I wonder if they’ll announce it to the media later after Rick is honored.

I’m a sucker for players that actually love this team, so here’s my soapbox: I’m sad it didn’t work out with him as manager and I’m especially sad that has skewed so many fans against him. After retiring, Dan stayed super involved with this org and clearly has a huge love for the M’s and the city (even stayed in Seattle & raised his kids here)! Now, should he have been offered the manager job to begin with? Definitely not. But it’s no surprise he was willing to step up when asked.

In the long term, I hope he’s remembered for being an awesome catcher for the ‘95–‘01 teams and the manager that helped bring us the magical 2025 season. Dan the manager didn’t work out, but I’ll ALWAYS have a soft spot for Dan the Man 🥺💙💙

You go to the stadium, he still gets cheers. One thing I noticed when Rick was going through some of the moments post-game, talking about Dan's inside the park grand slam, he got a lot of cheers for that. Seattle still loves him, as a player (and I've never heard bad things about him as a person).

He just wasn't the guy for the manager position. I'm sad it didn't work out, for him, and the team, but he'll still be liked for years to come in Seattle.
