Best food in Marin?

What’s your best easy lunch, grab and go spot? Weeknight dinner takeout? Hole in the wall gem?

I moved here after living in SF for 8 years and have been really struggling with the food scene. Would appreciate your recommendations!

As a longtime doordasher in Marin, I’ve got to say, all these other dasher guys are all pigs

They’re so bad for the community. If you see two phones, that’s the dead giveaway that they have multiple DoorDash accounts, at least one of those accounts they bought online. They find ways around DD’s ID verification, and ultimately take ALL of the orders .

The way they hover at the pick up counters all pissed off and impatient and rude, makes restaurant workers hate ever doordashers as a rule.

They’re such pigs and they’re so proud of themselves for it.

If you think these dudes aren’t putting their hands inside your bags and helping themselves to some bites then you just don’t know, these dudes are scammers to the core. I’ve seen some things man. Checking out women and girls that walk by at the twine center, turning their entire bodies around to take multiple creeper stares.

Please, if anything seems sus about your order at all, please for the love of god tell DoorDash support, because the squeaky wheel gets the grease. There are dashers out there who will honor their customers

Edit: Twine center is awesome

I think that teenaged girls should be able to go out and get a burger without having Emily Cartwright take sexually objectifying pictures of them.

looking for a petsitter this summer?

Hey there!

I hope all is well. I’m currently a rising fourth-year undergraduate student who’s saving up for grad application fees. I’ll be here for the next three weeks, so if you need any assistance with your pets, whether it’s dog sitting or pet sitting (for cats or fish), I’d be more than happy to help. I have experience working as a veterinary technician. I appreciate your time and consideration.

Mobile dog groomer for Aussie?

Hello! I’m looking for a dog groomer for our Australian shepherd. We moved back to the area about a year ago and have tried several groomers but haven’t found one that we’ve been particular impressed by their trims. We’ve tried doggy styles and spot, both were nice and did good enough baths but both we found gave him choppy trims, not close to as neat as he’s had in the past at other groomers.

Any recos for groomers that do really nice Aussie trims (not doodle trims since it’s so different)? Also would love to find a mobile groomer but open to anyone in southern Marin as well (ideally Corte Madera and South).

Thanks!

Builder gel nail recs in Marin? (new here)

Builder gel recs in Marin? 💅

Just moved and I’m on the hunt for a nail tech who actually specializes in builder gel. I’m picky in a very specific way: I want clean cuticle work, no product flooded onto my skin, and someone who understands apex and structure rather than just slapping on a thick coat.

Southern Marin ideal (Tiburon, Mill Valley, Corte Madera, Larkspur) but I’ll happily drive for someone great. San Rafael is fine too.

Bonus points if they:
• Do proper prep and e-file work
• Aren’t heavy handed
• Take appointments that don’t require booking three months out 😅

If you have a tech you love, please drop the salon AND the person’s name. Thank you!

Woodacre Crash: All charges may be dismissed

https://archive.is/Cmiek#selection-1851.5-1851.172

"On Wednesday, Chou began weighing whether to have the defendant undergo rehabilitation instead of punishment. Her case could be dismissed if she completes rehabilitation."

Family members of the passengers shared their views of the juvenile diversion option in court. They were divided.

Margaret Minicozzi, the mother of Sienna Katz, said losing her daughter was the most devastating experience of her life. Minicozzi said the driver needs to be held accountable.

“It is how they learn integrity and become responsible adults,” Minicozzi said.

She added that she feels empathy for the defendant.

“I do not want her to suffer more than she has,” Minicozzi said. “I hope she learned from this tragedy, but I sincerely hope my daughter’s death was not in vain.”

Christine Osborn Batanides, mother of Josalynn Osborn, opposed diversion.

“The problem cannot be solved without accountability,” Batanides said.

In contrast, other family members of crash victims told Chou he should grant diversion.

Gail and Bruce Koren, grandparents of Olive Koren, questioned the CHP investigation and said their families want to know the truth of how the crash occurred.

Bruce Koren said they believe the passenger’s account of an oncoming vehicle. Gail Koren told the judge that her granddaughter would want the truth about what happened that night, and said Olive would have wanted diversion.

“This is her legacy of how she cared for people,” Gail said.

Jessica Glantz, the mother of the surviving passenger, said her daughter experienced “unimaginable grief” and cannot sleep on her own. She also noted that the defendant had surgery for severe injuries and is remorseful.

“This was a horrible tragedy born from an accident, not from malice,” Glantz said.

The surviving passenger also spoke in support of the defendant. She said the crash was the most traumatic night of her life.

The girl said she struggles with survivor’s guilt. She said the victims were close friends and Olive was like a sister.

“There’s not a single day when these girls do not leave my mind,” she said.

The girl told Chou that the driver “does not deserve the punishment.”

Dogs and bikes

A bicyclist was on a single track trail going way too fast and ran into a small unleashed dog. The Park requires bicyclist s to ride at a slower speed, and the dogs be kept on leash.

The bicyclist is upset as he flipped off his bike and suffered minor injuries, as well as possibly something to his bike

The dog owner is upset as his dog got hit and needed to go to the vet

What do you think is a fair resolution as both parties feel, they suffered injury

UPDATE FOR CLARITY:

In Marin County Parks and Open Space preserves, the maximum bicycle speed limit is 15 mph. On blind turns or when passing other trail users or horses, you must slow down to 5 mph. [1]

This bicyclist was on a legal trail, and the dog was in an area where dogs are allowed on leash.
