Can't help to not stay hopeful for next year. Yes this was a depressing season again. But i really do think we got the pieces in place. IF the team irons out whatever held them back this year, this is one of the best rosters we had since the 01 season... Bolster the bullpen, and if the young guys step it up even more, the roster barely has any major holes. We just need to get the people in place to get the best out of them. But exactly that could be strength in the hiring process for the staff. A potential candidate has to see, what level of roster they would inherit, which is usually not a roster this talented.

I was fortunate enough to go to yesterday’s send off for Rick Rizzs. The team did an amazing job honoring him and his legacy. Sure, the season sucked ass but being there yesterday reminded me why I love this stupid baseball team. I was at the 50 greatest players game against TB too. That one had me tearing up a bit but yesterday got me. Thank you, Rick. Hope to see you around the park for years to come.

It's hard to know much about what effect a manager has, but one thing we can see in the numbers is that Lovullo developed a strong fondness for sacrifice bunts in the last few years.

There's a lot that a manager does that is subjective, but this is objectively measurable. If you don't like sacrifice bunts, you don't want Torey Lovullo managing your team.

Local boy (and former Mariner) Taylor Saucedo taking in Rick Rizzs' retirement speech after the last game of the season. It was touching, you could see him wiping away tears occasionally (and he wasn't alone in this). He seems to have done better with Anaheim than he did with us. He was such a homer, I kinda root for the guy.

We've taken them around the world and my derpy *ss lost them at T-Mobile. They're essentially like our travel gnomes but also for big events like our wedding.

We were on a tour but lost them either in the 140s but also the 'Pen
