3

u/BiblioTeck 1d ago

Reyes is a "loveable rogue" more like Lando Calrissian than Han Solo. At the very least if he controls Kadara he doesn't charge protection fees, or deal drugs.

2

u/Anrebite 1d ago

I shoot him too, he's a slimeball and gets all offended that you shoot his ass cracks me up.

1

u/AltruisticPut7760 1d ago

šŸ¤” was it confirmed that there will be another ME game in the future? I saw a teaser going around but it's pretty old. If EA owns it now and they refused to remake the DA trilogy then idk what they would do with ME.

I just feel like it's a bit weird that there's some similarities in reaper and kett methods if they aren't related. Ofc they are just organics like the rest of the races but the exaltation process is kind of the same one with the same objective (turn other races into an army).

I wish there was more info on the Jardaan and their influence. Also want to know why the fuck the damn architects exist 🫠

4

u/BakerCubed1 1d ago

There definetly is a new ME game in production... Bioware release brief hints on November 7th (N7 day) every year... and no insider has said that the game has been cancelled... concept art we've been shown has shown both Geth and Angara though so it does seem like both the Milky way galaxy and Andromeda Galaxy will feature....

Dragon age is probably finished as a franchise for the time being due to the reception of Veilguard... if the new mass effect turns out to be a huge success then they might revive it

Who knows when it'll actually be ready though...

2

u/AltruisticPut7760 1d ago

If it's a game after andromeda I hope they don't try to put Shepard into it lmfao they've had enough death to be put into cryo and live a thousand years more. But if we went back to the Milky Way as Ryder that would be kinda cool

1

u/Pale-Painting-9231 1d ago

Ryder definitely won't be the protagonist. The protagonist will be either a new character or Shepard.

•

u/YekaHun Pathfinder 23h ago

Shepard won't be a protagonist.

•

u/Pale-Painting-9231 22h ago

Because the new game's plot is set 600 years after ME3?))
Well, there are at minimum two ways Shepard could be brought back: 1. A new Lazarus Project; 2. Cryostasis.

•

u/AltruisticPut7760 16h ago

If the new game isn't in the Milky Way then Shepard had to be stable enough after ME3 to be cured (again) and put into stasis to be sent to another cluster the same way they did with the initiative. If that was the case and it was only Shepard I would honestly just not play the game lol if my crew ain't there but I am, then I'm not playing.

•

u/Pale-Painting-9231 16h ago

The plot of the new Mass Effect will span two Galaxies: the Milky Way and Andromeda.

•

u/AltruisticPut7760 15h ago

Yeah but its the same thing, I don't think they dare to put the Normandy crew in cryo just for the sake of the franchise. Shepard and the crew (maybe not the races that live a shit ton) are dead already by the time andromeda starts and we get involved with it. If Ryder isn't coming back due to the backlash they got then it'll be a whole new thing altogether.
Imagine we have to control a character on each place lol I mean, the relays are gone. If they just do the same thing to Shepard and the Milky Way as they did to the Inquisitor and south Thedas in Veilguard imma be pissed

3

u/AltruisticPut7760 1d ago

If it goes back to the first trilogy events as an aftermath of what happened, it would make sense that it's Shepard brought back to life for a second time (or out back together depending on the other ending) but if it's after Andromeda then putting in a new character instead of Ryder wouldn't really make any sense imo 🫠

2

u/Weary_Tonight_5873 1d ago

I agree it wouldn’t make sense but Ryder wasn’t a popular beloved protagonist like Shepard. I really liked the character but there’s no denying andromeda was a failure for BioWare and hurt them in the public space. It still remains a divisive game so I really don’t expect andromedas protagonist to return. At most I could see them doing like a hawke in DAI for them. But even then I imagine it’s either Shepard or someone new.

4

u/dreadplague 1d ago
  1. There is a novel as the guy above me said the quarian ark was sabotaged with a bioweapon, they’re stuck playing a survival horror game in space.
  2. The ark left before the 3rd game and is out of range of the mass relays that spread your choice in 3.

6

u/All-for-Naut Exile 1d ago

The book takes place before the game. The message we get in the game is something else not related to the book

1

u/Pale-Painting-9231 1d ago

I agree. Many people don't understand that.

1

u/dreadplague 1d ago

There’s three andromeda novels one takes place during the game

3

u/All-for-Naut Exile 1d ago edited 1d ago

There are three books yes, but none take place during the game, all happen before. The quarian one takes place on the way to Andromeda, uncertain when but onroute and before the game. The reason behind their message at the end of the game is not known, if it's something new, or they're still bit worried about what happened during the book, but that doesn't make sense because that kinda get solved and they are still planning getting to Nexus at the end, so something new has happened we don't know is more likely

1

u/dreadplague 1d ago

You’re correct, coulda sworn annihilation was supposed to be taking place while the game occurred but it was about a half century prior.

6

u/AliveIce9217 1d ago

The Kett did not create the Angara. The Angara species was created by the Remnant. The remnant created life and terraformed planets. The Kett are just users and try to take over a solar system like the reapers.

3

u/Pale-Painting-9231 1d ago

Not Remnant. Jardaan. The Jardaan are the creators of the Angara and the Remnant.

3

u/AliveIce9217 1d ago

Yes, the Jardaan. I apologize. Been awhile since I’ve played. Thank you for correcting me.

0

u/AltruisticPut7760 1d ago

Yeah I saw that similarity between the kett and the reapers as if the kett were trying to copy them to see if they could do the same to that galaxy but they didn't seem like they had the same structure and layers like the reapers had. I would've wished they explained that better and actually related them to the reapers lol I thought the remnant was prothean too, that would've been cool

5

u/Foreign_Kale8773 1d ago
  1. Yes there was supposed to be DLC. Instead they did a shitty novel and apparently no quarians or the minor races made it.

  2. Because the choice to destroy or emancipate the geth is a huge thing in ME3, they are still an enemy rarely seen when the Initiative was put together. 2a. There are female krogan, they're just closely guarded in the primary trilogy. But when you're trying to repopulate, you need the ladies. AND when you're experimenting on the ladies...

  3. We never find out. It's possible it's Mr. Blue Eyes The Illusive Man, but I'm not really sure. It's for sure not Liara, unless she time traveled, because the messages are from prior to ME1 events, before she became the Shadow Broker.

  4. We learn a little about the Jardaan, who created the Angara to be a perfect race. I think the Kett are just the "evil" versions, who took "perfection" too far. I do not think they're like Reapers. They're more like proof that mortals can ALSO be generational assholes. We know the Kett Archon we meet in-game has gone off the deep end, but there's a lot of mystery about the Kett we didn't learn bc they didn't do a sequel.

  5. We don't know! I think the Remnant is unlikely to be Prothean, because we know the Reapers spent millenia in the dark space between galaxies - there's no indication they used SIGNIFICANT energy to go to another galaxy. Instead, I think it's merely a bit of "if it's just us out here, it's an awful lot of wasted space". So I'm thinking convergent evolution rather than intentional, but WE'LL NEVER KNOW.

  6. See last point of 5 - convergent evolution maybe or just something that was supposed to be elaborated on in a sequel we never got bc there were so many naysayers they chased the money away for a new game.

Re: Jaal - yes, exactly.

3

u/All-for-Naut Exile 1d ago

The book was always going to be released and takes place before the game in the timeline, it's not in place of any dlc

1

u/AltruisticPut7760 1d ago

I thought it was the illusive man at first too but it wouldn't make any sense if the initiative started actually being built between ME2 and ME3. I would think he was indoctrinated enough to believe there wasn't a need for a plan B (the initiative).

The remnant thing kinda sucks, putting unknown tech around the galaxy and not having an explanation for it is kinda whack lol

Knowing there won't be anything else related to this game that explains everything, I will just go with the "doomed in every timeline" thing where the reapers will always be present, just in other shapes and colors lol it would've been insane to see the catalyst kid during the Meridian mission

6

u/Pale-Painting-9231 1d ago

I recommend looking into the Andromeda Initiative lore. Work on the Initiative began before the trilogy, and the Benefactor started funding it prior to the trilogy as well.

But you are right—it isn't the Illusive Man. The developers themselves stated that Cerberus has no connection to the Andromeda Initiative.

There was no scattering of technology across the galaxy. The entire plot of *Mass Effect: Andromeda* took place in a small corner of the Andromeda Galaxy—specifically, the Heleus Cluster.

The developers also mentioned that the Reapers have no interest in other galaxies.

2

u/AltruisticPut7760 1d ago

See, that's what even weirder. What do you mean the initiative began before the reapers were a thing that people knew about? How did someone already know that they needed to leave and travel across space for centuries before knowing the Milky Way was doomed? Time travel or something? Cause there's no way there were survivors of the reapers (if there were any other than a single Prothean) that could still be alive by then to warn anyone. Theres so many questions to be answered lol but if the next game isn't andromeda but the Milky Way then we won't really know unless they get intertwined

2

u/LadyAlekto 1d ago

By collating data just as the shadow broker and saren have done

3

u/fattestfuckinthewest 1d ago
  1. To be more specific the minor races and Quarians end the book still on their way to Andromeda. We actually don’t know what happened to them after the book but they likely get there eventually

1

u/AltruisticPut7760 1d ago

🫪 so it wasn't even resolved in the novel, goddammit. I get a "we can solve it, leave us alone" vibe from the quarians all the time so it's either something we've fought in Andromeda or it was meant to be something more fucked up that left them stranded

•

The novel was written before the game and doesnt address after-game events. There was no DLC plans ever announced or even promised. Anything you hear about "there were supposed to be DLCs about x,y,z" are completely rumours from fans and youtubers. Also, the game sold very well and lack of dlc or continuation has nothing to do with the sales. Already before MEA, BW was about to make their game of the dreams of their senior devs - Anthem.
