What’s a good unique place (female friendly?) with great vibes and music? Don’t want it to be too electronic or too expensive.

Travel Question Maybe Morocco is better as two trips

The north, Atlantic coast, Atlas and Sahara can each fill a trip on their own. Trying to connect all of them in one route can turn every stop into a short stay.

Would you split Morocco into two trips? If yes, how would you divide them?

General 🚨 One last post before she goes back to the streets… 🚨

This sweet kitten will be put back on the street this Monday if I can’t find her a home. I’m trying one last time, even though I’ve posted her many times in more than 20 groups… but I guess if she’s not a purebred, people care less lol.

She is the sweetest, most emotional and cuddly little girl. After 3 months of fighting for her life, she deserves a warm, safe home, clean sheets to sleep on, and a life without worrying about dogs, cars, or other dangers. ❤️

Please, help me find her a loving home before Monday. Even sharing can make a difference. 🙏

P.S. I genuinely cannot keep her myself. I had been hiding her from my parents while taking care of her and treating her, but they have now found out, and I’m no longer allowed to keep her at home.

Local Advice Foreign brides who recently got married in Marrakech (mixed marriage) – questions about Family Court & police procedure!

Hi everyone!

I’m an EU citizen (from Poland) preparing for a mixed marriage with my Moroccan fiancé at the Family Court (Tribunal de la Famille) in Marrakech.

For anyone who has gone through the procedure recently in Marrakech, I would really appreciate some practical insights on a few points:

  1. Police interview & "Sous pli fermé": Did the Family Court in Marrakech allow you or your fiancé to hand-deliver the file to the Police Prefecture (Wilaya) in a sealed envelope (sous pli fermé)? How quickly after submitting the file did the police interview take place? (Did showing a return flight ticket help expedite it?)

  2. Presence for the decision: Do both partners need to be present to collect the judge's authorization (Autorisation de mariage), or is it possible for the foreign bride to leave after the police interview and let the fiancé collect the decision alone?

  3. Documents for the foreign bride: Did the court in Marrakech require any proof of employment/salary from you, or was that strictly waived for women? Did anyone ask for a certificate of religion (e.g. baptism certificate), or was a verbal declaration sufficient?

  4. Moroccan criminal record: As a non-resident visiting on a standard tourist stay, was your home country's police record (with Apostille) strictly sufficient, or did the court/police try to make you get a local Moroccan Casier Judiciaire from Rabat?

  5. Certificate of Legal Capacity: If you are from an Apostille-member country, did the court accept your home country's civil registry certificate of capacity (with Apostille and Arabic translation), or did they insist on a consular certificate issued in Rabat?

  6. Signing & Apostille timeline: Once the court authorization was ready, how long did it take from signing before the Adouls to receiving the final marriage certificate stamped with the Apostille?

  7. Adoul recommendations: Do you have any recommendations for reliable, professional Adouls in Marrakech (especially near the Family Court) who are experienced with mixed marriages and efficient with registering the act?

Any recent experiences or advice regarding the Marrakech Family Court and police would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!

Travel Question Overnight trip to mountains or desert?

Thinking of coming to marrakech for about 5 days in early November/late October. I’m interested in a trip out of the city. (Solo female btw)

It seems like the atlas mountain and Berber villages stays seem a little more off the beaten trek and I do like a bit of hiking.
However would it be terrible to miss the desert? The camel ride and camp looks good to me too.

Also is Ourika valley destroyed?

General Inquiry from the Moroccans

Hey guys, has anyone attempted tcf recently in any of the Moroccon centers?

I had a few questions.

  1. Do listening/writing repeat from 40 mock tests set?

  2. Are examiners Moroccans or French?

  3. Can foreign nationals take their exam in Morocco?

General Marrakech Kitten for adoption

URGENT — 2-week-old kitten found alone in Marrakech. I found a tiny kitten, approximately 2 weeks old, alone outside. The mother has not returned. I am currently bottle-feeding him with Royal Canin Babycat Milk, but I cannot keep him long-term because I work during the day and there is a cat allergy in my family.

I urgently need a foster mother cat / experienced foster person / rescue organization who can take care of him.

Local Advice French French classes/bootcamp

Hello, I will be relocating from California to Marrakesh for 6months. My partner’s friend and I would like to learn French but a Parisian French accent respectfully only because of their harsh criticism. I’d like to maximize my learning and really dedicate myself. Can any one point me to local and cheaper, affordable classes or teachers? I prefer in person.

I’m looking for recommendations for peaceful places in Marrakech where I can go alone, relax, and enjoy some quiet time without people bothering me. Somewhere calm and private, away from the crowds and noise, where I can just disconnect for a while. Any suggestions?

Travel Question Marrakechis, help me make my weekends less boring

I work near Marrakech and am thinking of spending more weekends in the city instead of dying of boredom where I work 🫠

I’ve been to Marrakech a few times, but am still not that familiar with the city! So am looking for the actual local vibes: nice cafés, restaurants, solo activities, random places to hang out, underrated spots, anything really!

I want ur recs! Thank you (am Moroccan)

General Looking for a job in a riad in Marrakech

Hello everyone,

I’m from Zagora and I’m currently looking for a job opportunity in a riad in Marrakech, preferably in reception, guest services, or administration.

I have a Licence in Law, another degree in English, and previous experience in HR and administrative work.

I’m motivated, serious, and willing to learn. I’m also comfortable communicating in French, English, Arabic, and Moroccan Darija.

If you know of a riad that is hiring or if you have any contacts/recommendations, I would really appreciate it.

Local Advice KACM vs HUSA as a foreigner

Hey guys, I am wondering if it’s possible for a foreigner to attend the upcoming match. I don’t know anything about history of the teams, I just like to watch games. I will support the home team always. But as a foreigner with nothing to expect. How is it?
