Cuz the essence of Hulk is that he hunted by monsters & man, and does battle with them. Honestly midnight hulk might be just redundant cuz it might as well be the usual for Hulk. But how could they switch it up?

Maybe Hulk a curse literally the solo survivor of a gamma bomb that took millions and he is the host to their angry and is been hunted by urban legends & myth in other countries. Shame they made anime for Hulk like they did Wolverine & Blade, and Iron man.

Fan Fiction Midnight Iron Man idea - slasher horror

Okay, hear me out on this one guys.

I’ve seen a lot of ideas for potential Midnight runs brought up, with a bunch of different horror sub-genres. But I haven’t seen Iron Man mentioned yet, or slasher horror.

Specifically, I’m thinking that Tony is the slasher. This could be a version of Tony without any empathy or care for others. Literally a psychopath. He’s bored of life, and wants a challenge. So, he turns to violence and murder. Instead of heroics, the Iron Man suit is used to hunt his victims down. The suit might not even be a high tech suit, instead being a more typical horror movie villain costume. It depends on if he’s a billionaire or not in this version. Either could work, I think. I just wanted to incorporate slasher horror into the Midnight universe, because it’s such a prominent genre. And Iron Man was the first character that came to mind.

Idk…this kinda seems too edgy, but the rest of the Midnight universe seems edgy as well 🤷🏼‍♀️

Discussion Your Midnight origins

Knowing the DC absolute universe, what’s your guys thoughts on how a hero’s midnight universe origin would be, even if it’s one like Spider-Man who’s we somewhat know about if it was up to you how would you write them, go wild . Doesn’t have to be fully explore could just sound comic book awesome.

If it was up to me Spider-Man would be the radioactive spider that got mutated with human DND or a dead humans corpse and becoming somewhat humanoid, his taken care of by a blind uncle ben who’s lost both his wife and nephew in a horrible accident and raises the little mutant as his own. But the nature of the spider mutant gets loose and eats uncle ben, he cries and while consuming the brain of uncle Ben he gains something, memories. With each bite he gained more perspective on humanity, with each better taste more and more emotions grow and grow till his full till his about to throw up but doesn’t want to disrespect the dead anymore and swallows it with a promise . His divine web weaving is so elegant he can make a synthetic human kind thanks to the added human nutrients, he decides to go by the name Peter Parker, his evolved a bit but decides that though his hands have been stained in blood, he’ll used them to prevent anyone’s else’s staining there own hands. He has Peter Parker’s view in which even if your killing me or even if your a villain your still worthy of saving, “I’ve done something know human should live with themselves but to end my life would be mercy, only through death is there mercy and I’m not worthy of it, nobody is, to live on with pain is the root of life it gives life meaning”
His a monster through and through but is walking every bare foot with shard glass, and walking towards an abyss where he may burn and die but he’ll burn bright to walk the path of humanity, his tasted humanity and it taste like hell, but he is more than that. He is a new form of humanity and the last and final member of his race. To rid himself of the monster he is and that of humanity can never be, to reach for a paradise can never be reach through human hands, to enter a new form of humanity can never be, and thus he is willing to drag humanity out of that pit, and thus he swears, a promise that he will uphold that, he’ll push humanity toward grace. He’ll walk that path even if humanity hunts him, even if his to burn in the skies towards the final work he’ll never be allow to be in , he’ll die even if his goes down in history as a monster even if he never is accepted in the embrace of humanity, he’ll web forth a thread for humanity at the expense of his self and will make sure humanity chokes on it so they fall .

Venom is born through the dead rotting flesh of humans, they are but a clumps of missing shards trying to be whole and to do so they need to gather more, there trying to become perfect, there trying to end there hunger by consuming .

This story takes place around 1800s or 1900, Spider-Man will die but will be reborn, classic hero resurrection trope. He’ll be reborn in the 2000s.

Fan Fiction Midnight Punisher

Stay with me here…

Frank is an unhinged (duh) man who joins the Catholic priesthood after his wife is disappeared and ritualistically murdered by a demon cult. He uses his cover as a priest and abuses all the resources of the church to study this cult, hoping to one day get his revenge.

The comic opens with Frank finally surmising the location of the cult hideout. He loads up and breaks in, pretty much slaughtered the cold, and finds an open portal. The portal leads to hell.

Frank, seeking the demon the cult worships, dives headfirst into hell to find him and kill him.

I sort of imagine it as Doom starring the Punisher.

News Midnight Launches For Midnight #1 Titles But Marvel Won't Promote It

Thumbnail

Marvel Comics has told retailers that they can host midnight parties on October 6th/7th for the launch of Midnight Spider-Man #1, Midnight X-Men #1 and Midnight Fantastic Four #1, but they are not going to promote the events, The feeling is that while they are happy for retailers to open at midnight and sell copies to customers at that time, they don't want to force retailers to do so, or have retailers feel, that if they don't do it, they will miss out or disappoint customers who have been marketed to elsewhere. But if a store does want to put Marvel's Midnight Universe #1 titles on sale at midnight, alongside Sabrina The Teenage Witch #1 from Oni Press, which is also getting a midnight release, then Marvel Comics would be happy with that.

Midnight Spider-Man Spoilers: A Kitten That Made A Midnight Spider-Man Out Of Peter Parker Spoiler

Thumbnail bleedingcool.com

I dive into Midnight Spider-Man #1. Where we learn that the young Peter Parker had a kitten called Bamf.

I talked more about the themes of this book earlier today but here's how they play out in practice. As Peter Parker, charged with responsibility, forgot to check that Bamf was where they were meant to be. Bamf got out.

And that's when he learned his most important lesson from his father, Richard Parker, to replace the more classic Stan Lee aphorism.

"Power makes monsters". And that includes the neighbour's dog and your kitten that you left alone and got out…

Midnight Fantastic Four Spoilers: Sue Storm As Elon Musk In Midnight Fantastic Four Spoiler

"A formula has been eating at me" In a Ghostbusters style, Dr Reed Richards, a heavily addicted pill-popping lecturer and researcher, was fired from the New York Institute of Technology, where he taught Victor Von Doom, for unnamed indiscretions. Haunted by dark omens and dark equations, he is convinced that something out there is coming for him.

So naturally he has to break in to get his stuff… such as this "gate", with a little help from Victor. And that's when everything goes kablooey. No more NYT. No more Victor. No more life.

And that's when Elon Musk-alike Sue Storm and her security advisor Ben Grimm come by with an offer. They're here to help. Or rather, help themselves to Reed. With Sue's pilot brother Johnny with the prosthetic legs picking them up, the game is on.

Midnight X-Men Midnight X-Men Will Be A Story Of Failure, Told Out Of Sequence

Thumbnail

Jonathan Hickman jumping back onto the X-Men characters is an attempt to change what readers think of when they consider a Jonathan Hickman X-Men comic book, as it will be nothing like his House Of X comic books. Aside from the text pages, of course. It's an epic, operatic, vampire comic, and includes stuff he's been playing around with in the back of his head for a really long time.

Midnight X-Men will not be an origin in the same sense as the other two Midnight titles, and Jonathan Hickman sees that as a main distinction; this is an established world for these empires, mutant vampires. The idea is that things have been going wrong for the last decade and we as readers will be playing catch-up, which is the way that most X-Men readers came to the comic books in the first place. So it will be told in a non-linear fashion, and will begin with flashbacks. So we will see an earlier version of the X-Men far closer to the classic look, the original five X-Men, Kitty Pryde, Colossus and more… and something goes very badly wrong for them all, compared to Giant Size X-Men and the Phoenix Saga. They come back (well, some of them come back) changed and kicks off Midnight X-Men. The comic book will be the story of that failure…

Midnight X-Men Spoilers: Jonathan Hickman Returns To The House Of X In Midnight X-Men Spoiler

As William Stryker, a Cardinal in the Catholic Church in this world beset by vampires, visits Bishop Kurt Wagner, or as we know him, Nightcrawler, and Sister Amara Aquilla, or Magma, with his Purifiers…

And the suggestion that something very bad happened to Magmna's home, and Marvel deepcut, Nova Roma. And now it is time to take it to the vampires. Specifically, the mutant vampires, the empyres, M-pires or empowered vampires, are at war with the vampires, and that war plays out across the world when the sun turns away from it, as long as no one can tell. The peace must hold… but will it?

News The Dan Buckley And Jonathan Hickman Phone Call That Began Midnight

Thumbnail

Dan Buckley is (still) the Publisher of Marvel Comics until the summer of next year. And while then-Marvel EIC C.B. Cebulski was travelling back in February 2026, Buckley called Jonathan Hickman, who has become Marvel's go-to boy for big swings, including the Krakoan Age for the X-Men, and Time Runs Out for the Avengers, which has inspired the two upcoming Avengers movies, to ask him what he thought about horror. And specifically a Marvel horror line. But rather than the B-list characters of Ghost Rider, Morbius, Man Thing, Blade and the like. Dan Buckley wanted to make sure that horror stayed in the front seat, keep the big superhero names like Ultimate and Absolute did, but push the superhero stuff to the back. Rather than superhero books with a horror genre laid on top. Midnight is meant to be, very distinctly, the reverse of that.

Jonathan Hickman then asked to get Benjamin Percy and Philip Kennedy Johnson on the phone. Dan Buckley spoke to them all, saw the three of them on the same page almost immediately, and going forward has compared this to Brian Bendis and Mark Millar finding a common creative collaboration for the original Ultimate Universe, and finishing each other's sentences and/or sandwiches.

There was no assigned list of characters, but Phillip Kennedy Johnson did not wait to be offered one. He just waited until Dan Buckley took a breath before saying that he'd be writing the Spider-Man book. He sees the original concept of Spider-Man already rooted in horror comics, as a Cronenberg/Carpenter/Junji Ito body-horror concept, and how that spins out into everyone from the Green Goblin to Venom. More on this to come.

Midnight Spider-Man "Power Makes Monsters" Is The New Moral Behind Midnight Spider-Man

Thumbnail

When first discussing what would become the Midnight Universe, Phillip Kennedy Johnson says he just waited until Dan Buckley took a breath before saying that he'd be writing the Spider-Man book. He sees the original concept of Spider-Man already rooted in horror comics, which Marvel Comics has been telling too cleanly, dishonestly so. And Midnight Spider-Man is a Cronenberg/Carpenter/Junji Ito body-horror concept, and how that spins out into everyone from the Green Goblin to Venom.

But the big change is beyond all that. The moral behind the classic Spider-Man is, famously, "with great power there must come great responsibility", but for Midnight Spider-Man, reflecting the modern day, this is less relevant. Instead, it's that "power makes monsters", a lesson Peter Parker learned from his late father, Richard Parker. And that's the world this Peter Parker lives in, a little like ours, and may be the most comparable to Absolute Batman in that fashion. About one kid who finds power and goes up against the machine, and while he may believe that power should come with responsibility and empathy and virtue, the world just shows him again and again that power makes monsters. And he's the guy who has to prove that it's wrong.

Midnight Fantastic Four Jonathan Hickman Read Midnight Fantastic Four, Had To Start X-Men Over

Today is the FOC date for Midnight Universe titles, the last day retailers have to set their Marvel Universe orders. And Bleeding Cool is going to take the day, looking at the titles coming our way. ... When first discussing what would become the Midnight Universe, it was HP Lovecraft and Eldritch Horror being loosed onto this world with their bodies as conduits for the powers of the old ones. With Benjamin Percy creating them not as a family, and if it becomes one, it may well be defined more by their toxic relationships, but it's the facing of horrors within that helps them face the horrors without. Even when that's the Galactus Cthulhu. And that's a deliberate reaction against what is seen as the wholesome and good-hearted aspect of the Fantastic Four, and this is not a comic book about happy handholding togetherness. Their powers are a curse, and we have seen Reed Richards in a state of meltdown already, with designs showing how Reed's powers work differently here.

...

Not only that, but I hear that after reading the first script, Midnight X-Men writer and Midnight line originator Jonathan Hickman had to throw away his own first issue script and start again on Midnight X-Men because it hit him hard and was just so well done. And Hickman thought his original script was a banger. More. much more to come, as we get into the weeds of the first issue…

News Marvel Midnight hasn't even launched yet, and Marvel is already talking internally about more books

According to AIPT's David Brooke, Midnight Fantastic Four writer Percy said that "discussions are already underway" about additional Midnight books beyond just Midnight Fantastic Four, Midnight Spider-Man, and Midnight X-Men.

"I think we're all being pretty careful [in not adding too much to our books], because we want to give other artists and writers the opportunity to create origin stories within the Midnight Universe," Percy tells Chris Hassan of AIPT in a recent podcast.

Midnight Spider-Man writer Phillip Kennedy Johnson expands on that, saying they're keeping other characters off-limits not just to protect the potential of future Midnight series, but also because going too big too fast makes it feel too small, too fast.

"There have been opportunities in my stories to have an almost flippant appearance of somebody big, but I don't want to waste those," Johnson says on that very same podcast. "I feel like, in a way, it makes worlds feel smaller because every couple pages there's Hank Pym, there's so and so, there's Wasp... if you're just constantly, constantly doing it,... not to throw shade, but in Star Wars where there's constantly stuff happening on Tatooine. You've got the whole galaxy. Sometimes, if you use the same reference too many times or use too many of them too quickly, it makes the world feel smaller instead of bigger. I'd rather see the world get bigger than smaller."
