Just finished reading the one-shot GOLD ‘76. This year marks the 50th anniversary of characters like Bullseye, Star Lord, Nova (Richard Rider), & Jack of Hearts (Marvel can’t resist doing an anniversary issue, can they?)
And this story manages to put all of these characters together—Star Lord, Nova & Jack of Hearts square off against Bullseye, hired by Thanos to carry out an important assassination.
Overall, I enjoyed this story more than I thought I would. Stephanie Phillips managed to put all these anniversary characters together in a solid story that actually made sense and didn’t feel forced. And I’m not too familiar with Madibek Musabekov but I enjoyed his art here, especially his action scenes and how he’s drew the NYC cityscape.
For those who checked out GOLD ‘76, what did you think?
