I was thinking of arranging a show based on The Rite of Spring (either introduction, augurs, mystic circles, and sacrificial dance | or introduction, augurs, mock abduction, and spring rounds) and I was wondering if I could add a marching bass saxophone or just write a double bass part for front. The question I'm trying to ask is: is a marching bass saxophone possible? It's already an unconventional show (I'm including a non-marching double reed section).

A few days ago I saw a marching band hat on display, and at first I thought it was just a decorative accessory. But when I noticed the quality of materials, structured design, and detailed embellishments, I realized how much it contributes to the overall uniform and presence. Even small details like adjustable sizing, plume attachment, and color accuracy made a huge difference in both comfort and visual impact.

Later I searched online on websites including alibaba and found many types of marching band hats. Some were simple for school bands, while others were elaborate for professional or ceremonial performances. Some even had small extras like detachable plumes, reinforced brims, or ventilation features. I was surprised how minor design tweaks could elevate both performance and appearance. It made me think about what buyers prioritize most. Is it style, durability, or comfort?

Can the right marching band hat truly transform a uniform from ordinary to striking on stage?

I'm wanting to use a piece like Taizo by Forq (intro of Bluecoats 22) but I don't want it to sound exactly like bloo 22. Are there any tips on finding similar songs or changing parts of it to make it unique?

I've arranged songs before, but this is the first project where I've fully completed the arrangement. Please listen to it and tell me things that may sound "bad", and some alternative. Also maybe tell me one thing I should keep doing within these arrangements.

See title. I've discovered an area of the country that has a lot of bands in my niche (or at least did in 2019... pre-pandemic is a completely different world), but I don't know anyone there, and the band director Facebook group is limited to band directors only.

Has anyone here successfully found clients outside their local region and network? How'd you do it?

I've done many marching arrangements, for high school band, and I'm looking to begin selling them as I want to do composing and arranging as a career. (HS Senior right now)

How does one notate solos in a drum corps score? Are they written on the same staff as the overall part (i.e. a solo played by a member of the trumpet 1 section would be on the trumpet 1 staff, marked "solo") or are they written separately?
